Add support for RDS/Terminal Services
Add support for Box for Desktop to work on a true "thin" client

This was delivered in Box Drive v2.16! You can view more details on this feature here: https://support.box.com/hc/en-us/articles/360052068394-Using-Box-Drive-in-Multi-User-Environments

Our company has a large portion of users using thin clients, and using virtual desktops. for anyone using VDI, this would be a super important feature to implement. We may even have to consider other options if this will not be supported.

Glad to see now under consideration (as of Oct). Any update to possible timeline of when it would move from under consideration to 'on timeline'?

Some use cases a s why this is so needed:
Our firm is entirely using virtual desktop (Citrix). Need Box Drive to work on one one virtual serve with multiple users simultaneously.
1. Right now we are using local mapping to access the local Box Drive. So, all of our users have Box Drive installed locally which creates a security issue (ie going outside our controlled environment)2. Instead of only having to manage one install (on the server), have to manage Box Drive on every machine where it is locally installed.
3. Box Drive has to be installed on every machine the user uses. If they have a work desktop, company laptop, home PC, have to install/maintain on each. With each new machine, there is a new local path so different explorer shortcuts need to be created for each.
4. Speed/Performance: Going through a local path is much slower

So badly needed. Please put on your roadmap.

In my organization, a quarter of our users are on Terminal Servers. Without Box Drive, Box is not a viable alternative to a standard SMB share or Windows file server.

We have a relatively new large BOX deployment, and the need for BOX Drive to run on Windows Terminal Server is almost a necessity. This is functionality that we honestly just assumed would have already been available. We would strongly urge BOX to develop/release a version of BOX Drive that runs on Terminal Servers (especially since similar file sharing services already have such functionality available).

We have a fairly large BOX deployment and honestly just assumed that BOX drive would work in a Terminal Server environment. We have 50+ users that remote into WIndows 2008 R2 and Windows 2016 Terminal Servers, and having BOX Drive available for these users is almost a necessity for our new deployment. We would strongly urge BOX to develop/release a version of BOX Drive that will work in a Windows Terminal Server environment.

The version of windows server 2008 instance is used by many users. The entire desktop is published for all users. Not also using Citrix Sharefile. The virtual infrastructure is deployed for all users. We have always used a virtual infrastructure and all users have thin client devices. It has been deployed for lower TCO and reduction in IT infrastructure cost. The virtual infrastructure data is currently stored on file servers.

Want Box Drive run on a terminal server in multiple instances. Multiple users at the same time streaming from multiple profiles. We do this with other software and Dropbox's similar product works in this scenario
