Restore Box Drive behavior on MacOS when it mounted as an external hard drive with on-demand file streaming
Product: Box Drive Version 2.24.193 installed 2021-10-12 on MacOS 11.6
Newest release 2021-10-12 has removed the "external hard drive behavior" and on-demand file streaming feature (as illustrated in first 2 minutes of https://youtu.be/t7tPs1naUtY), which was THE reason I use Box. Now it behaves like OneDrive: (1) viewing Box file requires full download, (2) downloaded file remains on computer until manual removal, (3) dragging and dropping into Box folder literally moves file rather than copying file. These behaviors make life miserable and are the reasons I do not use OneDrive. Now Box has removed the sole reason I want to use Box.
Box Product Support could not address my concern and told me to report it to Box Pulse.
When Box Drive mounted like an external hard drive, any Box file (actively edited/viewed or idle) would not ever take up local hard drive space (unlike new version 2.24.193, which forces the file to be downloaded onto local hard drive before it can be edited/viewed, then remains on the local hard drive even after quitting Box app - the local copy must remain until it is manually removed by choosing "Remove Download"); permissions of original file would be fully preserved when original file was copied onto Box drive (unlike new version 2.24.193, which forces all files to be executable by the user); original file would NOT be removed from its original local when drag-and-dropped onto Box folder (unlike new version 2.24.193 which removes the original file from its original location) - this is exactly like OneDrive and a main reason I cannot work with OneDrive.

Make it possible to re-order outcomes in a flow
Currently it is impossible to re-order outcomes in a flow. This makes it very hard to implement changes and maintain workflows. It would be very handy to be able to change the order of outcomes in a flow the same way it is possible to change order of flows in a workflow.

Add a "request to share with me" button to Box folders
Lets say that a folder has Mary as the owner and Bob as the co-owner permissions wise. I would like a button that any other Box user can click on (for example a 'request permission' button) which when clicked, Mary and Bob will receive an email informing them that a user has requested viewer/editor rights for the folder (the user can select what permissions they are asking for). Mary or Bob can easily click an approve or a decline button from the email to grant or deny the access.

Redirect for URL Should Always Fire After Box Subdomain Change
After changing your Box subdomain, the URL redirect should always fire, regardless of logged in status, sharing permissions on the file, etc. Currently, it will not fire if the file is shared with "anyone with the link" and the user is logged into their Box account.

Automatic Image folder in chronological order
As an administrator would be great to have all image files collected automatically in a single location where it would be shared easily with the team regardless of where the individual filed it. Need a global visual in chronological order.
Include select items or all feature.

Ability to add a group of users to feed
We cannot add a group of users to the list of authorized users for Feed.
We would like to add this Feed feature to a group of users to test it before enabling it for all users.1 vote -
Allow Adobe Bridge to Show BOX Drive Folders/Files (Worked in Previous BOX Version)
With the update to BOX Drive Version 2.24.208, Adobe Bridge no longer shows BOX folders and Files when opening files in the application. In pervious BOX Drive version, Adobe Bridge showed folders/files, just like any other files – either local or in other cloud applications. HUGE inconvenience to workflow. Please reinstate this functionality.

Exception to password expiration rule
There is a need to allow for specific user accounts to have a longer password expiration policy applied to them. However, Box's policy is EID-wide, which means that there has to be workarounds to deal with specific use-cases in which the user accounts require longer password expiration.
It would be great if there could be an exception added to the user account like what Box does with device pinning. This would be an easy solution to the problem, the admin could go into the users' settings, provide their password expiration time frame as the exception.

Enable auto complete for internal users when collaborating
When going to share a file or folder with an internal user, unless you have collaborated in the past, auto complete does not come up. In fact when you put in the internal email address, it shows a globe as if the user is external. A way to use a directory sync would be helpful, but since not all users have Box in our domain, showing just those with accounts suffices and would actually be the most helpful.

UI improvements - Download Button
received multiple feedback from users, where their client missing out the button on how to download, ended up they trying to sign up, which not ideal in term of fast pace workflow
should be making the Download button bigger and colored, so more stands out,
currently the button a bit hard to notice, but instead the Log In and Sign up superseded the overall view1 vote -
Report changes in the date of automatic deletion of folders
Operations that set an auto-delete date for a folder will appear in the report, but operations that changed the auto-delete date is not.
If the date is changed by someone to an earlier date than the originally set deletion date, the folder may be deleted without others being aware of the change in the deletion date.
In that case, you need to check the change history in the report to know which user made the change.
However, we cannot know this unless the change in the automatic deletion date is output to the report.2 votes -
Remove the user account assigned to Task from Relay Workflow Template when publishing it
When we create the workflow template to publish it company-wide from the existing workflow, the user account assigned to the task defined in the workflow are maintained in the template.
In the current specification of Box Relay, the workflow invites the task assignee if he/she doesn't have access to the contents related to the task.
Template is intended to be used by company-wide Box user, so if the task assignee is remained in the template and if the template user doesn't remove it when creating workflow from template, this original task assignee will be invited and given access.
This leads information leakage..
So we request Box to fix this. Concretely, when user creates template from existing workflow, Box should remove the original task assignee from template.

Increase capacity of the recycle bin to be unlimited.
I want the capacity of the recycle bin to be unlimited.
If the number of items in the recycle bin exceeds a certain value,
the page will not be displayed properly as a "scale limit".I've heard that adding "?usemarker=true" to the end of the URL of the recycle bin page makes it accessible.
However, there are some restrictions on the operation, and I would like to see the limit raised or made unlimited.
11 votes -
Allow "plain text" toggle on preview pane for all small files
Right now, the preview pane on the site will refuse to display plain text files unless the file extension is one of a short list of types. However, there's no good reason why this files can't be displayed. There's no need to try to syntax-highlight the files, just display the contents.
Since the site won't necessarily know if a file with an obscure extension is a plain text file or not, all files below a certain reasonable length in bytes should have a toggle checkbox in the preview pane ("Display raw contents" or something) that would force the file to be displayed as plain text. It would be a safe enough assumption to guess that the files are encoded with UTF8.
I know similar reasonable suggestions to merely add more supported extensions (e.g., .log) have been posted before and ignored. I'm making a broader request here because this is something I run into every day.

When an email address is marked as undeliverable, show that status in the console
When your system marks an email address as undeliverable, there's currently no way to see that in the admin console. The Resend Invite button is available but the invite will never be sent because you're suppressing the address.
In an ideal world, we'd be able to see that and toggle the status, but even if we could just see the status it would save time.

Permission expansion - excluding folder management
I’d love a “File manager” permission that doesn’t include Folder management capabilities.
We have a large folder structure that I need to allow our users to have Editor permissions to for them to properly do their job. My issue is that it is CRITICAL that the folder structure doesn't change.2 votes -
Universal and Individual Upload Pause and Throttle
Problem: I'm uploading a lot of relatively large files. The urgency for these is low, but it will take a long time to upload. During this time, I have smaller high priority files to send to a client for approval. However, uploading these smaller, but more important files using a different service is extremely slow. A 30 second upload becomes a 10-minute upload.
Solution: Have individualized pause buttons on each uploading item AS WELL AS a universal pause on uploads. Also, a throttle to limit it from using all of the bandwidth would be nice, too. Please also make this functionality available when using the finder Box background app - perhaps available through the right click context menu where other box functions are. A toggle between "Pause uploads" and "Resume uploads". Maybe with a little icon to indicate whether it's currently paused or active.
