Default Search Everywhere
While I understand the need to search only in a folder, my company uses the search everywhere function way more.
Is there a way to make the search "everywhere" option the default instead of search "only in this folder"? It slows us down so much right now having to switch it to find a different folder without going back to the home page, or switching the search feature.

Please go back to the old search function. Now, when you search anything it only looks in the folder you are in. So, if I am deep in a client's folder (and folder inside folder inside folder) and then want to look for a different client, I have to type in their name and then click the small button that says "Everywhere". It is extremely frustrating to have to constantly make that adjustment and it also takes away the predictive search function. It is just clunky, time wasting, and makes no sense

The new search feature where you have to manually click EVERYTHING just to get anything to appear is extremely frustrating. I'm always searching through everything, so unless I click this every single time, search returns nothing. I'm losing my mind. This new search feature should be removed please!
It's fine to keep the current folder as a optional button that you could select to narrow down search results, but I strongly feel that the default search option should be EVERYTHING.

The most recent update to box has made the search feature default to files. I prefer to search for folders. Can this setting be implemented?

Make "Everywhere" the default for search! And "within current folder" optional with a click.
If some people prefer to have search "Within current folder" be the default, then can you let us select our preferred default for search.
Ever since you changed this (early Sept 2024), it requires an extra click for every search.

I believe Box recently made an update to the "Search" bar where now when searching, it will only search inside the folder you are already in instead of defaulting to "Everywhere". We now have to click "Everywhere" if we are already in a folder and everyone in our office loathes this new update. We hope you change back to the way it was before.

In August 2024, Box enhanced its search function.

when I search for a file, the following two options are displayed:- Everywhere
- In ABC folder"In ABC folder" is now selected by default.
We find it difficult to use search.
We would like to have the ability to change the default selection to "Everywhere". -

These defaults should be configurable per user.

When typing in the search bar, the new update prompts you to search "in ______ folder" that you are currently in rather than the entirety of box. It's super annoying and its terrible, please un-do this update as it's making our lives harder.

Since the update we need to click on the parent folder every time we search instead of having the "Search only inside of" box remain checked. This also complicates things, if you chose something you already searched for, it searches "Everything" instead of the folder we are in. If you want to search the folder you are in, you have to manually type every time. This is a tremendous waste of time where my team searches for documents 100s of times in a day.
