Behavior when an external collaboration allowed folder is moved to a non-allowed folder
The "If you move a subfolder in a folder that is allowed to collaborate externally to a folder that is not allowed to collaborate externally, the subfolder will still be able to collaborate externally." behavior is a specification of Box.
The above specification violates Box's waterfall permissions specification. When this happens, Box should alert and remove external collaborations.

Critical Feature Request: Search Function Needed for External Box Links
As a customer managing 7,000+ files on Box.com, we're considering alternative platforms due to a significant limitation in your service. While we've invested in premium features the inability for external users to search within shared links essentially nullifies these efforts.
Key Issue:
External users cannot search within shared links, rendering our organized file structure and tagging system useless during client collaboration. This limitation alone makes us question our continued use of Box.com, as it creates unnecessary friction.Proposed Solution:
Enable search functionality within shared links to:-Improve client experience
-Maximize value of premium features
-Maintain professional workflow
- eliminate double workThis seemingly basic feature would significantly impact our decision to remain with Box.com versus exploring alternative solutions that better support external collaboration.

Automatically generate a password for the shared link
I would like to request the addition of a feature that generates a random password meeting the password requirements on the screen where users create an open sharing link and are prompted to set a password.
When there is a requirement to set a password, manually creating a password each time can be burdensome.3 votes -
Interval in metadata trigger
Hi! Would it be possible to add the ability in Box Relay for the flow to be dependent on the interval between 2 values of numeric metadata?
Now we only have options like "less than", "greater than", but it would be great if we could set the trigger dependance "from...to" like in the search filter1 vote -

scan to box for canon
Scan directly to box folder on Canon ImageRunner machines. Would love to be able to scan directly to Box. Currently only works for Windows, FTP or WebDAV

Display TIFF Files without strict metadata validation
TIFF generated across different business, internal and external streams are not consistent with the meta data validation. Some times, the file metadata claims the embedded JPEG uses 1x1 sampling (no subsampling, full resolution), but the actual JPEG data uses 2x1 horizontal chroma subsampling.
In these cases strict validations causes failures to preview the TIFF images, converting millions of such images to PDFs is not scalable effort.
BOX to provide a feature to ignore strict validation of the meta data.

Support for User-Specific Folder Visibility in HUB
We have use cases where we need to display only the folders a user has access to within a specific directory—such as a users directory in root directory. Currently, the only way to achieve this with HUB is by creating a separate HUB for each user, which is difficult to manage and scale. A feature that allows displaying only the folders a user has permission to access would be much easier to maintain and could support multiple users through a single HUB configuration.

Extend the Collaborations Endpoint to Support "Accepted" Status Filter
Proposed Improvement:
Extend the Box API Collaborations Endpoint to Support "Accepted" Status FilterCurrent Endpoint Description:
The current Box API endpoint for retrieving collaborations (GET /collaborations) supports filtering by collaboration status, but it is limited to the status=pending parameter. This allows users to retrieve only pending collaboration invitations for files and folders. The endpoint is documented at:
https://developer.box.com/reference/get-collaborations/#param-statusProposed Enhancement:
Extend the GET /collaborations endpoint to include support for the status=accepted filter, enabling developers to retrieve all active (accepted) collaborations on files and folders owned by a specific Box user. This enhancement would improve the ability to manage and audit active collaborations, providing visibility into which users or groups have access to specific content.Already filed an enhancement request with the SDK team (https://github.com/box/box-dotnet-sdk-gen/issues/498). Since the underlying API endpoint currently only supports retrieving "pending" collaborations, the SDK team is unable to implement this on their end. Therefore, submitting the feature request here, as it requires a backend API change.

The ability to create File Request Links on Box Mobile
We would like to see the ability for Box File Request to be created from the Box Mobile App.
This capability will allow us to provide secure, ad-hoc uploading portals for our users when out on the field and away from a laptop. This will ensure that we can get the most relevant documents and images as quickly as possible.
Please consider adding this capability for Box mobile so that we may securely acquire content while on the field.

Adding metadata to files uploaded by Box Forms
When uploading files/content to Box Forms, have the ability to add the metadata attributes captured on the form to the files. And for managed users in the Box account provide the option to add metadata to all files, selected files and/or selected metadata on selected files. Similar to file uploader in Crooze.

Box AI for Hubs for External Users
Currently, in order for an external user to use AI for a Hub they are invited into, the external user's EID must also have Enterprise Plus AND have enabled AI for Hubs.
We would like an option to grant external users AI access if their EID doesn't have Enterprise Plus. Thank you!

Display of confirmation message screen to prevent accidental operation of Box Drive
When using Box Drive, it is common for users to accidentally delete, move, or copy files.
When manipulating large numbers of files, this failure can lead to serious information leaks and other problems.
Therefore, it would be helpful to improve functionality such as displaying a confirmation message when deleting, moving, or copying files to better prevent accidental operations.6 votes -
Addition of the ability to enforce “file request” expiration dates.
Currently, users can set an expiration date at their discretion in “File Request”, but there is no function for the administrator to enforce the expiration date setting. In order to deter external attacks and to ensure more secure operations, it would be ideal to have a function that allows the expiration date to be enforced.

Include item type in user activity report
When running an User Activity report, the Item ID is included, but not the Item Type. If you're trying to use the Activity report to perform some other action, you have to figure out what the item type is before you can perform the action. Additionally as ?good practice? you should make check both file & folder to ensure that you're not going against the wrong actual item if there's a item with the same type on the other endpoint.
It would save some significant time on report consumer's side if the item type was included in the output report.
If the item type was included we could
1. Avoid need to find item type
2. Ensure we will be acting against the correct item in case there is are items & files with the same ID.Thanks!
