open synched folder from web
When I work in windows folder/file browser on my PC, I can easily right-click a folder and select to "view on box.com". I would like to be able to go the other way.
* Couldn't there be a function when right-clicking a folder on box.com, that takes me to the synched folder on the PC I work from?
* Or at least "copy link on the PC I work from", so I could paste it into the windows folder/file browser on my PC?

Add an Undo option within Reports.
When an admin searches for files or folders that were put in Trash or Moved by a specific user, there is a need for an UNDO option. When erroneous Trash or Move occurs in a large number of files, there is no ability to remedy the error. Please add the ability to undo a users mistake or nefarious action.

Create a hyperlink to a point within the same note
Box Notes are wonderful, but after a certain length, they can become unwieldy to navigate. Other services, including Dropbox, offer the ability to hyperlink to a headlines section (text marked as H1, H2) to create a functional contents segment.
Please could we have the ability to hyperlink within documents, at leas to text tagged as a header

Folder Hyperlink to link to Page X of Y within folder that holds the actual document.
When using Search and click folder hyperlink, the result should link to Page X of Y within folder that holds the actual document. This will allow user to see associated TAGS.

File Request Email Validation
Provide the ability to have the email address provided in a File Request form to be validated either generically to make sure the email is a real address or to require them to authenticate themselves. This is critical for organizations that have strict security and compliance requirements and can't accept the risk of someone getting a hold of the File Request link and uploading malicious content or inundate their folders with nonsense files.
8 votesI suggest customers look into Shield, a newer Box offering that provides malware detection. If turned on, it scans all content uploaded to Box including the ones from file requests (as well as any file when it's active - e.g., on preview, share, edit, copy, etc. events)

File Request Link API: Get a file_request object by folder's ID
The file request link is a very useful feature.
The advantage of being able to operate from the API is great.
Next, I want to be able to get the file_request object from the folder.3 votes -
Allowing someone to edit a box note should mean they can view images
We're often sharing box notes across teams that are used to take review notes, including lots of screencaps. But using a share link that gives someone in my company the ability to edit a box note does NOT give them the authority to view the images in the box note. Which makes the share link all but useless, because we still need to give all of them explicit access to the folder. And it makes no sense, because they can delete images that other people have added, even though they aren't allowed to view the image!

Please put the tag button back on the page! I hate having to search through the drop down with the new updates. Weirdly, it appears when you highlight more than one document - but we need it back when only tagging one document!

Download/Export Metadata Template
Allows users to export a metadata template from Box into a CSV/Excel file.
20 votesWe are currently gathering feedback to prioritize the different approaches for a "Metadata export' feature. This might include Box Apps, Admin Reports, or others.

Feeds and tasks in the carousel.
I want to see feeds, tasks and notifications in the carousel instead of opening feeds, not pop-ups or email notifications.
By doing so, the user can notice it quickly.
However, the current carousel has few display items in the first place.1 vote -
Can't browse on mobile after setting a password for a shared link
We can access a file by create a shared link for a file in Box Web App without "Password Protect" for "People with the link" and opening the URL in a web browser on a mobile device.
Then, when the shared link is set to "Password Protect" from the Web App and then opened again on the mobile device, the message "This shared file or folder has been deleted" is displayed and the file cannot be accessed.
The expected behavior is to display the password entry screen. The workaround for this issue is to clear the browser cache, and the other way is to access the shared link from another browser that has never accessed it, and by doing so, the password input screen will be displayed. If we enter the correct password there, we will be able to view the file normally.
However, it is difficult to force external users of the business partner to take steps to avoid this, so we request that this problem be improved.

Box Updates Daily Report
The idea is, instead of getting a flood of emails or notifications throughout the day to rather get a summary of everything that was changed in the day or "A Daily Report." This could also be a weekly report for users who do not want updates throughout the week flooding the email.
This makes it so all the notifications can still be received by each individual without causing issues of too many emails.

Copied photos do not carry any of the comments made on the original file.
Comments that I have added to photos do not remain when I copy those photos to other folders within box. This is terrible as I now have to go through all of the copied photos for a second time and manually add all the comments that are associated with the original picture files.
Please fix this.

Move whith leaving a bookmark menu
【Request】
I would like to see "Move whith leaving a bookmark" added to the file menu.【Background】
We are trying to centralize data management by using Box, but
Copying files and folders within Box becomes inefficient if it becomes the norm.
Searchability is reduced, file merging becomes more time-consuming, and the risk of editing or sending the wrong file increases. We want users to use "move" as their main tool, but
However, if a file is removed from the source folder, other users will be confused and it will be difficult to use.The bookmark creation function is difficult to find and is not widely used.
There are users who understand bookmarks, but they are not used much because of the complicated operation.【Expected behavior】
(1)"Move whith leaving a bookmark" will be displayed in the menu when right-clicking on a file.
(2)When "Move whith leaving a bookmark" is clicked, a shared link*1 for the target file is automatically issued, and a bookmark with the following information is created in the folder.
- URL: File URL of the target file (since the shared link may be deleted)
- Name: {FileName} has been moved
- Description: {FileName} has been moved to a different folder by {the name of the user who performed the move}. If you do not have access to this bookmark, check with {the name of the user who performed the move}.(3)The Move menu will open, and users select the destination and move the file.
Please consider this idea to realize centralized data management and business efficiency using Box.
*1 The open range is the one specified as default in the Enterprise settings. The behavior of issuing an open link by default should be avoided at all costs.

Custom error messages when shared links cannot be accessed
【Request】
I'd like to be able to customize the error message when I can't access a shared link in Enterprise settings.【Current Status and Issues】
The current error message is
"This shared file or folder link has been removed or is unavailable to you.
Think it's a mistake? No worries: Just email the owner or get in touch with Box support. We're here to help."However, it doesn't help with the next step at all.
Even if the owner or administrator is contacted, they often can't identify the file and can't provide any support.
Also, it is not always possible to find out who owns the linked file in the first place.
In many cases, it is not the owner who should be contacted, but the person who sent the link.A message that does not lead to a solution can cause users to give up and leave the shared link.
【idea】
There are several suggestions for desirable descriptions,
however, the best way is for the administrator to be able to freely customize it, just like the login screen, since each company's case is different. Please consider this so that users do not give up using the shared link and go back to attachments.

I want to be able to upload/stream data in real time to a secure Box folder
Drone operators, Tik Tok users, event planners, wildlife professionals, military training heads, aircraft pilots -- off the top of my head, these are just a few great uses for streaming media files in real time directly to a secure Box folder. Omit the extra, less-secure step of capturing material on a mobile device (laptop, outdoor camera, phone, and so on), and then uploading it to Box. And never worry about the camera, phone, or other device holding your precious content failing or becoming lost before you've had a chance to view/upload the data.

Folder tree organization
No way to archive / organize folders (both shared with and created) on box without just deleting them. I have box on my desktop for work and also use the web portal occasionally. I was unable to move folders (that either were shared with me or i created) into an archived / organized manner within my Box workspace. I asked Box product support and they said it wasn't a feature at this point. I'd like to be able to organize all of the folders that I created and were shared with me without having to delete them, or let them pile up into a massive list 50 folders long.

Outlook add-in
I like the saved folder location feature so that I don't have to navigate thru folders every time to choose the destination folder when saving attachments. Thank you.
