Request for an Content Folder API call to support passing to it a folder path and return the unique folder ID
We would like to be able to retrieve folder ID directly via API call by passing in the folder path as a variable.
So for example if the custom program knows the folder virtual path (/folder A/folder 123/folder X) the API call would return the correct folder ID for "folder X".
0 votesFolder path is pretty fragile as names change frequently, so I don’t think this is something we’d want to do.

This is not planned in the near term, but is something we will re0examine periodically.

Add offline functionality to iOS SDK
Offline functionality is already available through the Box for iOS app but it's built on the app level.
Developers are interested in using the same logic used by Box instead of writing their own.
0 votesOur customers tend to have different requirements for an offline feature. We’ll monitor demand and re-evaluate.

Allow watermarking to reveal External ID, as opposed to randomly generated App User Email
This would connect the viewer to a legal obligation through the document experience.
0 votesThank you for the feedback! We’ll add this to our backlog, and get back when we have further updates.

Support complex passcodes in Box for EMM
We would like to enforce complex passcodes in Box for EMM to meet encryption requirements for mobile apps

Add an internal validation link for EMM instances
Current state: once an EMM instance has been set up, the IC/CSM sends the public ID to the customer. The admin is then responsible for applying the public ID and validating that it works.
Request: Add a validation link for instances with an API URL, username, and password for the CSM to validate that the credentials are accurate, and provide an accurate error message (e.g. username/password invalid).
0 votesCalls will not work without management IDs sent from valid devices.
We’d have to work with the EMM providers on a workaround, however there would be security concerns with the ability to successfully ping an EMM server without a managed device.

Support Kerberos on Macs
Box currently supports NTLM V2 on Windows Box Sync, but only support NTLM v1 (with a keychain entry) on Mac Box Sync. Additionally, Kerberos is supported in the login flow (via the embedded browser) but not for the actual network requests that Box Sync makes.
As such, some organizations would like Box Sync to fully support Kerberos as an authentication method for the login process AND for all network requests.
Request: Add full authentication support for Kerberos.

Box Notes at its core is a collaborative product and so many features don’t make sense in a ‘Hide Collaborators’ environment. We’d suggest turning off ‘Hide Collabs’.

Because Watermarking is built as an enterprise-wide feature, we don’t currently plan to limit access to it to only certain users as this would be antithetical to how we do enterprise features as a whole in the product.
If we decide to add the ability to limit folder settings to certain levels of users, then I could see us changing watermarking to fit that pattern.

We are keeping our focus on the native integration with Office and Office365.

Integrate with our O365 tenant when opening content from Box
When Box launches content, a generic instance of Word/Excel is launched rather than our specific instance. As MSFT shifts more and more functionality to O365, integration with specific O365 tenants will become more critical.

As it stands, Box Universal app requires an individually based install from the Windows App Store and cannot be mass installed. This will not be changed in the near future.
