  1. Require comments when changing classification labels and keep history

Require comments when changing classification labels and keep history

Currently Box Shield does not allow the reason or history to be kept when changing.
We would like to see a comment input field added to the UI when making changes, and also made mandatory in the administrator settings.

If it is a file, we would like to leave the comment entered in the comment (activity) field of the file so that the end user can check the history.
For folders, we would like to leave them as undeletable txt files, etc.

Such a feature would allow all users above the…

  2. Auto Classification policy does not work when folders are copied or moved

We would like to improve the behavior so that the auto-classification policy works correctly for files within the folder, even if the folder is copied or moved.

    【Details】
Currently, the Auto Classification policy works correctly when files are copied or moved, but not when folders are copied or moved.
For example, if a ".dwg" file is stored in the "Technical Information" folder, there is an automatic classification policy that assigns the label "Technical Information" (not for external collaboration).
In this case, when a file with a .dwg extension is moved from the "Outside Shared" folder, it is automatically assigned the…

Unfortunately classifying child items upon move/copy operations of the parent folder is not being considered at this time.

  3. VS Exposure-type Ransomware

    Suggestion.
Box Shield classification labels should be able to prohibit downloading via Box desktop (BoxDrive) or via linked apps, even if you are the co-owner or owner.

    Background Threat.
Currently, the mainstream of ransomware worldwide is not of the encryption type, but of the exposure-type or dual-threat-type.
Version control functions are not effective against exposure-type and dual-threat ransomware.
An effective countermeasure against this type of ransomware is to prohibit the downloading of confidential files that should not be disclosed on the dark web.

    Issue to solve.
Box Shield's no-download access policy and access policy restricting linked apps do not target…

  4. Make MPIP and Shield Classification Labels Bidirectional

This make require partnership with Microsoft, but it would be ideal if the MPIP integration was bidirectional. For example, if a file in Box doesn't have an MPIP label, but a Shield classification label is applied, the document would have an MPIP label applied based on the mapping table

  5. As so many deep scan alerts, we can't find alerts detected only by reputation scans quickly.

Add the ability to search for alerts detected only by reputation scans.

  6. Shared Link Expiration (Exception) Settings at Folder Level

I need to be able to control the shared link expiration rules at the folder level, especially when they are an exception from the enterprise-wise rule. We have a handful of use cases that fall outside of the top-line structure, and updating links 1-by-1 is added workflow time on the team. Changing for all assets under a folder would save time and impact when links expired by accident or stay live beyond desired timeline.

  7. Scope of Access Policy Application

We request Shield Access Policy Settings to be applied in the external tenant.

    [background]
The setting access policy in our tenant doesn`t apply to shared folders in external tenants.
We consider it is a risk to move folders or files incorrectly to shared folders in external tenants.

  8. Box Classification Settings: provide ability to restrict modifications to Admins and Co-Admins

Currently, Box Classification configuration allows you to restrict classification modifications to Owner, Co-Owner, Editor, and Viewer Uploader. We would like to add Admin and Co-Admin to this list. Thank you!

  9. Ability to map Box Groups to Information Barrier Segments

The current requirement for uniqueness in Information Barrier segments only allows Box Admins to add individual users to segments, not user groups. This process can increase the long-term maintenance.

Ideally, customers should be able to use attributes from Active Directory that are then synced to Box Groups. Ultimately, the Box Groups would be used to update Information Barrier segment membership automatically. If the group update breaks the requirement that a user can only belong to one segment, Box could produce an error message.

  10. Filter Marked as safe

Shield needs a filter and a display setting for the dashboard for an alert that have been checked and marked as safe, currently it is hard to identify alerts that have been checked by other admins and marked as safe causing duplicate effort.

  11. Ability to provide feedback on anomalous download alerts

I would like the ability to provide user-level feedback on anomalous download alerts. Today, you can only provide feedback via the folder and suggest whether or not it contains sensitive information. It would be better if you could provide this feedback at the user level - if someone is on a specific team, they may be expected to download a lot of files from a specific folder. However, that behavior might be anomalous for another user on a different team. I also find that these alerts are often triggered for new users who are not actually downloading an unusual amount…

  12. Shield Classification UI option should gray out when user does not have permissions to update classification

If the user does not have access to classify content, they should not get this option to change the classification in shield.

  13. Information Barriers Segment Report

Add an Admin Console report that can easily show which users are within Information Barrier segments. or add information barriers to the current User Details report. The current User Details report does not pull any values from the Information Barriers segments.

  14. The "Application Restriction" should be configurable with the same granularity as the "Download and Print Restriction".

    (Japanese follows English)

In the "Download and Print Restriction" section of Box Shield's Access Policy, it is possible to apply download, print, move and copy restrictions to Browser/Mobile/BoxDrive by specifying Managed/Outside Users and Owner/Co-Owner/Editor.
On the other hand, third-party applications are not included in this restriction, and only downloads can be restricted under "Application Restrictions".
We would like to be able to set "Application Restriction" to the same granularity as "Download and Print Restriction, as it provides a more consistent user experience if the same controls are applied regardless of which device or application is accessing the site.

  15. Download and Print restriction policy and Office co-authoring

I have Office co-editing enabled on my device.

An error appears when I try to edit an Office file from a web browser that has the file labeled with "Download and Print Restrictions Access Policy for Box Desktop" enabled.

It's meant to be a label to disable BoxDrive, but I'm having trouble if I can't edit it from a web browser.

Please enable Office co-authoring from a web browser, even if the file is labeled with these restriction.

  16. Give download rights for analysis without flagging safe

Hi, we have a process of validating in a secured sandbox environment documents that are flag as malicious to be analyse to put back into circulation if it's a false positive. Right now, Box Shield co-admin cannot retrieve those documents. Support suggest to flag them as false positive, download them and revert them back. It is a horrible practice to have to do that. It gives false information to the AI and it prevents automation via webhooks.

I have a multiple async jobs I want to run when a file becomes a false positive. This way of downloading is dangerous…

  17. Box Shield Alert for Anomalous Deletion of Folders or Data

We would like an alert to be created if a user deletes an anomalous amount of data. We recently had an employee leave the company under bad terms and found that before we could let her go, she had deleted a bunch of folders from Box. We were able to recover them, but this would be an indicator (much like anomalous download alerts) that something is up with this employee and we should be digging in deeper.

  20. Allow admins to be able to exclude specific folders from scanning policies

Be able to safelist individual folders and their content, in case the latter are part of normal operational activities of specific teams, and to reduce false positives/noise to SecOps teams.
