Add the feature for documents to upload as a new version when they are dragged directly over an existing document in box!!!!
To avoid having to save new version of documents, you should allow users to drag documents (from an email for example) onto another document in box. This would then prompt you to, "upload new version" or "upload separate document". This would save users the pain of having to download new versions to their computers before selecting the "upload new version" feature.

Backup user folders to Box Drive
To make the capture and backup of user content on our users' local systems easier, Box Drive should have an option to automatically select and sync the contents of user folders on both Macs and Windows computers (e.g., Desktop, Documents, etc.).

Enable sync of files with lnk extension through Box Drive
Box Drive will not sync files with a .lnk extension. We would like to be able to sync these as they are valuable in certain circumstances and are not hidden/system files.
34 votesThank you for your suggestion. This feature is not planned at this time, however.

Increase the start-up speed of Box Drive. It is SOOO slow to start!
Every time I have to restart my computer it takes Box Drive a good 5-10 minutes to start. This is unacceptable for such a large enterprise like this. Even accessing my offline files cannot be done until Box Drive completely starts.

Pop-up message when unintentionally shifting folders
It is strongly needed to have a pop-up message with Box Drive and Box Sync that allows the user to stop an unintentional shift of folders or files.

We would like to change the icons for Box Drive to appear different for a shortcut vs network drive.
We would like to change the icons for Box Drive to appear different for a shortcut vs network drive. We encountered an issue and confusion with Box Drive. One day, Box Drive didn't start up. We assumed that the shortcut icon on the desktop wasn't working properly. Therefore, we went to [C:\Users*UserAccount*] and found a shortcut icon which was exactly the same as the one on the desktop. We thought this icon was the shortcut to Box Drive, so we moved this shortcut icon to the desktop, and all of a sudden, the contents in Box were all moved to…

Display pop-up notification to let users know that Box Drive is able to be started
Please display a pop-up notification to let users know that Box Drive is able to be started (or in other words, users are able to open contents).
We own a lot of content - this makes Box Drive take a long time checking the updated contents and starting up.
This is causing delays of Box Drive being launched.
If a notification pops up when Box Drive is ready to start accessing contents, users would not have to check the status of Box Drive so frequently.
Instead, they could work on other things while waiting for Box Drive to start.1 vote -
Choose location for files marked for offline
Similar to Box Sync, would love to be able to choose a specific location for files marked for offline use in Box Drive. At least we could see the thumbnail previews.

Box drive - DIsk full because of "offline files"
The hard drive of my computer is full (or a small free space available) because Box Drive is using a large part of the free space to load files that I don't want to see, they should stay in the cloud. I want to see on my computer only the files that are configured for "Off Line" access. Today there are more than 50 Gbytes on my computer that are useless.
With box sync, I didn't get this issue, it's a new problem specific to box drive.
It's a critical issue, my computer is running slowly because there is only…4 votes -
Box Drive performance
Drive is unstable and crashes quite easily when many items are copied. We hope Drive be robust and stable enough for batch/powershell scripted copy/move/etc.

box drive metadata
With some of the new updates coming to Metadata, I'd like to request that Box Drive be able to support updates to Metadata on a folder/file.
As a start, a context menu option that would take a user directly to the metadata page.11 votesThanks for the feedback! This isn’t currently planned, but please keep the use cases coming to help us prioritize it.

Ability in Box Drive to have documents physically stored on PC or external driver
In Box Drive it would be good that the documents are physically on our PC in offline mode, not just a memory copy (metadata).

Archive folders
Ability to manually or automatically archive folders that have not been modified for a while. The Archived files are searchable, but don't appear in normal file system (similar to how Gmail's archived emails don't show up in Inbox, but can be searched)

Allow Box Drive Folders to be added to Windows Library
My company has a lot of folders on Box, but only a few are relevant to what I do. In order to facilitate quicker access to the folders I use I created a Windows Library (Windows 10) and attempted to add the Box Drive folders I use to the Windows Library. But my attempts to do this resulted in Windows displaying a message "This folder can't be included because it is on a removable device" even though the Box Folder is on my Computer's C Drive. This capability works fine with Box Sync, but not Box Drive. Please make it…
