This is not on the 2019 roadmap.

Add global setting where you can set folders on global level to sync to desktop
Currently have app that sets certain folders for offline access but would like to do that within Box as a global setting to set certain folders/files available for offline access.

Thank you for your submission. However, this does not have enough demand in order to be prioritized.
We will reconsider with additional use cases.

Ability to customize download policy thresholds
Currently the policy thresholds are automatically set by our algorithms, and the policy is triggered on a per minute rate basis and one hour time window. This has caused alert fatigue for the customer because so many notifications are generated every few minutes based on these thresholds that they aren't able to update or customize.
9 votesWe will be looking at how to reduce the noise but it might not be through enabling customization.

Add SHA1 hash value to event stream for applicable events
We have built a custom event stream logging application to maintain a local database of shared links and their targets. We would like a SHA hash to be added to the event stream for applicable events (shared link create, file upload, file download, etc.) to ensure we can identify uniquely the file version in use in a defensible fashion.

Ability to get all folder/file information by "Splunk Add-on for Box"
When we tried to get all folder/file information in our Box environment, Splunk can't get it because the "Splunk Add-on for Box" package simply gets information only of the API key user who is actually an super admin.
if all folders are owned by a super admin, there is no issue. However, we allow all end users to create their own folder on root level.
1 voteSince this app is owned by Splunk, Box has no control over additional features. Please send this request directly to your Splunk account team to get this prioritized on their roadmap.

Control External Collaboration at User Level (not folder level)
Currently, users can have a restriction placed on them that folders owned by that user cannot be collaborated outside of the organization. However, if that user is invited into a folder that allows for external collaboration, that user can invite external collaborators.
We want flexibility to control this at a user by user basis. For example, User A should not be able to invite external collaborators, regardless of folder that they're invited into. However, User B should have the ability to do so (but only within folders that User B owns or within another folder that is set to allow…
3 votesThank you for this request! I’d like to see additional customers with use cases for user-level collaboration restrictions.
Collaboration is a setting that is tied to content rather than users, and I’m not sure that we have evidence yet to make changes to that model.

Slack: Sync 'Comments' on Files Between Box & Slack
Right now, when using the Box + Slack integration, Slack imports a 'pointer' to a Box file (when a shared link is posted), and then keeps that file's search index updates based on changes that happen in Box.
REQUEST: Extend this integration further to sync any Comments made on the file between Box and Slack.
In Slack, I can add a Comment to the imported Box file by clicking 'add comment', and in Box I can 'add Comment' -- it'd be nice if the comment added to the file directly in Slack also synced and was added automatically as a…

There are several workarounds to achieve this in the current product, so we will not prioritize this feature in our roadmap.

Send out expiration notifications to folder co-owners
We currently only send out expiration notifications to the folder owner and not the co-owner

Drag and drop files from Box into a document
Our users have all of their content/ media files/ images stored in Box. They routinely drag and drop images to a document (PPT, Word etc.) to prepare docs.
Right now, unless users sync all their files, they cannot drag and drop the file into a document. They have to download it and then add it to doc.
1 voteThanks for the feedback! There is no workaround for this use case at this time.

Require password when sharing with external users
There is a regulation in Japan called the privacy mark, where obtaining this qualification you need to put a password on all files you share outside of your company. Without this qualification you are not allowed to do business in certain industries

Ignore unreadable files in Box Sync.
The users environment causes Excel to create unreadable temporary files. Box Sync will not sync temporary files. However, not being able to read the file causes Box Sync to throw and error and quit. The user would prefer Box Sync to ignore unreadable files.

Reports: Replace User ID in the Legal Hold Report with User's Email
In the current Legal Hold report export (Excel file), users are referred to by their User ID (e.g., 123233124) which isn't really helpful for an admin to identify 'who' that is.
Using email address would be a much better field to include, either replacing the User ID field OR adding in Email as an additional column.

Add Sort by 'Status' Option to Managed Users Page
Add the ability to sort by user status (active, inactive, cannot edit & delete, cannot upload edit & delete) to the Managed User page in the Admin Console.
11 votesWe are re-designing the managed users page and will focus on adding advanced filtering of managed users by status as a follow up. Right now, releasing the re-design will be our first priority, so filtering by status is not on the near-term
(6 month) roadmap. We will revisit this after we release the new page. -
