Dynamically name signed documents based on metadata: signer's full name, company, email and others
When there are documents in the same folder or templates that are repeatably signed with the same name (Ready Sign Link, Batch Send), Box Sign adds a number and () to the filename to note the different/unique files.
There needs to be a better way to name the files - perhaps using metadata or using the unique id of the sign request. And then all files - signed docs and signed log would be renamed with the same name. Otherwise it's very hard to tell files apart when they all have the same name with just a number and () in them

Hello, it's been brought to my attention that there is not a way to include the signer's name in the document name once it's been signed (aside from downloading and re-naming the document). I see a time stamp, however, I would like to also include the signer's name. These are being sent with a Ready Sign Link.

I am sticking with Box right now for my org despite this not being an option. If there were another service that offered shared folders, didn't charge per signature, AND had this feature, I would switch from Box without a second thought. If this were implemented, I would feel much more loyal to Box as a long term user. It not being available makes Box must less functional, and as the Box admin, I'm constantly needing to explain to my team and external partners why such a basic feature is not available. I have had numerous partners decide not to use Box because of this.

Currently signed documents from Box sign are saved with the template/original file name and date stamp of when it was completed and you don't know who was the signer. We a policy we want all employees to sign and unless you open the document to see the signer. I want to be able to set up a template that names the completed document with the Name of the signer or email address that it was sent to as the file name.

We want to have completed signed documents collected from ReadySign links to include the name or email of the signer in the file name making it easier to identify who has signed these documents. Today we have a folder that just says the name of the template and the timestamp of when it was completed.

Yes please! Having to open each file, see who signed it, then manually edit the file name is extremely time consuming. This should have been a feature from day one of the Box Sign product.

I think you should be able to have file requests named with the name of the signer (or other fields). It is the only thing keeping me from truly recommending box for e-sign purposes. The only way to really use box to organize signature requests is manually renaming them which is time consuming when handling many forms.

When documents are signed via Ready Sign links, the signed files are currently saved with the file name format:Original File Name + Timestamp
As a result, it is difficult to identify who signed the document without opening the each files, which creates additional effort and inefficiency.
We would like to request an enhancement that allows customization of the signed file names. For example, enabling the file name to include:
・Original File Name + Signer’s Email Address
・Or providing an option for users to modify the file name at the time of signingImplementing this feature would greatly improve usability by making it easier to track and manage signed documents directly from their filenames.

We need a feature to specify file names in advance in the CSV file for Batch send templates.
This is because we are requesting all employees (1000 people) to sign a security pledge.
With the current specifications, numbers are added to the end of file names, but we cannot determine who signed them. By including the signer's name or email address in the file name, we can easily link the post-signature file name with the Box login username.Japanese:

The "my file (1) (1).pdf" looks unprofessional. Please add a timestamp such as 202501301645 by default instead or give us an option to dynamically name the file with a unique identifier. Even a unique BoxSign ID would would be better better than the spaces, parenthesis and number.

This is essential for our org's use of Box. It is nearly impossible to organize files without this functionality, especially if you're getting 50+ requests for the same template with no distinctions between them.

Box Sign is still very limited and lacks basic feature that are absolutely necessary. This is our 3rd year evaluating Box Sign as replacement for Adobe Sign and still it is not a comparable option. There are a lot of major pain points.

Would love to know if this is on the Box roadmap as this is a highly-requested feature.

Want to add my support for this feature, and the ability to add metadata to the filename such as the date the envelope is completed.

Is there any update on this? I have been facing the same issue with the signed filenames and would be great if there is a fix for this.

A very critical feature for batch requests. Box Sign almost there as a functional product! Like the advancements so far. Hopefully this gets pushed up the top of things to implement.

Our Organization has a use case in which a policy will be sent to all members of staff to sign via batch send. The naming convention assigned to signed documents and their logs does not make searching through the documents effective, especially if you need to retrieve specific signers documents. It would be helpful if a Sign Request or signed document included metadata attributes from a template that could trigger renaming of signed documents via Relay.

Yes, we need this feature please. Ablity to dynamically name the file and email subject with maybe the signer's name for example would be great. If we use it for Paid Time Off requests, receivers of copies of the documents have no idea who the request is for unless they open them, so they can't search back through email to find requests if they need to in the future.

When requesting sign from a template, it would be nice if the signed document file name is stored with fields from the document.

Ability to set the file name of signed document by each employee during bulk/batch sign by appending the employee's email or something that can uniquely identify the signer like User Display name.
