Set default classification for all uploads with Box Classification
When every file is uploaded, set a default Classification value that can be updated manually or via a partner (Netskope, SkyHigh, Titus, etc.).
13 votesDefault classification label is not planned because it could be misleading to end users. However, to address the concern of content being leaked before it is classified, you can create an access policy applying to “All content without a classification label” in Box Shield.

Metadata Search - Only Show Relevant Templates (That Are Already Applied to Content I have Access To)
Currently the Webapp Search UI filters for Metadata Templates show the user ALL Metadata Templates that are in their EID, regardless of whether the specific user actually has access to any content where that Template is being used.
This leads to a cluttered list of Metadata Templates in the webapp search filters UI when an EID has many Metadata Templates.10 votes -
Add support for Integrated Windows Authentication for Box Drive login flow
Integrated Windows Authentication (IWA) allows for the following login flow for the webapp:
- User logs into Windows
- User goes to Box and selects to use SSO to login
- When the user is redirected to their Identity Provider, the browser sends the user's OS credentials and the user does not need to enter credentials again
- User is logged into Box
This would provide a more seamless experience for users. In our computer labs, users would sign into Windows, click one button in the Box Drive login window, and have access to their Box content natively in the OS.

Web App Integration - Group Application Controls
We would like to be able to apply an integrated web application to groups of users as opposed to individual users.
3 votesNot planned for now but will keep on our radar.

This suggestion is not under consideration for the current or future roadmap because there is not enough demand from customers to sort members by access level.

Shared Folder Page: Add the Ability to Search
The shared folder page does not currently have the ability to search, meaning users must manually navigate through (potentially) pages of folders to find the relevant file.
REQUEST: Add the ability to perform searches when viewing a Shared Folder page as a non-collaborator.
For example, if a customer is using open shared links as a way to host a 'Brand/PR Assets' library with subfolders for logos, imagery, etc., the users are unable to quickly locate the file they need amongst the subfolders. Search would help with this.
23 votesThis is a great suggestion, and I can definitely see the usefulness of such a feature. Based on current priorities, I don’t foresee us being able to implement this feature in the short-term.

Export Groups - Add an 'Export Groups' Button to Groups Summary Page & Individual Group Page
There is currently no way for admins to export a report (xlsx) of their Groups - whether at the summary Groups level or at the individual Group level
This is problematic for companies that have pages and pages of Groups in the Admin Console, or want to manage just one group (as the current Export Users report from the Users page - the only place any Group info IS currently exported - exports ALL users in an EID, which is overload).
REQUEST 1: Groups Summary Export - Desired Columns:
1 Row per Group / Mirror the Columns on the Groups Page
--Group Name
--# of Users in Group
--# of Folders the Group is Added toREQUEST 2: Individual Group-Level Export - Desired Columns:
1 Row per User in Group
--Group Member Name
--Group Member Email
--Group Member Role (Member or Admin/Team Lead)
On a separate tab of the export
1 Row per folder that the Group is collaborated on
--Folder Name
--Folder Owner
--Group's Permission to that FolderThere is currently no way for admins to export a report (xlsx) of their Groups - whether at the summary Groups level or at the individual Group level

Enable download of watermarked file via public shared link.
We want to be able to distribute watermarked files via public shared link. It's confusing for end users, as well, since the Shared Link settings for allow download is not grayed out when the file is "watermarked".
1 voteWe will review this request once we see additional use cases and customer demand.

Add link to release notes when Box Drive is updated
It would be helpful to add a link to the latest release notes whenever a new update goes out

Group-Level Sharing Controls: Control sharing permissions at the Group level
This request is specific to controlling external sharing permissions and defaults by Group. For example, an admin should be able to permit whether a Group can generate Open Shared Links, invite external collaborators, and the default shared link permission that is generated, even if users in that Group are within a folder that has external sharing enabled.
22 votesFor now, we are focussed on solving bulk management issues with Shared Links.
Box Shield is an additional option for enforcing granular controls on content.

Ability to control what file information is visible when viewing file list
Some users have mentioned that it is more important to them to see the entire file name rather than have it truncated and see the timestamp and other details. The ability to choose what is visible on this page might be one way to resolve this.
2 votesThis is an intentional design decision. We will re-evaluate with additional user feedback.

Ability to pin a folder to remain at the top of the main Box Web App screen.
Either a user or an admin should be able to pin a folder.
Using favorites is the current alternative, but for usability purposes and sharing important content, pinning would be helpful as well
49 votesThank you for the suggestion. There are definitely use cases for which this would be useful, but it is not currently prioritized for this year. We will revisit this in the future.
