Ability in Box Drive to have documents physically stored on PC or external driver

In Box Drive it would be good that the documents are physically on our PC in offline mode, not just a memory copy (metadata).

    Leaving out a feature like this does not happen by accident.

    So it is either, ...

    a) Strategy to increase the lock-in effect for (most) users
    b) Inability to implement this type of feature in a robust way
    c) ...

    So far, I do not like any of those reasons.

    I am sorry but IMHO a feature like this should be available to all your users.

    I can't believe this feature doesn't exist. It wanst't clear to me how Box actually worked at the time of purchase, had I known about this issue I would have brought my money eslewhere.

    Upvote this majorly. I used to be able to backup via Box Sync to an external. Now I'm unable.

    Agreed this would be a great option to use a SYNC feature to automate a backup of all files on BOX to a local external drive.

    Scheduling automatic backups to an external hard drive if it is connected to the computer/ user that requested should be a standard feature.

    Box backup to an external hard drive should be a standard feature. Since Box doesn't have adequate customer support to handle critical issues when something goes wrong, this should be standard and implemented so businesses aren't left waiting on ticket responses that end up wasting a bunch of time.

    This would be a super helpful feature and would give me and my clients a better sense of security. If anything where to happen to my box drive (i.e. files I do not currently have synched), my business would be negatively impacted in major ways.

    Allow External Hard Drive to be used for Box Drive custom folder location. Dropbox does it, why is Box restricted to internal hard drives for its locations? Space on such drives is at a premium - allow us to locate the drive on an external hard drive.

    Be able to schedule a day and time for box to automatically backup to an external hard drive if it is connected to the computer/ user that requested.
