I've been keeping my eye on this feature and seeing that it's no longer being considered or looked into is extremely frustrating.
Mac Packages are not an obscure thing that can be overlooked in a software such as Box Drive. This NEEDs to be addressed and fixed.

Simply critical.

The lack of this functionality will prevent my company from moving to Box Drive off of Sync (including due to the lack of supporting OmniGroup's packages).

Box drive is significantly faster than box sync, but the inability to handle macos package files makes it effectively useless.

This is critical and needs to be addressed ASAP

What is the plan for this? It is holding up our firm's migration to Box.

Another file type impacted by this: Scrivener .scriv files. These are used by many academics; not supporting them impacts many educational users at universities.

I agree that Box Drive should support Mac Packages and with the same user-friendliness of other files (no zipping, manual drag & drop should be necessitated).
More examples of such file types:
1) Screenflow app with .screenflow extension
2) Bantivity app with with .bank7 extension
Thank You -

I definitely vote for this idea. My most important information is stored in Mac package as "files" from OmniGroup software. OmniOutliner for instance. Each time I want to edit my document, I would have to download it from the web app, into a location not synchronised with my Box, Edit the document locally, re-upload it with the web app.
That is completely unpracticable. All the other tools can synchronize packages. Google Drive, DropBox... what is the issue with Box?And you know how to do it: Box Sync was doing it!!! That is the reason why I signed our contract with Box.

There are easily a few hundred Box users in our company who have expressed an interest in support for mac package files.
