Make "More Actions" tool usable with multi-select
Currently the More Actions button is not available for "more actions." If a person multi-selects files then chooses "more actions" the action is only applied to the object last selected. To improve ease-of-use, consider making "more actions" apply to multiple files if multi-select is used before an app under "more actions" is launched.
1 voteInteresting feature request! However, we’re not able to prioritize it at this time due to competing priorities.

Update Error Message When a User Accesses a Box URL for Content They're Not a Collaborator On
When the recipient clicks on this link (the raw URL not Shared Link) and they're not a collaborator in the same folder, they receive a vague error that doesn't let them know what they did wrong that states "You cannot perform this action"

Use Box with Adobe Acrobat CE Professional and it's "Shared Review" concept
it can be used when all reviewers have a shared UNC (windows network path) to the same file. We would like to use it with third parties + Box
0 votesWe have no plans to support this specific request in the near-term. We will reconsider with additional demand.
-
Only allow owners & co-owners to share links outside of the collaborator permissions they themselves control
There is currently no ability to allow owners/co-owners of a folder to send open links, when the global enterprise settings are set to restrict sharing: 'People in this Folder'
0 votesThis is an interesting feature! However, it does not have enough demand in order to be prioritized. We will reconsider with additional feedback.

Enable Web App to display the SHA-1 checksum for an object
We work with multiple large files and would like to be able to view the SHA-1 checksum that is stored in Box from the Web App in order to validate file transfer integrity as necessary.
7 votesThis is a very acute use case that isn’t in line with what we’re currently investing in for Web App. We will re-evaluate with additional customer demand.
-
Create new folder from Move/Copy Dialogue box
We regularly need to move and copy content to different locations in Box. It would be very helpful to have a "New Folder" option within the move/copy dialogue Box. This would help mirror desktop functionality (and sync, which currently supports this feature).
8 votesThis is a very narrow use case, so it’s not a priority for our roadmap right now.

Error message shown for failed uploads could be more descriptive or specific.
"There was a problem downloading the items. Please try again" is the provided error message for a downloading error.
We would like this message to be more descriptive and potentially include information around which specific files have and haven't been successful so that users able to continue the download as required.
3 votesThanks for the feedback. We understand the use case and potential value in this type of update. While its not on the roadmap at this time, we’ll keep it in mind for the future.

Major/minor flagging or differentiation in their version history.
It is important to be able to manage milestone updates to a single document that can be referred back to, both major and minor.
Some of this has been compounded by the additional versions created by autosave when using MS Office concurrent editing.
29 votesThanks for the suggestion. Please continue to post use cases and feedback, to help us prioritize for a future release.

Ability to see additional info from a shared link (file/folder owner, parent folder/location, etc.)
Oftentimes, users get access to a link that is shared with them via email, chat, etc.
If the owner or the file is deleted, moved, or transferred, there isn't an easy way to identify where the file lives and who owns it either from an end user or admin perspective.
Currently, we have to reach out to Box Support to look up the file ID or shared link to get this information.
1 voteThis is an interesting feature! However, it does not have enough demand in order to be prioritized. We will reconsider with additional feedback.
-
Allow Folder Description to be created in same step as creating new folder name
When user clicks 'New Folder' they should be able to edit both the Folder name and the folder description in one step from the pop-up window.
0 votesWe removed this functionality because it had low usage and caused confusion for many users. Thank you for your feedback.

Thanks for the suggestion. Unfortunately, due to competing priorities, this is not currently on our roadmap.

Custom 'Views' / 'Labels' to Organize Folders in Box
Request: provide the ability for end users to label or categorize folders in order to create different 'views' or 'workspaces' for their folders
40 votesValidating problems and solutions.
-
Adjust the Get Info button to pull from the properties of a Box Link vs from the HTML Header tag information
This would be much more user friendly (and expected) for the proper data to populate when clicking Get Info if the hyperlink is a shared link.
We are mostly requesting that the folder name as a bookmark populates.
0 votesThis is an interesting feature! However, it does not have enough demand or impact in order to be prioritized. We will reconsider with additional demand.
-
Ability to pin a folder to remain at the top of the main Box Web App screen.
Either a user or an admin should be able to pin a folder.
Using favorites is the current alternative, but for usability purposes and sharing important content, pinning would be helpful as well
43 votesThank you for the suggestion. There are definitely use cases for which this would be useful, but it is not currently prioritized for this year. We will revisit this in the future.

Open Link ability - single access
We would like to make a link that forces a person to login (i.e. related to previous feedback submission) and then have a link expire for that person after one access (one click of the link).
0 votesThis is an interesting feature! However, it does not have enough demand in order to be prioritized. We will reconsider with additional feedback.

Individualized shared links
We'd like to be able to send customized links to specific individuals (e.g. company.box.com/JohnDoe) to know, even though they'd normally show as "Someone has Viewed your file", that it can be tracked back to being the particular person from that link.
We'd ideally like to send that same file to 5 different prospects with 5 customized links
0 votesGreat suggestion. This is not currently prioritized since it’s a narrower use case compared to the other items on our roadmap.
-
Provide more clear password guidelines when creating a new account
For example, add a real-time check that tells the user what is missing in the current password while typing it.
0 votesThank you! This is not something we are planning to revise. We will reconsider with additional feedback.

Embed Widget: Add 'Play' Button UI for Embedded Videos (a la YouTube)
Currently when videos are embedded using the native single file Box Embed widget, the UI that's presented before a user clicks on the widget itself is missing a large 'play' button (like you'd find on YouTube, for example) to indicate that the image is more than just that - an image.
Unless you hover over the embed widget itself, the user has no visual indication that the image is actually a video that they need to click on to play.
REQUEST: Make the Box Embed UI for videos more similar to YouTube or Vimeo.
0 votesThanks for the suggestion! This is an awesome idea, but due to competing priorities, this is feature request not currently on our immediate roadmap.
