Provide API's to Shared Link Settings
A few business units feel very strongly that our configuration of defaults for Box accounts is not secure enough. They want the option for teams to opt in to a more securely provisioned account. As long as there are APIs for these account defaults and we are able to identify the users, we should be able to script it.

Ability to import/export group information to edit
To edit group settings efficiently, it's helpful that Box Admin can import/export group information for bulk edit.
8 votesThere is a clear ask for bulk operations (edit/delete/add) for user management in the Admin Console, but we are currently focusing on making our user management pages and APIs scale and perform more quickly. While this is on our radar, we are not currently prioritizing this on our near term roadmap.

Bulk Delete (Delete 2 or more users at once)
Add a native Bulk Delete tool on the Users tab of the Admin Console to complement the existing Bulk Add and Bulk Edit tools that we already have.
Key Asks:
1. Use a similar Excel sheet as the Bulk Add/Bulk Edit tool
2. Ability to have a column with the user email to be deleted
3. A column to choose who to automatically transfer the user's content to (the spreadsheet version of the existing Delete & Transfer UI that we have)
4. Columns to choose whether to notify each user (the user being deleted and the user receiving the deleted…42 votesWe are not planning releasing bulk delete functionality at this time since we are focusing our efforts on building faster and more usable users pages. We will revisit this feature request next year.

Thank you for your submission. However, this does not have enough demand in order to be prioritized.
We will reconsider with additional use cases.

Bulk Edit - Add Email Alias Column(s) to Bulk Edit Spreadsheet
Currently there's no way for an admin to manage/edit email aliases for their users in bulk via the Admin Console (they must develop custom scripting to do so).
REQUEST: Add the ability to edit/add email aliases for users when using the Bulk Edit feature (meaning add an alias column to the spreadsheet that allows the user to enter multiple aliases in one cell, separated by a delimeter like a semicolon - exactly what we already have for the Groups column of the spreadsheet).

Prevent users from creating accounts with "/" or "\" in the username
When users delete and transfer content in Box, a new folder will be created in the new users folder with a users username if that username include a / or \ if will throw and error. To prevent this from happening, please add restrictions in the username to prevent new accounts from being created with "/" or "\"

Email Notifications to Be Sent to Users to Alert Them of Pending Shared Link Expiration
When an owner invites a collaborator to a shared folder that has a file set to expire, there could be a little box that gives the option to send a courtesy reminder email to the collaborator x amount of hours in advance (48 for example) so they know to check the folder if they haven't already.

Customize 'Get Training' Link in '?' Menu
Currently the '?' menu in the webapp header includes a few links, including the following blurb: "Need more help? Visit our Help Center or Get Training"
'Help Center' by default links to the Box Community site (community.box.com), but we allow admins to override this link via the 'Support Site URL' field in Admin Console -> Enterprise Settings -> Custom Setup.
'Get Training' is also linked in the blurb above (linking to training.box.com), but we currently do NOT allow admins to customize this URL.
This is problematic for some customers (especially large customers) that have fully staffed internal training teams that…

SSO Required to have exemptions for Admin(s)
This actually makes a lot of sense as we have it for Device Trust, but we would like SSO Required WHILST exempting an admin or two. If the IdP is down, no one can get in and this would create a catastrophic business impact.

Account Settings - Home Page: Allow Co-Admins to Make Admin Console Their Home Page
Within the new UI, a new user-level setting was added to Account Settings that allows users to choose their default Home Page in Box - All Files, Favorites, or Recents.
Additionally, Primary Admins can choose to have the Admin Console as their homepage. However, Co-Admins do not see this option.
REQUEST: Allow Co-Admins to also choose the Admin Console as their Home Page

Merge Users - Ability to Merge 2 or More Accounts Into 1
A 'merge users' feature would help with the initial administrative burden of cleaning up existing accounts.
Key asks:
--The ability to choose 2 or more Managed Users in Box to merge
--The ability to choose which email becomes the primary email for the user (thus which account will become the owner of the other account's owned content)
--The ability to choose whether demoted emails should be retained as email aliases or simply removed from the user's (updated) profile
--The ability to choose whether existing collaborations on externally-owned folders are retained (meaning account 2 is invited into an external folder, when…25 votesWe are currently re-designing our managed users page for performance and usability updates which will be released at the end of this year. We will revisit newer features to user management after we release our new UI. In the meantime, please add your use cases in the comments so we can have this feedback when we decide to pick this up.

Bulk Edit - Add Ability to Change Primary Email Addresses
Bulk Edit currently allows admins to change various settings for users, but it does not allow the admin to 'bulk edit' the primary email addresses for their users. This functionality would be handy in various scenarios, including when a company goes through an email domain change.
Right now, customers must come to Box (Customer Success) to have us run scripts in Internal Admin to do bulk email changes as we do not have this feature natively in Bulk Edit within the Admin Console.

Usage Logs and Admin Events don't report version reversion
ITEMMAKECURRENT_VERSION is a Standard User Event in the API but doesn't show up in Usage Logs or Admin Events.
When a previous version of a file is promoted as the latest version, we do not receive an enterprise notification for that.
If we quarantine a file (create tombstone as say version 2) and the user makes the v1 version as latest (v3), then the event received is of type user event and not an enterprise event, which makes us not be able to process such a change.

Usage Logs - Include WebDAV Login Actions
We currently don't see WebDAV login activities in the Usage Report. We want to see the log for WebDAV failure logins for security reasons.
2 votesThis is a resource-intensive request which is not on our short-term roadmap. We will update you if anything changes.

Bulk Edit - Add 'Status' column to Bulk Edit spreadsheet
There is no way in the Admin Console to update 'status' (active, inactive, etc.) for 2 or more users at once (aka in bulk).
22 votesEnhancements to the Bulk Add/Edit feature are not currently on the roadmap, but will keep track of this request and consider prioritizing if many customers are requesting it. User status can be edited via API or SAML

Change Unique Identifier to Something other than Email Address
This is the grouping for the common request for Box to use a unique identifier other than email address for managed users.
Key pain point with the fact that Box uses email address as the unique identifier: Email addresses change often in large companies, thus requiring these companies to use custom API scripting to keep emails in Box updated based on changes in AD.
This unique identifier (whether a mapped value from the customer's user store, aka AD, or the Box unique user ID) should also be the identifier used when users authenticate to Box using SSO (via SAML).
20 votesThis feature request isn’t currently planned on the roadmap, but we are considering the notion of user attributes that can be placed on a user and then used for better context while sharing / collaborating and searching in the Admin Console.
Please provide more use cases in the comments to help us understand the problem better.

Report on all Upload email addresses that are created
Currently we can create a report on shared links. There is not a way to track all upload email addresses that have been created. The features surrounding upload email addresses is rather limited compared to the features associated with shared links.

Personal Folder Auto-Creation
Similar to the Okta feature (https://support.okta.com/help/articles/Knowledge_Article/36802318-Configuring-Box-to-Create-a-Personal-Shared-Folder), this request is for a native option in Box to automatically provision a 'personal folder' for each user upon provisioning (whether provisioned manually, via Bulk Add, or via auto-provisioning).
Key Requests for this feature:
--Ability to customize the name of the folder that's created (such as choosing the user's name + 'Personal Folder' or other custom strings of text)
--The user's personal folder will be created in their own account and they'll be the owner of it, with no other users in it (even if restrict content creation is turned on)18 votes
