Stop disabling access to content when its owner account is deactivated.
If content owner's account is disabled, any collaborators lose access to said content. A different workflow needs to be put into place to allow these collaborators access to content previously shared with them.
Either automatically transfer ownership to a co-owner or when the original owner account is being suspended, add options for preserving access to other collaborators.

Increase the 10,000 Limit for Groups
Currently if you create more than 10,000 groups, the groups at the bottom of the list alphabetically cannot be searched for when creating a collaboration.
36 votesThis is definitely something that we want to do. However, it is a long term project that will take us more than a year. Marking as ‘not planned’ for now but will update the status once we have more details.

Collaborator Clean Up
Collaborator Clean Up - In Account Settings / Collaborators, we want to add the ability to click on any collaborator and see what files and folders they have access to. When looking at the list, have a button available to remove them from specific folders as needed. This will be especially helpful when performing a CBN, Audit or Digital Clean up.

Collaboration expiration for specific collaborators
Collaboration expiration can only be applied on a folder level at the moment and cannot be applied to specific collaborators. I would like this feature for specific collaborators in a folder.

Eliminate confirmation email for manually created or provisioned accounts
We feel that the confirmation email step should not be utilized with accounts that are manually created in the portal or that are auto provisioned from AD. When we create a new account, there is a "delay" with the new email address being propagated and established in our third-party cloud-based email security system. This causes the new email to be added to the hard bounce list at Box due to the email address not being valid (yet). We understand the need for a confirmation email when it comes to an individual user signing up, but if an account is created…

Co-admin should be able to login to other co-admin accounts and service accounts
Box co-admin should have the ability to log into other co-admin accounts and application services accounts to manage content. Today, you rely on using Box APIs or the primary Box admin account. It would be more convenient for coadmins to use the Box webapp instead.

Set values for "external_app_user_id" of Managed Users
We are developing a tool to extract user data from AD, Azure and other IDMs and provision them to Box via API.
We want to use the user IDs on the IDM as a user external key for Box so that we can track the associated Box account when the email address changes on the IDM side.
However, the current attribute "externalappuser_id" of Box users has the following limitationsOnly the App User can be set as the value.
Only some privileged users, such as service accounts for JWT-authenticated applications, can access this item.
For improved convenience, please…

I would like to have a collaboration role that only allows me to reference shared links.
I would like to have a collaboration role that only allows me to reference shared links.
Alternatives (1) through (3) could not be adopted for a reason.(1) Why not just use the Previewer?
I want to collaborate from the top of the folder tree to prevent confusion about where I collaborated.
For this purpose, I want a collaboration role that can only refer to shared links that cannot refer to other files.(2) Why don't we just create a shared link that is open to everyone and add a password?
If you make it public, you won't know who…12 votes -
invite sharing - save message
When a collaboration invite has been accepted, the "<User> has accepted your invite" message should include the original invite message.
This will remind me why I shared the file with the user and what the user was asked to do with this file.

Need to be able to view group members before adding to a folder
Would be great to be able to see members of a group prior to adding them to a folder. At the moment, even those groups which are listed as being viewable by anyone in the company can't be viewed until AFTER they are added to a folder, unless someone is a group admin. It means that either someone has to contact an admin to be sure they have the right group, or they have to add the group and then check right away to make sure they added the right one.

Ability to have guest accounts
We'd like to have guest Box account for external vendors. Vendors are not allowed to create free Box accounts by their policy. In order to collaborate with external vendors, we'd like to have guest Box account for our vendors.

be group foreign key "external_sync_identifier" as a unique constraint entry.
We are developing a tool to extract group data from IDM such as AD and Azure and project it to Box via API.
We want to use the group ID in IDM as a group foreign key in Box so that when the group name changes on the IDM side, we can track the group in Box that is associated with it.
For this purpose, we use the group attribute item "externalsyncidentifier".
However, since this item is not a unique constraint, there is always a risk of an error due to key duplication.
In order to use this…9 votes -

Ability to set an expiry date for external collaborators
It would be very helpful to secure access to our files if we were able to set an expiry date when inviting external collaborators to a folder. It seems the only option is to share a link with an expiry date, but that leaves it open for the link to be sent to others and doesn't help if a collaborator needs wider access permissions, or just flag it up as a reminder in our Outlook calendars!

Group - Allow the deletion of a list of user
Group Management - Allow the deletion of a list of user.
And do not search user one by one in the group, then click one by one on Remove button and then save ...
When you have hundred users to remove in a group with thousand users, it is boring and time consuming...
To add a group we can add several users at the same time, it is better !8 votes -
Content manager and folder picker for user activity report
Ability for group admin/Business admin to use Contents Manager (and folder picker for user activity report).
Currently, the group admin or admin of Business license cannot choose folder from picker on user activity report because they don't have the permission to view users' contents (or Contents Manager).8 votes -
Prevent paid accounts from inviting free accounts with the same corporate e-mail domain
It'd be good If managed users can't invited free accounts who has the same e-mail domain or notify Admin immediately so Box users can comply with fair use policy.

Augment existing collaborator permissions in inherited subfolders
Scenario:
Folder A is shared with User X with Viewer permission
Folder B is a subfolder of Folder A, on which User X requires Editor permissionAccording to support, the only way to accomplish this in the web UI is to first remove User X as a collaborator on Folder A, add them as an Editor on Folder B, and then re-add them as a Viewer on Folder A
This is clunky, annoying, and results in a lot of extra notifications.
Clearly this is supported by the underlying file system because you can do it directly with the Box CLI:
