Edit Box files directly in Teams
When files are stored directly inside of Teams, you can click on these files and “Edit in Teams” directly. If you click on files sourced from Box, however, you get an ugly preview of the file and have to navigate to Box in order to make edits, which is a clunky experience.
Doing this will require Box to inherit sharing rules as defined in Teams. In other words, I should be allowed to at least view if not edit files shared with me in Teams, even if I don't have access to the underlying folder in Box. Perhaps it could be an option within the Box integration to either permit or deny this kind of sharing rule inheritance.
Working with Microsoft on scoping and planning.

We've now added the ability to initiate editing of a file from the Box Files tab in Teams. If a user selects a web editor (e.g., Google docs) they will be taken to a browser session to directly edit that file. If a user selects a desktop editor (e.g., Microsoft Office), the native desktop editor will open for editing and change save back to Box.
We will continue exploring edit capabilities from Teams and specifically editing in Teams in the future. We have no timeline yet for this.
This is a show-stopper issue. Users will use SharePoint in preference to Box without this functionality. This is result, for our organisations, is against our compliance policies and also could mean removing Box from our business
