Alert admin when users is reaching their allocated storage cap
When allocating a maximum storage amount to a given user it would be very useful to as an admin receive an email notification when the user is approaching their limit so that the admin can proactively increase the limit to decrease any disruption to their workflows.

Support case-sensitive file extensions (i.e. recognize “testimage.png” as the different filename from “testimage.PNG”)

Enhance Metadata dropdown widget
With the version of BOX - if you add a metadata dropdown - the user interface is fairly limited. For example if the dropdown has more than about 25 items - you not only cannot see additional items; you cannot even search for them.
Ideally where would be a scrollbar on the dropdown or the ability to search for options contained within the dropdown.

I would like the kind of functionality in BOX that I get with GoogleDocs
My main input is that I would like the kind of functionality in BOX that I get with GoogleDocs – in particular the ability to work in a document at the same time, see who is editing the document at a time, track their changes, revert to newer versions. In box, the work is linear and when you are working at the same time and save (if you haven’t lockd people out), it makes another copy. Seems so slow compared to GoogleDoc speed.

Provide an option to sync files with names beginning with '.'
Box sync / box drive needs to provide an option or a setting that will enable files whose names begin with '.' to be sync'ed.
Reason: I would like to be able to use Box Drive as storage for projects that I manage via Eclipse and GIT. However there are files and directories named .git and .project that currently box drive does not sync, which makes using my box drive as storage for such things impossible.3 votes -
Web App Search: Ability to highlight matching words
The in-browser search (Ctrl + F) doesn’t let us highlight matching words all at once. As you scroll, words that are loaded later are not highlighted. Once the search reach the end of page, it fails to return to the top of the page. We want the ability to highlight all the matching words that are displayed in the same page.

Admin reports should differentiate between MFO and Downloads
MFO actions are logged in User Activity Reports as Downloads. However, since MFO is completely a local setting, there currently isn't any logging within the Admin Console that will distinguish between regular downloads and MFO downloads.
We want a way for admin to know if there is MFOed items on user’s machine.

Allow admins to block external users from using MFO in Drive
Create an option to allow enterprise admin to block Box Drive for external users, on per user basis.
We have this feature in Box Sync (for managed users only) and need this feature to be extended to external users for Box Drive, due to security reason: Compared to downloading from Box Webapp , it is very easy for external users to get a lot of our contents with MFO. It is out of our control and we cannot guarantee as well if external user’s machines are secure enough (HDD encryption, antivirus software etc.).”5 votes -
Add exFAT file system support
Add support for Box Sync to work with exFAT formatted file systems (this is the best file system when trying to swap between PC and Mac).

Copy files to Relevant Folders based on Tags or Automation Rules
We would like to setup Automation rules for folders that would COPY and not MOVE new files to designated folders.
To take the idea even further, if the COPY could be triggered by a TAG assignment, it would be even better, because some of the files in the affected folder should not be copied, while other should.

Group membership retained when an account is deactivated
We have scenarios where user accounts are suspended for a period of time e.g while a person is on extended leave. The business process is to disable the account in Active Directory which in turn deactivates the account in our SSO provider which also sets the account as Inactive in Box.
When the account is reactivated the person retains access to all the folders they were collaborating in but they lose membership to all Box groups and need to be re-added
We've also had incidents where accounts have mistakenly been deactivated resulting in the same issue

Not able to access comments bar
This is not an idea. It's a complaint.
Recently, I'm often not able to show the comments bar on the right-hand side. For example, on page X, I'm able to see the comments bar, hide it if I want, and click on the little speech bubble to show it again. Meanwhile, on page Y, there is no speech bubble, so I cannot get the comments bar to appear. This happens sporadically and usually lasts for 30 or so minutes. After going back, refreshing the page to check multiple times, it's usually resolved itself in about 30 minutes. This is incredibly…1 vote -
Dicom
Large folder has 2000 image files and 2 are corrupt. Currently the importer stalls and errors out due to the 2 corrupt files. Would it be possible to have a way to bypass this and tell the importer to go ahead and render the final study.boxdicom file WITHOUT all the files (2) being uploaded? Filter folders that user can access by Access level in the Users & Groups tab
Currently, all folders that a managed user may or may not have access to appear in the 'Edit User Access permissions' panel. There should be a filter for the Access level - so that eg. folders with Access level 'None' do not come up.

Disable Box Notes for Individuals Outside the Organization
It would be great if there were separate buttons to disable Box Notes either completely for everyone, or just for people outside of the organization. We use Box Notes internally for meeting planning, and we have this one client who uses it consistently to provide data, but we would really love it if she was prevented from doing so while those of us who work here could still use the feature for meeting prep.

Security Issue: File can be downloaded without permission

Per the "Previewer" role definition the user can not download the file, only see the preview of the file.
Actually it seems it is supereasy to download the file if you copy the url of content?preview=true....... initator pdf.min.js:631 type: fetch.I hope this helps, pls let me know if you need more deatils.

Drag and Drop between two browser tabs of the Box Webapp
Allow drag and drop of files and folders from the Box Webapp on one browser tab to the Box Webapp in another browser tab. We often need to search through a large list of project related files to find the place we would like to store information that was created in multiple task related folders. We want to be able to open a task related folder on one tab and the project folder on another tab and then just drag and drop between the tabs. Make all notifications visible at-a-glance again. This functionality was just removed.
As of today, employees in our company are noticing that the full Notifications page is no longer available in Box Web, and notifications have been moved to a small drop-down menu in the corner. A chat with a member of Box support confirmed that this is a product-wide change.
The problem with this drop-down menu is that comments cannot be read in full anymore, as they are being truncated to fit in the small pane.
