  1. Report on all Upload email addresses that are created

    Currently we can create a report on shared links. There is not a way to track all upload email addresses that have been created. The features surrounding upload email addresses is rather limited compared to the features associated with shared links.

  2. New User-Level Field: "User Description" (Free Text)

    Other applications (like Slack) have a user-level free text field (similar to a User Description / Information field) where admins or users can enter free text to describe the user.

  3. Usage Logs - Indefinite Timeframe for Retrieval (Extend Current 7 Year Limit)

    Currently Box Usage Logs are retained by Box for 7 years. Box customers can export up to 7 years worth of Usage Logs from the Box Admin Console.

    As a customer, I want that 7 year limit to be raised to 'indefinitely,' meaning we can pull Usage Logs for actions taken at any point in time, not just the past 7 years.

    REQUEST: Remove 7 year limit for Admin Console Usage Logs exports.

  4. Add Sort by 'Status' Option to Managed Users Page

    Add the ability to sort by user status (active, inactive, cannot edit & delete, cannot upload edit & delete) to the Managed User page in the Admin Console.

    We are re-designing the managed users page and will focus on adding advanced filtering of managed users by status as a follow up. Right now, releasing the re-design will be our first priority, so filtering by status is not on the near-term
    (6 month) roadmap. We will revisit this after we release the new page.

  5. Tracking Codes via SAML

    REQUEST: The ability to add tracking codes as part of the SAML assertion. Currently Tracking Codes must be managed manually in the Admin Console or vis API.

  7. Enable searching for groups by name

    We have ~1500 employees and many legacy group. We are working to create a new group structure and have a need to search for similar groups by name to create a mapping to consolidate their groups.

    Customers can use the Get Enterprise Groups API to retrieve groups by name: https://developer.box.com/v2.0/reference.

    However, we do not provide this functionality through the Groups UI in the Admin Console. This suggestion is not under consideration for the current or future roadmap because we are currently focusing on improving the user interface and performance to manage users.

  8. Pass pictures or thumbnail images via SSO

    Request: pass up the "thumbnailPhoto" attribute out of AD (picture in hex form) to Box.

    Happy to review. Can you provide more clarity on the use case/reason here? Are you hitting a scale issue, or is there some data you’d like added to the report?

  10. Upload/Change User Avatars (Profile Pictures) from Managed Users Page in Admin Console

    Currently user avatars (profile pictures) can only be added, removed, or changed from an individual user's account settings and these avatars are not editable whatsoever via the admin console. Meaning for an admin to add one on behalf of a user or to remove one, they must use instant log in (which not many co-admins have).

    When clicking to edit a user from the Admin Console -> Managed Users page, options to manage the user's avatar should be presented (just like we have for editing their name, email, etc.).

    This proposed enhancement to email notifications and to custom branding is a reasonable idea, but an area that we are unlikely to invest in this year.

  14. Aliases - Better Email Alias Management from Managed Users Page

    Currently, email aliases for users are poorly exposed in the Users page of the Admin Console and we also provide poor alias management functions on the users tab too.

    Key Gaps:
    1. No ability to promote an alias to be primary directly from the Managed Users page (must use instant log in - which not all co-admins have - in order to make this change)
    2. No ability to remove an alias from the Managed Users page

    This suggestion is not under consideration for the current or future roadmap. We are currently focusing on improving the performance and user interface to manage users before we add enhancements to manage email aliases.

  15. "Failed logins" on Enterprise Settings should clear the number of failed login when a user logins successfully

    Currently, the number of failed login piles up even after a user logins successfully. It's strange, so it should be cleared when a user logins successfully.

  16. Change the default message in text Box when inviting new collaborator to a folder

    Would like to be able to change the default text in this section to another default text. Currently, you can manually edit this section every time you add a new user to a folder. We want to be able to change what populates this section by default.

    We are unlikely to build a setting to enable changes to this default. However, if there is a better default message that may work for all of our customers, we are happy to reconsider.

  17. Usage stats per region of the world (Global stats)

    We have global offices / teams dispersed globally. Admin teams currently have no way to monitor Box usage broken down by these teams (workaround suggestion is to create groups by office, but lots of admin overhead).

    Suggestion is to use localization settings, IP address, or Box regional setting and categorize by country or region (Europe, APAC, LATAM, NATAM, etc.) to allow admins to report on usage stats by global region. (heat map of the world, etc.) Current reports with an additional column/filter.

  18. Ability to create a custom group name that will be displayed on the collaborator list without affecting the SSO integration

    Currently, groups only have names unlike user accounts that have names and aliases. However, since we have SSO groups enabled, we have found that is impossible to rename groups without causing issues.

    Because of SSO groups, we had to have a specific naming convention for our groups so we can know which groups to send to Box. All our group names begin with COMPANYBOXPD and then the corresponding team name. Since these groups are shown as collaborators, it will be nice to be able to edit the group to display a user friendly group rather than the technical…

  20. Co-Admin actions in admin console should appear as part of the event stream

    1. When a Co-Admin kicks off a report in the admin console
