Automatic Disable of Account Based on Activity
We would like the ability to technically control the automatic expiration, or alert users that their account has not been used in 90 days.

Detection and blocking of distribution lists
We use many distribution lists to communicate.
Technically, Box does not stop you from adding a distribution list email as a collaborator to a folder. All members of the list get email notifications but access to the folder is not granted to anyone on the list. This is expected.
This suggestion is merely a protection measure that can be addressed by user education, so it may have a low impact.
0 votesThis is an interesting request and likely something we should look into for future improvements to how we handle distribution lists.
Because there’s a workaround and we have higher impact requests, we will table this suggestion for now.

We are not planning on supporting this feature in the near future and will revisit if we have more demand from customers for this functionality.

HTML5 Video Support in Custom Terms of Service.
We would like to have a compliance video embedded in the Custom Terms of Service popup that appears in user trying to gain access to Box
0 votesThis is a very interesting request, and not one we have considered previously.
It’s an unlikely addition, but we will consider this with additional demand.
For now, is it possible to use a Box link for the video?

Add back the ability to take a profile photo from webcam
This was a feature in the Legacy UI.
0 votesThank you for this suggestion! This is a low priority because it’s a very narrow use case. Changing this functionality does not impact a large enough user base.

Policies: Add Ability to Apply Them Only to Selected Users/Groups
For some use cases, we would like to enable a Policy (Upload, Download, or Sharing) in Box, but have that Policy scoped to only apply to certain users/groups.
0 votesThank you for this note!
This is a feature we’ve considered in the past but do not plan to build in the short term. This may become a higher priority with more customer demand.

This feature exists in Capture for EMM!

Able to change reading mode (single/ double page) when previewing PDF doc
With the new tablet from version 4.7x. Previewing PDF file on landscape mode will force a double page rendering.
The double page mode works fine when the pdf is created in portrait layout. but with document in landscape (e.g.: pptx) it reduces readability as page is scaled to fit.
0 votesThis doesn’t sound like a big issue for Chromebooks. We will re-evaluate based on additional suggestions.

Disable the automatic creation of the My Photos folder when installing Mobile App.
Disable the automatic upload of camera images and the subsequent creation of a folder to store the uploads.
0 votesThanks for your note! This does not happen unless you turn on the setting.

Grey out "Require passcode" option when Enterprise requires a passcode.
It may make for a better UX if, when the Enterprise requires a passcode for the mobile app, the option was greyed out and unable to be toggled.
As it stands, when you turn it off, it prompts you to create a passcode and then turns back on.
0 votesThank you for the feedback! This change is a low priority when compared to some of our other asks.

Folder Owner to have the ability to place their own folders or files on legal hold
It would be really beneficial for the Folder Owner to have the ability to place their own folders or files on legal hold (without making them an admin)
0 votesMost legal holds happen at the admin/legal team level, but I understand the request and will reconsider with additional customer use cases.

Prevent personal email clients from being opened in Box for EMM via 'Email Link' option
The 'Email Link' functionality in Box for EMM, used when emailing a shared link, directly prompts the user for email clients recognized on the device (e.g. default email client and Gmail). We would like to be able to restrict Box for EMM from presenting the option of the personal email client.
Or, as a fallback, restrict the 'Email Link' option entirely, as it serves as a security loophole for our team.
0 votesThere is no method for the Box mobile app to distinguish between a personal and business email address.
Even if we were able to remove the email functionality, which many customers use, end users would still be able to copy the shared link and paste it within their desired email client.
The shared link itself should be where proper security is enforced. These restrictions can be managed through the Admin Console.

Remove "Mail All collaborators" button for folders with high numbers of collabs
This mail all functionality often fails (and produces strange behaviour such as repeatedly emailing people) when there is a high number of collaborators in the folder
0 votesThere are customer use cases for this button. Therefore, we will keep it. Thank you for the feedback!

Thanks for the suggestion!
Unfortunately, at this moment we don’t have the technical bandwidth to support Arabic and other right-to-left languages.

Prompt to accept TOS for external users
Scenario:
An enterprise requires custom TOS to be accepted. If those TOS change, external users no longer see the folders they had access to from that company. They do not receive a message that explains why.
It would be helpful if they were directed to log in via computer and accept Terms of Service.0 votesThere are no APIs available for the mobile apps to perform TOS functionality.

Remove Option to Download or Edit A Quarantined file.
Remove the option for a user to Download or Edit a quarantine file within Box. This affects security of sensitive information being shared by users.
0 votesThe user who uploads the file already has access to the file in some form – that is why we allow them to download the file if it violates a policy, because it does not extend access.
We do not have plans to change this behavior.

Block Uploads of File Types, rather than quarantine upon upload
We want the option to totally prevent the upload of any specified file types to users accounts.
We do not like the current method that still allows files to be uploaded, but are quarantined. Users can still download or edit the file as an option.
We want complete restriction of specified file types being uploaded by users.
