  1. Add additional details in the the virus detection notification email

During this time (2022/02/28, Monday, 13:00), I received a virus detection notification email.
When I checked the contents, the upload date by virus detection notification email is 2020/06/16 9:36:17 JST,
Neither the target file was found in the path of the email presentation.

I contacted MKI Box Support Desk.
    We received the following answers.

"The virus scan seems to be rescanned accordingly based on the activity of the file, not only at the time of upload.
The frequency of scans is determined by the number of file activity.
It can be difficult to explain the consistency of when this notification…

  2. Shield classification user permissions

Request to make classification application settings specific to the classification. Currently, the setting for who can apply/remove a classification is for all classifications, but there are cases where it would be helpful that a classification to be only applied by owners and other where co-owner, or even editor would be allowed to apply certain classifications.

    Examples:
    1. A classification tied to a Shield access control rule that only owners can apply or remove
    2. A classification tied to a Shield access control rule that owner/co-owners can apply or remove
    3. A classification identifying a type of content that owners/co-owner/editors can…

  3. Make Shield Lists Accessible via API

Shield lists are not currently editable using an API endpoint. In order to make it possible to automate adding and removing entries to lists, I suggest making it possible to create/view/edit/delete shield lists using the Box API.

  4. Limit applying a classification label to a specific user group

I want to be able to limit the permission on a particular classification label. I have a class label that I want only a specific user group to be able to apply. There is an approval process in place (via Box Relay) for labeling content with the specific class label, and I don't want my users to be able to use that label without going through the approval process or limit it so only the admin group can apply the class label. Thanks!

  5. Make classification labels visible without selection

Currently you must select a folder to see if it's classified. A customer of mine would prefer to see that a folder is classified without having to select it.

  6. Import shield classification pattern values from a xls or doc

Ability to import custom terms from a xls - the ability to import any shield value (ex email domains) from a xls or doc is important because that is how they manage such lists with other applications

  7. Access policies for individual folders

Would it be possible to set up access policies that can be applied per-folder instead of by Classification label?

We have Ethical Walls and security concerns where we need to prevent sharing of files of Client A with Client B and also with preventing individual users from being shared folders.

One way to do this would be classification policies - but I have far more clients than the twenty five label limit.

The way around this would be to allow access policies by folder, regardless of classification, as well as the Box-wide access policy for unclassified content.

    Client A -…

  8. I would like the access policy to have preview only functionality

I would like the access policy to have preview only functionality.
If only some files in a folder with editor privileges can be set to preview, there is no need to create a separate folder.

  9. If the access policy restricts download and printing, Excel files cannot be co-edited with MS Excel Online

Excel files cannot be co-edited in MS Excel Online if the access policy restricts downloading and printing.
One of the purposes of using Excel Online is co-editing.
I would like to be able to co-edit in a situation where downloads are restricted.

  11. Block file extensions lists in Shield malware detection

As part of Governance it is possible to move certain file types to a Quarantine folder. This is useful for a lot of ransomwares, as they change the extension of files.

Currently this "old" functionality has not yet been moved to Shield. Shield does have a malware detection, which uses threat detection technology. We would like to have the ability to extend this with a list of known extensions.

  12. Take action on user based on Threat Detection Shield Rule

Extending threat detection ALERTS to take action on a user's access would be very valuable. I've heard lots of customers request having a user's account deactivated if they access Box from a suspicious location. Right now, there is not a way to do this through the core Box application, it has to be done through custom scripting or with another tool.

Automatically re-route content flagged by Box Shield Malware scan to a specific folder owned by IT/InfoSec/Admin. After the IT/InfoSec/Admin team approved the folder/file as safe, then release it back to its original location.

  15. Smart Access: Allow move/copy even with download restriction

Download restriction restricts external users (editor permission) from moving content within folders they have access to. There should be an option to restrict download but also allow for moving and copying within folders that have the classification policy because to an end user, this is not a download function.

  18. Uploading restrictions for folders to which Box Shield's "External Collaborator Restrictions" are applied

We would like to be able to restrict users from uploading files and folders to folders to which BoxShield's "External Collaborator Restrictions" have been applied by dragging and dropping them into the browser.
By granting users the authority to edit and prohibiting uploads, it will be possible to more clearly distinguish between file management and access authority management, and allow editing while maintaining a level of security.

  19. Show Auto-Classification Criteria Matches on Classification Label On File

Auto-classification matches are currently stored within metadata on a file. If auto-classification classifies a piece of content, we'd like for the classification label indicator on a file (or hovering over the label) to show what criteria was met which requires a specific label. The purpose of this is to have a visual indicator to reinforce the sensitivity of content within a file.
