Warning/Prompt before deleting items in Box Drive
This is to avoid users accidentally deleting content in Box Drive. Users sometimes delete items unintentionally and it's too late for them when they receive email notifications.

Ability to close the black box at bottom of documents containing zoom features, pages and other editing tools
A black box appears on the pdf documents we use.
It contains zoom features, pages and other editing tools.
Unfortuantely, it blocks important client info on our documents.
Many times you can't get it to disappear.
Would like a function where you could close the box on command, and then refresh if you want it back.2 votes -
Offer preview of images for Box Drive or Box Sync.
As a designer, when working on a publication, it would be helpful to be able to have a preview of images saved in Box for quicker identification directly from the Desktop Box Drive. Right now, we have to preview with Finder, which is an additional step and makes the process cumbersome. Thank you for your consideration.

SSO multi-zone assignment through Box Drive log in
We have an enterprise initiative to start leveraging Box drive through our file share migration to Box. The usage is expected to be high within our enterprise since we are working towards enabling Box as an enterprise level application. Since we are a global company, we have requirements regarding data residency and data location within Box. While Zones provide that functionality, through our testing we found the Zone assignment doesn't change when the login is initiated from Box Drive, it only changes when you log through Web UI.

I want to download all files returned from a search
I am searching for files spread through multiple folders and I want to download all the files that are the result of the search. The only way I've found is to keep scrolling down — again and again — until all the files are displayed, then select all and download.
But, there are a lot of resulting files and the scrolling is going on forever.
Is there a way to just have Box download all the files that fit a search?

Have sync centralised in cloud and automatically sync between website and computers
Keep the concept in Box Sync where you choose what folders you want to sync on Box.com or via Box Drive on computer. Then Box.com and all computers using Box Drive should sync those folders. I don't understand why we currently use "Make Available Offline" feature to individualise syncing for each computer instead for all computers of same account.
Also, documentation says you lose these offline files once you log out of Box Drive. That's a pain if you have to redo choosing which folders to make available offline.
Overall, sync like in Box Sync is a more desirable feature…

If I use Box Drive，my computer's local Recycle is not available ?
Whenever a file is deleted from my computer's local Box Drive, it doesn't go in the trash itself. I am not able to see the file in my computer's local trash, it has synched to Box Driver in the first place.

Better reporting / auditing of folders marked for offline use
Have better audit trails around the 'marked for offline use' feature. Be able to generate reports such as all the folders marked for offline use for a user and when they were marked for off line use (or 'umarked').

I want to restrict the installation of the desktop application by user
Is it possible to add a feature to the management console that allows me to limit the installation of desktop applications (Box Drive, Box Note, etc.) per managed user?
Once this is achieved, there will be more control over which desktop applications a corporate user can install.

video thumbnail hover preview
I would like to be able to hover my mouse over a thumbnail of a video and preview frames from it when I move my cursor left or right. Just like in Adobe Premiere Media Browser. It would make it easier to parse through footage faster without downloading or playing the video.

Change Box Drive Storage Location
I want to be able to move the storage location of Box Drive to something other than the C drive. The space is limiting. Most days accessing data from Box is not an issue but on days the internet goes down at the office or there is a power outage all work comes to a halt without access to files. Allow System Administrators to download pkgs/msi's for all OS without being redirected on your site.
Hello!
I am unable to download the regular box drive pkg on my m1 mac. I am a system administrator who needs to download all pkgs/msi in order to support the business. I shouldn't have to use an intel based m1 mac just to download a pkg to upload to jamf.https://support.box.com/hc/en-us/articles/360043696254-Large-Scale-Deployments-Box-Drive

BOX Drive - Block local file/folder creation if user does not have write access
We do not allow creation of root folder in BOX. Also certain folders are read only for select staff. When using BOX Drive if they try to add content to an area they only have read access, the content is listed and appears to the employee, that they uploaded it to BOX. There is a tiny red dot but to many this is not sufficient to let them know the data is not being protected. Please configure BOX drive to not allow a local creation of content within the local BOX path if they do not have editor rights at…

Taskbar icon overlay for Box Drive to indicate if there are any "Problem Items"
Currently for Box Drive (for Windows) you have to go into the program then Box Drive Settings to view if there are any problem files. Most users will never do this.
Ideally there should be a red exclamation overlay on the taskbar icon if there are any problem files and they should be shown immediately when you click to open Box Drive.

Box Drive compatibility with MacOS Big Sur
It appears Box Drive uses a legacy extension no longer supported with the latest MacOS release, Big Sur.
In addition, the new M1 based machines have been widely applauded for their performance and battery life. I assume this will translate to increased sales.
So when you do make Box apps Big Sur compatible, I would recommend building a universal app supporting both Intel and Apple Silicon.
