The Box mobile team has released several new features in the main Box Android app that were previously available only in the Box Capture iOS app. These features include document scanning, audio recording, and Capture Mode - a new way to launch the main Box app directly into the camera view to start snapping photos and immediately uploading to Box.
These features are now available in the main Box iOS and Android apps. For more information, please refer to the following support articles:

Box Capture for Android is desired. "New Normal" initiatives involve me providing an enterprise solution for mobile scanning and I cannot proceed with Capture if it is only supported on iOS. This could be a great New Normal initiative - otherwise, it makes Adobe's Cloud needed and introduces another player into an otherwise Box dominated Collaboration space within my company.

Please Get the Capture app for Android. It is really useful and IDK why there isn't one yet.

I was surprised to find that Capture is still not available for Android. It's a very simple app to use and trying to get employees set up with a separate app is not an easy alternative. Our company has been with Box for over 2 years. When we first started using Capture, I was given the impression that it was only a matter of time before it would be available across platforms. Still hoping!!!!

As Box is HIPPA compliant, the only way to upload images with the phone is through the capture app. Doing so with other apps or even the native camera app doesn't count so we really need this with Android!

It is very shortsighted to develop a very useful application for only one platform in the 21st century. Sure there are other 3rd party apps that can upload into Box but you have to connect them then the "scanned" file is stored on your mobile device and then it also uploaded to Box. If you have the need to keep your documents secure, it would be best to have it straight through one trusted source and not on your local device also.

NEED BOX CAPTURE FOR ANDROID NOW!
It seems ridiculous to me that you are excluding at least half of mobile users from this feature. Get it done. We have recently committed to Box across our field service organization. This realization was a gigantic bummer. -

Box capture needs to be for both major mobile platforms iOS and Android. We have refrained from enabling box capture in our enterprise account because our android users will not have box capture and its features.
Camscanner, does not provide the bundle of features compared to Box capture and has advertisements appearing.

This day in age, why would an app like this only be developed for one mobile platform?

Our field service technicians take photographs on site at customer locations around the country. Location and timestamp metadata are crucial. Because photos uploaded to Box don't transfer with metadata, the technicians send the photos back to the office outside the Box app. Their work orders are stored within the app. We have considered using Box Capture, but want to the process to be universal for both iphone and Android users.

Our organization has emergency response personnel, such as park wardens and fire response staff. These staff take photos on the scenes of flooding and fires. The ability to upload photos and metadata very easily and automatically for collaboration at command centers is an important public safety feature in our eyes. Please increase the priority of this feature for Android devices.

Our team members (Personal Bankers, Relationship Managers, etc.) use iOS and Android devices to serve customers, often at the customer's location instead of a branch. Our iOS team members are able to use Box Capture to upload customer documents directly to the customer's folder in Box, while our Android team members do not have that ability. This means our Android users have to take the customer documents to a branch to be imaged and uploaded to Box. Adding Box Capture for Android will improve our team member experience, encourage adoption of Box, and help us deliver great customer experiences.

It is difficult to verify because there are various devices, but I hope it can be offered only by Google's Pixel series.

There is no reason this application shouldn't be OS agnostic. This was a really weird decision. Probably though of completely in a vacuum like all of these decisions.

This is definitely needed asap.
I was offered Box Capture as a feature - its great!!!
But to find out that it only works for iphone users is a huge disappointment as It makes it difficult to offer "Box Capture" as a office system when only 60% of my staff can use it. -

Many organizations who do field work outside of the US have to use android devices.
