Box Tools install to be shown as "Box Edit" instead of "Box Tools"
While I understand the Box Tools installer also contains the Box Local Com Server application, it is there to support Box Edit so labeling the entire installation more explicitly as Box Edit, instead of Box Tools, will be more clear.
7 votesThanks for your feedback. It’s called Box Tools because it actually contains both Box Edit and Device Trust capabilities in this one installer.

Add User Activity Reporting for Folder Settings Changes
Right now, there is no way to tell who is enabling or disabling notification settings by accident (rather than managing their own user level notifications).

Transfer Ownership Enterprise Event
Currently, when you delete a user the only way to show that the content from one user to another user in the enterprise events are track two separate events:
- UPLOAD (Creation of the new folder with the user's naming convention)
- MOVE (From unknown location/user, to the new folder)This mean you needs to track the newly created parent.name and the move event with the item.name. I'm proposing two potential enhancements:
1) Enhance the MOVE event to show the source user/item details AND target user/item details.
2) Create a new TRANSFER_OWNERSHIP event so that you can distinguish between a regular MOVE event and a transfer event as a result of deleting a user.Currently, when you delete a user the only way to show that the content from one user to another user in the enterprise events are track two separate events:

Total space used and total space allocated at enterprise level through API
Whenever we want to get total space used and total space allocated at enterprise level through api, we have to iterate through every user. Even then total space allocated at enterprise level would not be 100% accurate. If you guys can expose any api where we would get those information accurately.

Moveable Uploading window
When editing a file on your desktop, and then save it back to Box, an uploading window shows in the bottom right hand corner of the screen. It can block other windows, would be great if we could move it around.

Add support for bulkified retrieval of box folder ids
toolkit.getFolderIdByRecordId needs to be bulkified. Otherwise the method is very vulnerable to Salesforce governor limits.

Provide Tutorials on Login Page
It would be nice to provide links to tutorials or resources on the login page for non-managed users. The biggest hurdle to using Box with non-managed users is their frustration with login process and getting a hang of the product. Having easy access to basic tutorials would be beneficial to non-managed users and those attempting to help the non-managed users.

When using the Send Shared Link feature, non-URLs in the Message are getting caught as URLs
It is unclear which part of the message got caught in the filtering.
For example we A.COMPANY get's caught as a URL since .com is recognized as a top level domain. This is very confusing to the user and would be better if there was a message that shows which string was marked as invalid.3 votes -
Provide simple formatting for comments
We'd like to be able to format the text in comments to make things stand out - font color, type, bold, highlight, quote prior comments, etc.

Better Group Management and Deletion
When managing groups, I would expect to be able to sort by the Members, Folders and Created columns.
I would like to be able to delete more than one group at a time.
When deleting a group from page 3, it returns you to page 1 instead of the page you were on. This is extremely frustrating when you have dozens of groups to remove which are lower in the alphabet. It would be better if you could multiple select groups and delete them. It looks like you can multiple select today but the only options are to Add Folders or Add Members.

The layout and the padding feels weird. This applies to both the navbar as well as the content.

On box.dev, please format the available event types for the event stream in a more readable format. Descriptions for the event would also be helpful.

Shared Link Default Setting
I propose that the default Shared Link setting be the strictest available setting "People in this Folder" rather than "People with the Link". In my opinion, the default setting should be the more confidential / private one and force the user to opt to share the link with outside parties. In my experience, many users have not understood to update that setting.

Access Stats: Include IP information from report preview in report export
While previewing the Access Stats, IP information is shared. When we export the report, it doesn’t give that information anymore. We would like for the IP information from the Access Stats preview to be included in the exported report.

Option to open links directly in desktop applications (rather than Box Preview)
Currently when I receive a link to a file on Box via email, clicking the link takes me to Box Preview. A couple of steps are needed before I can open the file using the relevant desktop application (e.g. Word, rather than Word Online or Box Preview), which is invariably what I want to do. It is problematic to need to access files via a web browser if I am not connected to the internet or if my connection is poor. Please could you introduce a way to quickly open lists directly in desktop applications?
