3. Disable preview mode when opening Office 365 files

   Preview mode is an extra step that is confusing our technically challenged and upper management. Believe it or not, they come across this roadblock (as it is perceived) and get turned off by Box, thereby defaulting back to opening locally.

5. Move "Log in" green banner when viewing shared link while not signed into Box

   If you view a shared link while you're not signed into Box, you'll see a green banner at the top: "Log in to Box to securely share, edit, and collaborate on files in real-time with other people." The banner blocks the "Download" button on the right. While there is an X to close the banner, there are two issues:

   1) Less tech-savvy people don't know to close the banner and can't figure out how to download
   2) Others may think you need a Box account in order to access the content

   It would be helpful to either move the banner or maybe add some clearer messaging around the fact that you can still access the content without signing in.

   Thanks for the suggestion! We don’t currently plan to increase this limit given the potential performance impact this would have on page load times. We are, however, looking into alternate solutions for pagination.

9. Drag & Drop Uploads to subfolders, not just current folder

   In legacy UI, you could drag & drop to either the current folder OR one of the sub-folders of the current folder by hovering over it.

   In Amsterdam, drag and drop is only supported for the CURRENT folder, not the subfolders.

   This request is to bring back drag and drop to subfolders in the Amsterdam UI.

   This was an intentional UX change in Amsterdam.

10. Ability to be unlocked only with the permission of the person who set the lock

    With the current file locking feature, even if a file is locked, it can be unlocked by another user.
    In this case, the file that was originally supposed to be updated cannot be updated and is saved as another file.
    The result is a lot of conflict files and a lot of work to merge all the information.

    When editing a file, the file is completely locked.
    If other users want to edit this file, they will ask the user who locked it to unlock it.
    It will only be unlocked if the user who put the lock allows it.

    It would be even better if we could select "anyone can unlock" and "requires unlock request" from the admin console.

12. Box Web Sort (NAME and UPDATED) should INCLUDE Bookmarks

    Currently, sorting the content of a Box folder sorts the content for all but Bookmarks, then shows sorted Bookmarks below the other content - this happens for Sort by NAME and Sort by UPDATED.

    Users might reasonably expect that subfolders might be sorted first, and all other documents and bookmarks be sorted secondly - similarly to Windows File Explorer (which does this, where shortcuts are treated as documents and sorted along with other documents)

    I believe the reason that this may be happening is that [Mssrs Box] has omitted to record any modification made to bookmarks (yes, the name of a bookmark can be amended, therefore that modified date should be recorded in the bookmark's details/properties)

    It should therefore be either a) possible to have a user-level setting that enables any sorts to include all document types (including/excluding selectable filetypes), or b) Box records the modified date for bookmarks, and then allows the Sort by NAME and Sort by UPDATED to treat all filetypes the same and give 'one' result

    I need a feature that allows me to select all the files in a folder (or similar features) and easily move or copy them.

15. Improve messaging when moving folders between owners

    Currently in the web app, a co-owner of a folder is able to move that folder to another location with different ownership. It makes sense that this is allowed and I don't want that to change. However, when the user does this action, they are presented first with an error dialog that suggests the action failed. If they click the "Details" button, they then see a confirmation dialog that ultimately lets them complete the operation.

    I think a confirmation dialog is appropriate, but it should be presented to the user immediately and not hidden behind the initial error dialog.

17. Inactive Status - Should have visual indicator that shows the account is inactive when user is still a collaborator on folder/file

    When I change a user to inactive in the admin console, The user is still a collaborator on a folder or file. There is no way for the active folder collaborators to know if people are active or inactive. The inactive user should either appear greyed out in the list of users or have an red x or something to indicate this user is no longer active. You would become aware if you try to send a comment or at mention to the inactive user it will not pop up but that still doesnt emphasis that person is no longer here, you may think its an issue with Box. Not all companies want to delete their users. So when we make them inactive and we dont have a solution to remove them from the folders they have access to, it would be good if there was some sort of visual indicator and this might make the owner or co-owner manual remove them then. 18. Forcing a page refresh when access is revoked

    Currently within the webapp, if someone created a public link and scope of the link access changes from "People with the link" to either of the more restrictive options, the user can still view contents of the page despite getting an updated floating notification that says "Sorry, you no longer have access to this note."

    Bookmark takes too many steps even when saving a Box's shared link. It should be easier to create a bookmark of a shared Link from adoption perspective.

    As-Is: 1. Generate a shared link 2. Copy the link 3. Move to folder where I want to save a bookmark 4. Create Bookmark and paste&name the link

    To-Be: 1. Generate a shared link 2. Prepare a prompt (probably in the shared Link generation popup) and select "Create Bookmark" and user can select folder they would like to save the link in within the same prompt 3. Save the bookmark (without actually moving to the folder)
