Today, if I click on an expired shared link I cannot access the file. Ideally, I'd like the content owner to be notified if I click on the expired shared link so that they know that I'm trying to access it/can make it available to me.1 vote
If a file is shared online, get a notification regarding what is shared and by who.1 vote
In the current version of Box Relay, you can set a deadline when assigning a task.
However, after setting a deadline for approval, it would be nice if there was a function to send a reminder X days before the specified deadline so that the approval is not overlooked.
Please add a function to send a reminder at a specified date and time before the specified deadline to prevent the approval from being overlooked.
it would be nice if we received messages about out of office notes or e-mail errors (wrong address) for invitations and, for example, workflows. At the moment I don't know if someone just didn't respond or didn't receive the invitation / task.

Integrate a switch to turn off pop-up notifications (those which pop up for every single step or process).
Maybe have different levels of notifications, like for debugging ("none" to "confirm every step")
There are way too many pop-ups in Box worsening the "user-experience".
See what can happen, if you have daily several hundreds or thousands of clicks too much to do for unnecessary things like clicking away pop-up windows which notify you about things you already know you have done (like another user put it so aptly into Box community):
Let everyone choose individual Box-feedback levels for themselves…5 votes
In the current version of the Box product, there is no feature available to notify a user or a user group for that matter, of any uploads of specific file types or specific tags on files.
We would like for our users to be able to be notified of uploads of specific files in a given folder instead of being inundated with notification emails for every upload done in a folder.1 vote
Problem: Whenever a notification popup shows up (file is done uploading, file has moved, etc) it blocks access to a lot of functionality in the upper part of the screen - even something that is to the left or right of the notification but is not covered up.
Rather than having a popup notification to tell you that an event has finished (such as a file or folder being moved), instead create a static notification area to report to.1 vote
A customer of ours reached out to ask if it is possible to configure email notifications for a Box folder to send to anyone who uploads a document into this folder. Specifically she is asking whether an automatic reply email can be created and sent to anyone who uploads a file into a folder she owns. This folder is for admissions purposes, so having every uploader adjust their email notification settings is not a practical solution in this case. Since this is not currently an option for Box, I wanted to submit this feedback to suggest for future releases.1 vote
For teams that are actively working on a single document, the lock/unlock feature is nice to prevent version control issues. However, it would be nice to have additional notifications are this feature, namely:
- "Notify me when this file is unlocked"
- "Warn me [the person who locked the file] when the file lock is about to expire"
- "Warn me [the person who locked the file] if I've left the file locked AND inactive for more than X minutes"
I make Outlook email rules to keep all my projects organized, however I have multiple projects in Box . Issue being Box Update emails have zero reference to project or main folder name, so if I make a rule for Box Updates all my box updates get lumped in to one Outlook email folder. If there is any way to customize the email notifications(either custom project name or main folder name), please let me know. That would be very helpful2 votes
Enterprise Settings > Content & Sharing > Invited collaborators expiration settings > Notify affected users
Currently, we know scope of the notification includes co-owner who is collaborated in the folder itself.
But, we would like you to also notify co-owner who is collaborated in upper folder.2 votes
Allow granular controls for disabling "Mail All" function for file/folder shares with collaborators.
Allow companies to disable the "Mail All" function of the Collaboration page of a File/Folder so that hundreds/thousands of collaborators of a large company wide share cant be sent notifications errantly, causing a lot of unnecessary noise.1 vote
It would be great if we can view all notifications in one webpage the same as you can do with tasks instead of just a drop down window.3 votes
Many customers in regulated industries do NOT like the fact that email notifications from Box come from the Box Service with a firstname.lastname@example.org email address. The emails that Box sends on the user behalf do not go through a customer's email security or e-discovery system thus it creates problems in regulated environment that need to capture ALL communications between internal users and external customers. Box needs to have a configuration where a customer can configure their own SMTP gateway that Box can use to send email notifications with the proper TO and FROM data so they can better document and…5 votes
Currently, there are two ways to set up email notifications: from [Account Settings] and [Folder Settings].
The name "Folder Settings" may be misleading.
The reason for this is that the name [Folder Settings] seems to affect users who are invited to the folder as collaborators.
Therefore, please add a note to [Folder Settings] that the scope of the effect is only the user who made the setting, and that the effect is not reflected on users who are collaborating on the folder.

Our team would love to only receive Box notifications via Teams.
Currently, you cannot turn off some notifications to go to your email, like when someone tags you in a comment.
We would like the ability to disable this manually. Some users would like to have both options.4 votes
