Delete user without transferring content when using legal hold
【Background】
1. When "Legal Hold" is ON but no "Retention Policy" set
2. When I try to delete a user that is not related to the legal hold above, they need to transfer the content to another user.【Request】
Since it is a user that is not affected by the "Legal Hold", I would like to be able to use that user without transferring the content, which is the behaviour when there is no Governance setting.2 votes -
Allow for conditional rules-based retention policy.
Allow for conditional rules-based retention policy.
Example: For a dealer we need to see what the newest document is based on a metadata field. The field is corporate copy date.
If that is greater than 7 years, then delete all documents with that dealer id.
You need to get a list of all dealer id’s and find the newest corporate copy date. If any dealer id's are greater than 7 years, delete all for that dealer. In a nutshell, we need to hold 7 years of data after there has been an interaction with a dealer.2 votes -
Allow string field to drive the retention policy.

Example: If Text Field = "ABC" then 16-year retention, otherwise 7 years2 votes -
Ability to conduct e-discovery investigations without being noticed by the User
When investigating a lawsuit or security incident, we sometime want to do so without letting the target users know that he/she is under investigation.
In such case, Box admin login to the target account 'as user' from admin console. But under current specification, the target user can know this admin's activities in the 'Access Stats' and Activities in Box UI.
So I want Box to enhance the function that admin or co-admin can login as user and investigate without letting the target users know that he/she is under investigation.

Create custom alerts if user/subset of users performs "X" amount of Downloads/Copies in "Y" amount of time
We would like the ability to Create custom alerts to send email notifications if any user, or a specific subset of users, performs "X" amount of Downloads/Copies/Shares/Uploads/etc in "Y" amount of time (where we can select what "X" and "Y" are). We know that there is a way to setup a "Content Security - Download" policy that will send email notifications if download activity is "Low, Medium or High" based on your preset definitions of what that means (for instance "High = 12 per hour" in the preset rule), but that doesn't necessarily correspond to what we would want to…

restrict by file type at folder level
Would like the ability to restrict File Types at the folder level, (with Waterfall rule would be ok, but ability to break waterfall would be a bonus).
Currently we use Quarantine Policies to restrict .msg files in Box, but does not allow us to make exceptions by folder. (eg. to allow certain departments this ability, but block from others).2 votes -
Governance, Retention policy for folders with no content
hen a retention policy removes files, it's possible to end up in a situation where there is a very long list of folders without any files. It would be helpful if there was a way to remove these folders quickly.

Add an event for file being released from legal hold.
We already have an event for removing the legal hold assignment, but that doesn’t tell us if each of the files under that hold is released from the hold or not.

Support EU-specific patterns for upload policies
We would like to see options in upload policies for "If a document contains:" that are not just US-centric, ex: European Identification #‘s

Allow upload policy to move to folder instead of quarantine
instead of flagging/quarantine custom words/numbers with a policy – also would like the option to put those items in a folder.
- Use Case: work with government agencies and are uploading content to box with SSN and other secure documents so would like those to automatically go to a specific file if item is flagged2 votesThis specific use-case isn’t planned at this time, however, we are investigating if we could apply a classification policy instead.

Add ability to query if a user is under Legal Hold via API
Currently, Legal Hold objects have assignments, and if you get information about the assignments via the API you could see if a user was assigned to them.
However, we want to access it from the user perspective - something like an islegalheld field on the user object.

Version number in Legal Holds Report
Legal Holds Report includes "File Version ID", but this value is like "109680448118".
We have to call APIs to get the actual version number. It's more useful to include "sequence_id" in Legal Holds Report.
2 votesThank you for the submission! This is not work we have scoped in the near term, but will reconsider with additional customers supporting this suggestion.

Option to delete the folder alongside Permanently delete content policy
We auto-delete completed projects after 30 days and would like to automate this process with retention policies.
Currently, a Permanently delete content policy only deletes the content within a folder, however, we need the folder itself deleted because it contains the confidential name of the project.
2 votesThis is currently not on the roadmap as we have not heard this request from many other customers. We will consider it in the future if there is increased customer demand.

Change Co-Admin Permission to Only Require 'View & Edit Policies'
Right now, in order for a co-admin to be able to view and edit Legal Hold policies (matters), they need a weird mix of unintuitive co-admin permissions (including 'view users content').

Upload policies catching too many false positives
137 files flagged so far today for Social Security Violation. Here is the warning information: File attached.
I am getting so many false positives that I would need a team to look at every single file that gets flagged. The scanning engine is terrible. Please escalate to your internal dev group so it can get fixed.

Box Governance should be enabled for managed users
We have observed that for Relay, there is an option titled "Relay enabled for all managed users." However, we couldn't find a similar option for Box Governance [tried with a co-admin privileged account].
Moreover, we found that only for the co-admins, policies of using Box governance can be enabled. Our specific request is to have the functionality to enable Box Governance for all managed users (not only the admin/co-admins), allowing each user to utilize these features individually.
