New role that can be changing other collaborator role but doesn't have right to do new invite.
Would like to a user role that cannot add collaborators but can change the privileges of each collaborator who has already collaborated, it is not possible to invite new users, but a user who can change existing roles is possible.
Allow more granular permission collaboration.1 vote -
Relay/task push notification on Mobile app
We are currently evaluating Relay so notifications on Mobile will be important for making Relay a viable solution (and will certainly make regular comments/tasks easier to access).

Custom Terms of Service - Prompting External users to accept terms after change to terms
It has been noted that if the text of theCustom Terms of Service is changed for internal users, internal users are prompted to re-accept the new terms. However for external users, if the text of the terms is changed, the external users is not prompted to accept the new terms until they are invited to a new folder. Can the external users be prompted to accept the new terms once the text is changed?

Extend expiration dates to be shown in their user activity reports
For external collaborations, it shows the date the collaboration is going to end when it's first set in the user activity to report as
-Action: Collaboration expiration
-Details: To: YYYY-MM-DDHowever when you extend this period, the "To: YYYY-MM-DD" isn't displayed so you don't know until when it's extended until unless you go the individual folder/file itself and look at the "clock" mark manually.
In the report
-Action: Extend collaborator expiration
-Details: [Blank]The customer wants to have a grasp of each expiration dates so they're saying looking at each item manually on Box is impractical.

Add ability to cancel opening a file through Box Edit
If a large file is accidentally clicked on to open through Box Edit, it would be nice to be able to cancel opening the file. That way, you wouldn't have to wait even longer for the correct file to open.

Unique delivery of webhooks
We need a unique delivery of webhooks for each file trigger event. Currently, for trigger FILE.UPLOADED we get multiple webhook calls.

Seamless Sign On - Box Drive
Like OneDrive, we want the ability for the box drive client to seamlessly sign into box without any user integration at login. This will benefit;
- VDI users
- Hot desk users
- Students (e.g. lab machines)
- First time logon for staff allocated devicesWe understand this won't work for everybody but we to SSO to box via Azure AD and all of our 7,500 managed devices are joined to both on-premises AD and Azure AD. In fact we're starting have a slow migration to pure Azure AD.
This has stopped any large scale rollout and we have seen an increased number of requests to enable OneDrive for users who need cloud storage. Our success is measured on user experience and the current box drive client is not helping!

Freedom to move folders
Content sprawl is our #1 challenge. Please let us organize our folders. We don't want to interfere with the permissions, but I want to have an "Active Projects" folder and a "Project Archive" folder where I can drag and drop those relevant folders in.
109 votesMoving shared folders is not on the near-term roadmap. We understand the massive importance and we hope that a new product development to be released in 2020 will help address content sprawl.

Adobe integration editor permission
For the Adobe integration, when updating a document to a PDF format, the PDF should automatically save in the same location in which the document currently resides. This is only currently possible if the Owner/Co-Owner of the content/folder initiates the PDF creation. This should be extended to the Editor permission role.

Ability to disable the Acrobat Web option
As we must open many PDF files within Box throughout the day, the addition of Adobe Acrobat web and the requirement to "Open With..." and then select either the web or traditional option each time, significantly stunts workflow for our team. The ability to simply right click and open, defaulting to a preferred program (perhaps a "Don't ask me again" option?) would be very much preferred.

Relay: Folder picker, select folder in search
When choosing a folder when building a relay, there is a search box at the top. Often you will know the name of the folder you want to select, however, from the search results you can't put the dot in the folder name.
Instead you have to search for the folder that contains the folder you want, then find the destination folder by scrolling down the list so that you can put a dot in the select box.The ask is to make searching and then selecting the folder one smooth operation

Bulk API support
It would be great if we have a bulk API option. I would like to pass in the list of entity ids(could be files, folders users etc) and get back the results. This will reduce the number of api calls we do to get all the information.
We try to manage client's storage accounts and the main problem is with rate limiting for a large clients.
Implementation can vary, either limit the response size or provide an ack id and developers can poll for the id and get the data back once the api is ready to spit out the data in form of CSV. This would greatly help us reduce the api calls

25 votesThank you for the suggestion. This is an interesting idea but not one we currently have on the roadmap. In the mean time, you can apply techniques such as caching (i.e. fetch what you need once for a session and keep it in local storage) to reduce round-trips, and the use the ?fields query string parameter to request only the minimal set of fields you need, which can reduce API response times.

File Upload Notification - Ability to set alerts to a specific managed user per folder
File Upload can be a game changer for our company - with 1 major exception. Notifications in box seem to be all or nothing. Its overwhelming. Most of our team have them all turned off.
We would like the ability to set a notification for file uploads - per folder - per user/s. Example: Folder named: Dr. Joe with 10 folders within it. One of the sub-folders is named "Uploads from Dr. Joe" A file request link is created and shared with the client for this sub-folder. Then, regardless of who owns the file, you can add certain managed user/s to receive alerts just for that folder, when files have been received.
Our issue is I created and own the folder, I share the link with the client. Myself, the sales person and accountant are waiting for uploads but there is not way to alert them on that specific folder. You could have a selection in each users notifications to turn on file request alerts. Then any file request alert activated by a file owner to that managed user would push to them with the sub-folder name: Uploads from Dr Joe - file received!
Right now I can't even find a report I can run for file requests uploads received. I can run a search and find the folders but then its a guessing game of which of our 300 clients uploaded files that day. Please team box - create an alert feature or at least a report to track all received files! Love file request, just need to be able to manage it otherwise our clients are having to do work to tell us they sent files or wonder why we didn't respond.
