file request with BVE
Currently we are using BVE and have a firewall setting to block the normal app.box.com.
When our group/subsidiary companies try to upload a file through file request, since the link URL is https://upload.app.box.com, they cannot upload a file via file request.
It would be great if we can make a file request link that is BVE so the URL is https://upload.ent.box.com.19 votes -
I want the general user to be notified when an item is copied or moved and the process is complete.
When an item is copied or moved, a message is displayed indicating that the move is complete, but when the target folder is checked, the process may not be complete.
After moving or copying large data, the user may immediately see "copy completed" but the process is not actually completed, confusing the user.
Currently, general users can only visually confirm that the process is complete, and the only way to confirm that the process is complete is to request a user with administrative privileges to output a user activity report.
Therefore, we would like to see a function implemented to…4 votes -
Have a better way to show 'Full File Paths' for 'subfolders' in the web-app
Since people can be invited to folders that have the 'same name' it can be hard to identify in your 'All Files' view which folder is in which account.
Since you don't want to accidentally drop files in a folder that is shared with people outside your organization or vice-versa, it would be helpful to have a better way to identify which folder is from which account / directory structure.
For now the recommended guidance is to have the full file path of you directory structure in the sub folders so personnel can see which sub folders are from which…

Option to Remove "Upgrade Plan" Button
I'm a business customer with a paid subscription. Please give me an option to remove the "Upgrade Plan" button. It negatively impacts UX and takes up valuable real estate at the top of every page. It also subtly suggests that my current purchase is less valuable/important than a more expensive plan.

Box Web App Clicking on Files
I've noticed with the recent update to the web ui, that you can no longer click on a file without box wanting to automatically wanting to open the file. In the past, you had options like download, delete, move, etc... Can an option be added to the admin center to re-enable this option for users? Thanks.

Hide unknown/system access record from Contents Insight activity
To avoid end user confusion, we’d like to request that the activity on content insight only focuses on identified user-related action to the end user. The current activity includes some system related and/or unknown access (not box users), however, this may cause user confusion. Preferably, we’d like to show those systems related and/or unknown access to admin/co-admin only on the Admin console.

Thumbnail resizing
You've eliminated resizing buttons for thumbnails. Customer chat referred to this as an "enhancement". That's like calling a building fire "heating enhancement". Customer service stated that window resizing makes the thumbnails bigger. That's not true. Even if it WERE true, it's much more convenient to resize thumbnails in whatever window size works for me. Maybe you think eliminating the plus and minus buttons and the slider between them provides a less cluttered, more elegant look. I don't. Please restore this useful and needed feature ASAP.

Editable shared link to take precendence over collaborator permission
Collaborator permissions currently take precedence over shared link permissions. As a result, users accessing an editable shared links can't edit a file if they have viewer permission on the folder. In our case, we have an open folder accessible to all staff as viewer with all content accessible from our intranet. We would like to be able to create editable shared link for users to contribute to selected files.

Allow managed users to limit the method of file access on an individual file level
Allow managed users to limit the method of file access and editing through the Box web portal to limit formatting and function incompatibilities between Office Online and Google App Suite.

File Comments - Proposal to add comment previews in a hoover window
An idea that I have thought about sharing is to make comments visible in a preview window when you hoover over OR when you tap one time on files. This would make it faster for users because currently each files comments are stored within the [!} of each file and only visible one at a time when they are clicked on.
I propose to have an additional view where you can simply hoover over or tap one time on any file a window will appear showing a scrollable list of comments. The comments would allow the user to select and…

Notification bubble in Grid View for Comments
I'd like the notification bubble for comments to be returned to the grid view and not ONLY be available in list view. I have some employees that use this feature and now they have to toggle back to list view to see if there are comments of files that have been provided -vs- being able to see them at a glance in grid view as before.

Revert to former UX for selecting files/folders (no more check boxes)
In order to select multiple files or folders in the Box Web App you now have to use the checkboxes which are only visible when you hover over the file/folder all the way to the right.
Previously, you could select multiple files and folders by clicking on the file or folder icon on the far left, and didn’t have to bother with checkboxes. The suggestion is to revert to the former UX for selecting files/folders

Update to Grid View No Longer Shows File Count
The new update to Box has removed the file count from folders when looking at the browser version of Box in Grid view. This was not the case previously.

Warning about creating folders with invalid characters
The web application does not currently warn users about creating folders with invalid characters. For example, if you create a folder name that ends in a period [.] via the web, that folder never comes down to the Box client on a Windows machine. This is a limitation of windows.
However, other cloud providers WARN users before creating the folder in the first place and some even prevent the creation of the folder (Egnyte for instance).
A warning of "The folder you are creating contains an invalid character that may not be visible to users on Windows machines" or something…

Make scroll bar wider
When viewing a CSV file via Box's web portal/app, would love to see the tiny thin scroll bars made wider. (This form won't let me upload a screenshot of exactly what I'm referring to).

Option to remove visible file version tag
We'd like the ability to hide the file version tag both from the list view and preview. The box version does not match up with our own versioning thus creating confusion for end users

"Are you sure" pop-up when dragging & and dropping folders
I'd like a pop-up message confirming if I'm sure to appear when trying to drag and drop folders on the web app. Especially in a GxP environment this is important to reduce risk of human error.

Folder Lock from Web UI
Currently, Folder Lock can be configured only through API. We would like to be able to configure it on Web UI, e.g. Folder Settings.
Folder Lock function is very useful, but not used widely. Probably it's because API is not very friendly for some users.84 votesBecause of the downstream impacts, we will not be solving this problem as requested. We will be looking at a more holistic approach to prevent unintended consequences of file operations.

Sharing UI
More clearly subdivide the "Sharing" panel between the upper "Invite People" section and the lower "Share Link" section. The minutely thin gray line between the two doesn't adequately differentiate the two options. New users will tend to complete both options when only one sharing method is needed.

Add "Open in Box Drive" function
Add an "Open in Box Drive" UI option for the web app.
This solves the problem of identifying a file or folder in the web app, wanting to work on the file or folder in Box Drive, and needing to leave the Web App to navigate through several steps to find that file in Box Drive.Ideally this should only be active on hosts that have Box Drive installed; it could be not presented, or disabled, on other hosts.
For hosts that have Box Drive installed, this would allow:
1. When activated for a folder, that folder as presented by…8 votes
