  1. Report on all Upload email addresses that are created

Currently we can create a report on shared links. There is not a way to track all upload email addresses that have been created. The features surrounding upload email addresses is rather limited compared to the features associated with shared links.

  2. Viewers of watermarked files can download file before previewing it

Owner of folder wants to have users be able to mass download files within watermarked folder. In the current way, user has to preview each file individually before seeing option to download.

  3. Ability to add attachments to Box Notes

As a collaborative editing tool, attaching related materials would be useful in many situations (today, we upload the attachments & link to them, but this presents access limitations & additional steps.)

This is essentially already allowed with the upload ability of image types, but given file level collaboration, having attachments would solve numerous issues our teams are starting to encounter.

  4. Ability for Reply to Box Shared Link Emails to be sent directly to sender

When using the Box's Email Shared Link, there is no bounce back email or there is no way to track or reply to the email (the address has the name of the sender with a Box no reply email address).

Request: Have email of the sender instead of the no reply box email address

  5. Force the Box iOS / Box Android / Box EMM applications to re-authenticate more often than every 60 days.

Ideally, we would like for the timeframe to be user definable.

This is an important security requirement for us as we move into supporting non-GFE devices, so please do let us know if you need additional information.

The mobile app is built on top of our APIs and therefore adheres to the standard token durations. Applications that are managed through an EMM provider already provide an advanced level of security that reduces overall risk.

As a workaround, through your EMM provider, you could revoke the Box application and force users to reinstall on whatever basis you deem appropriate.

Some providers may also allow you to revoke the managed app config which will force Box for EMM to log the user out.

At some point, however, you would have to push the managed app config back down to the device.

  7. Add global setting where you can set folders on global level to sync to desktop

Currently have app that sets certain folders for offline access but would like to do that within Box as a global setting to set certain folders/files available for offline access.

Thank you for your submission. However, this does not have enough demand in order to be prioritized.

We will reconsider with additional use cases.

  9. Ability to customize download policy thresholds

Currently the policy thresholds are automatically set by our algorithms, and the policy is triggered on a per minute rate basis and one hour time window. This has caused alert fatigue for the customer because so many notifications are generated every few minutes based on these thresholds that they aren't able to update or customize.

We will be looking at how to reduce the noise but it might not be through enabling customization.

  11. Add SHA1 hash value to event stream for applicable events

We have built a custom event stream logging application to maintain a local database of shared links and their targets. We would like a SHA hash to be added to the event stream for applicable events (shared link create, file upload, file download, etc.) to ensure we can identify uniquely the file version in use in a defensible fashion.

  12. Ability to get all folder/file information by "Splunk Add-on for Box"

When we tried to get all folder/file information in our Box environment, Splunk can't get it because the "Splunk Add-on for Box" package simply gets information only of the API key user who is actually an super admin.

if all folders are owned by a super admin, there is no issue. However, we allow all end users to create their own folder on root level.

Since this app is owned by Splunk, Box has no control over additional features. Please send this request directly to your Splunk account team to get this prioritized on their roadmap.

  13. Control External Collaboration at User Level (not folder level)

Currently, users can have a restriction placed on them that folders owned by that user cannot be collaborated outside of the organization. However, if that user is invited into a folder that allows for external collaboration, that user can invite external collaborators.

We want flexibility to control this at a user by user basis. For example, User A should not be able to invite external collaborators, regardless of folder that they're invited into. However, User B should have the ability to do so (but only within folders that User B owns or within another folder that is set to allow…

Thank you for this request! I’d like to see additional customers with use cases for user-level collaboration restrictions.

Collaboration is a setting that is tied to content rather than users, and I’m not sure that we have evidence yet to make changes to that model.

  15. Slack: Sync 'Comments' on Files Between Box & Slack

Right now, when using the Box + Slack integration, Slack imports a 'pointer' to a Box file (when a shared link is posted), and then keeps that file's search index updates based on changes that happen in Box.

REQUEST: Extend this integration further to sync any Comments made on the file between Box and Slack.

In Slack, I can add a Comment to the imported Box file by clicking 'add comment', and in Box I can 'add Comment' -- it'd be nice if the comment added to the file directly in Slack also synced and was added automatically as a…

There are several workarounds to achieve this in the current product, so we will not prioritize this feature in our roadmap.

  17. Send out expiration notifications to folder co-owners

We currently only send out expiration notifications to the folder owner and not the co-owner

  18. WebEx integration

Ability to save WebEx recorded meetings directly to Box

Ability to pull documents into a WebEx room from Box.

Ability to save documents/notes/whiteboards back to Box.

  19. Drag and drop files from Box into a document

Our users have all of their content/ media files/ images stored in Box. They routinely drag and drop images to a document (PPT, Word etc.) to prepare docs.

Right now, unless users sync all their files, they cannot drag and drop the file into a document. They have to download it and then add it to doc.

Thanks for the feedback! There is no workaround for this use case at this time.

  20. Require password when sharing with external users

There is a regulation in Japan called the privacy mark, where obtaining this qualification you need to put a password on all files you share outside of your company. Without this qualification you are not allowed to do business in certain industries
