Requesting functionality to recognize an existing file name (upon upload of a new file) and option to override or save with a new name.
Issue: End users may have documents coming in via email / etc. about a deal or a client that have the same name. When saving to Box from email, if the file has the same name as an existing file it is currently saved as a new version of that file. In reality, the document may be completely different. On Windows file server, they are used to having a prompt warning them that a file already exists with that name, with an option to either save & override the file or change the file name. Folder-Level Collaborator Reporting: Ability to run a report of which internal and external collaborators are added to an item
Users should be able to run a report of any folder they are an owner or co-owner of to see the list of external collaborators. This would be nice so they could periodically review it and remove stale collaborations.

Make it easier to create a free account for external collaboration
free users account creation is difficult so this lead to lower the usage of external collaboration. Hence, the users are using more shadow IT

Web Clipper
As a user, I would like to bookmark or clip webpage into box. There are two issues on the current "Box Bookmark" as following.
- Box Bookmark needs 2 copy&paste motions (URL and Name) when trying to save a page
- Box Bookmark may be unaccessible when webpage is not available so it should give an option as a screenshot

Expose Metadata (EXIF, Codec, Duration, DPI, Resolution, Rating, etc.) with a "Properties" or "Get Info" like appraoch
Both Windows and macOS can easily expose more info - this includes the rich metadata in any kind of file.
It'd be nice to have an "All Properties" or "More Info" type of file that displays a files full metadata.
This data is already baked into the file and only needs to be exposed or indexed for display/searching.
Examples:
EXIF (camera, model, photographer, exposure settings, etc.), IPTC (keywords, location, description), Movie FPS, Movie Duration, Movie Codec, Movie Audio Channel Count, Image Resolution, Image DPI, Office Document Author, etc.Workflow:

better video preview engine. better video details.
Does the video preview engine handle x264 or x265 content? The whole industry is moving to x265 so ya better consider that. Does it handle .mkv files? Most of our videos dont preview properly. It shows a still frame but clicking the play icon comes up with an error message.
You may notice in windows when you click on a video it tells you about the video in detail like 1920x1080, video tracks x264 hi10 L5.0 audio tracks FLAC 51 (Jpn) (Eng) Subtitle tracks PGS Eng SRT Eng.
would be nice if the details of the file showed this info…

Allow folder owner to report on collaborators in their folders
We would like the ability to have a folder owner search for a specific collaborator to see all the folders (that is owned by the folder owner) that they are collaborating on

Add URLs and email addresses to collaborator invites
We would like the ability to have a URL link and email addresses within the body of Collaboration Invites.
Now URLs are no longer allowed, and our use case was to provide clients we’re sharing data with a link to other pages for context, and an email address for contact, like “alias@domain.com” within the email.
As a work around, we're forced to generate our own emails manually using shared links, which is more cumbersome, prone to user error and potentially less secure.

Search Box Community Help articles from the question mark menu in Box Web
Users should be able to search for help with basic Box concepts right from the Web App.
We suggest adding an input field to the Help (question mark) menu in Box Web.
Users can type phrases like "shared link" or "permissions" and get lead to relevant Box community Help articles.4 votes -
Enhance and support the Box Embed Widget for mobile browsers.
We outsource hosting and presenting documents to Box. We allow our users to upload documents in our app and we upload them to Box via API. Later on, when users want to view the file, we ask the Box API for an iframe URL and embed it in our app. So, in the end, no one is logged in to any box applications, because we use the API under the hood.

User would like to customize the upgrade prompt when users run out of storage
Currently it shows a prompt to upgrade to more storage, but they would like to modify the prompt based on their own internal process.

Cancel all uploads
A button that allows us to cancel all uploads via the web console. If we mistakenly drag and drop the wrong folder to be uploaded, it would be nice if we could cancel the entire upload instead canceling each individual file. (especially for really big folders with thousands of files)

One-Click shared link generation as Enterprise setting
The recent change to Box sharing means that you now have up to 3 clicks to get a shared link on your clipboard - click Share, then toggle the link on, then copy to clipboard. This annoys our users, who liked the old way, where clicking Share would automatically generate the link.
I think this change was motivated by feedback like this, where enterprises that choose to default to People With the Link permission sometimes end up with a lot of accidental open links:

Sort underscores consistently
We would like for Box to sort files and folders the same as our computers. Right now, files and folders with an underscore at the beginning of the name are sorted at the end, but our computers sort them at the beginning.

how to unselect is not intuitive
If I have selected a file, to see its details etc. it's not obvious how to unselect it so I can go back to viewing the folder details.
I tried clicking on the whitespace (windows analogy) but it did nothing. After some random clicking about I found, to deselect I must click the "xxxx is selected" text at the top of the page. This doesn't seem intuitive. Perhaps adding a "cancel" cross next to it, similar to the "clear" buttons in search boxes would provide a clue.1 vote
