Automatically Lock & Unlock when editing from Web App using Box Edit
CURRENT UX: User must remember to manually lock and unlock each file once done editing, which is a subpar experience for the user.
DESIRED UX: When using 'open with' via the webapp (Box Edit), the file is auto-locked (via a prompt), and when the user closes out of the file, it is automatically unlocked.
201 votesWe understand the request, but unfortunately this is not on the near-term roadmap. We are currently prioritizing automatically locking/unlocking files on Box Drive for Office files on Windows. We will revisit this feature in the future.

Box Tools - Excel as default application for CSV and XLS
We would like Box Edit to have Excel as the default application for all excel files, including CSV.
Right now we run into an issue with CSV files where it is necessary to perform an operation to copy and then paste to Excel from Notepad. (Since opening CSV files might cause garble due to a character code (UTF-8), we are opening Notepad first and then open Excel files)
Another workaround would be editing the registry which is risky and inconvenient - which is why we would like Edit to automatically open CSV with Excel as the default60 votesWe don’t plan to implement this exception in Box Tools. However, we’re working on a related solution: the ability to open files in Finder/Explorer via Box Drive, where you can then choose to open them with a different app. Stay tuned for updates.

49 votesBecause of the downstream impacts, we will not be solving this problem as requested. We will be looking at a more holistic approach to prevent unintended consequences of file operations.

If a user locks the file, it should be only unlockable by that user and an administrator, not other Editors
Other users unlocking defeats the purpose of locking in the first place.

Want the Box Edit cache parameter to be modifiable (Currently set as deleted after 7 days) or option for cache to clear as soon the sync process has completed

Increase Keynote collaboration size limit to match Apples.
Apples iCloud offers users a 2GB Keynote collaboration limit.

Support the SheetView when using Excel Online by Box Edit
When filtering an excel file on Box by Excel Online, the filter does reflect to the other users. We would like an option to have the independent filter between users. For Microsoft environment, the Sheet View is now generally available so we want the same functionality on Box as well.

Ability to tag groups
I want a function like Teams' "tag".
Currently, only individuals can mention comments in the data saved in the box,
I would like to be able to mention in groups.
Can't you make better use of groups in your management console?
One of the features of box is that multiple people can edit the same data at the same time, and there are also convenient functions such as comment fields and mention functions.

Folder Tree View in WebApp (Windows Explorer/Finder, eBuilder)
I noticed that Box does not have a high-level folder tree view, except in the 'All Files' page (you click on the arrow next to "All Files"). Many Box folders in my company's folder structure take a very long time to load - however the folder tree view on the 'All Files' page loads quicker, but still not as fast as another application like eBuilder. Having a permanent option on the web application would be very efficient when tracking down files, and load times won't be as cumbersome. Allow Pin Feature to files
Allow a Pin Feature to allow the user to fully customize filing. Make it possible to pin a file(s) in a folder so it will not move in a numerical or alphabetical order but in the order that works for your company or organization.

Ability to select BoxEdit even when Box for Microsoft Office co-editing is enabled.
When Box for Microsoft Office co-editing is enabled, microsoft office files cannot be edited in Box Edit.
However, there are use cases where we may not want to co-edit.
Even if the Box for Microsoft Office co-editing feature is enabled, we want to choose whether or not we want to edit in Box Edit.

Ability to lock file to prevent other users from editing a file
Lock and Unlock feature: The lock feature should be set so that when the Person A locks a file so that they can work on the file, it should prevent the others listed on the Share from being able to Unlock the file. It defeats the purpose of locking the file if someone else can just unlock it while Person A is still in the midst of editing a file. Allow file to be opened from web UI on double click.
I like that I can see the preview and other information on the file when I click on the name. However, I would prefer for the file to be opened when I double click on it, instead of having to click and then having to go and click on another menu to open in Microsoft Word. It would be great to have the ability to single-click to view the details, as it is now, and double-click to automatically open a file in Microsoft Word.

Automatic update of Box tools from the company LAN via a proxy.
Box Tools automatic update fails in an environment where Internet communication is performed from the company LAN via a proxy.
Please change the BoxTools update "Box Edit Upgrade Service" to the specifications that read the ProxySetting of CurrentUser in the Local System and communicate.
With the current specifications, automatic updates are not possible.
Therefore, every time there is a version update, a manual update is performed, which takes a lot of man-hours.(OS used: Windows10)

Currently Box Edit traffic is not compatible with Proxies where they require Authentication (eg: Basic auth)

Transition from Sandbox to Production
When transitioning from the Sandbox to the Production environment, a tool to automate the transfer of all configuration settings (and relay settings) from the Sandbox to Production would be very helpful. It would also help to prevent errors that can occur with a manual transition.

About the addition of the automatic log deletion function of Box Edit
I understood that the current maximum value for log storage is as follows
