App launcher should use web URL, open in Box App, and encourage user to download Box App if not present.
I can create a link that will open the box app by using what is known as an applink. This technique is sometimes called Deep Linking.
'boxapp://' opens box on iOS or Android.
BUT traditionally this has left developers needing to try to catch and handle what happens when the Box app isn't already installed (which is also people's very first experience of the launcher app). This typically involves time-outs and other such messiness. By default if the app is not present, no helpful message is given. I note at present your html representation of content shows the 'get box app' and 'open in app' options but the client doesn't want people needing to choose.
Progressively in both Android and iOS, there is a strategy by which the authoritative owner of some Web content can choose for that to be associated with their app and the OS will transition from browser to app, downloading the app as necessary. The app becomes associated with specific domains and URI patterns (similar to a preferred app for opening specific file suffixes).
This latter approach is associated with labels like Intents and Universal Links. But it's not possible to set up the affinity for which box content is associated with the box app myself.. Only the owner of the boxapp and box content can do that. So I'm wondering is that just around the corner?
My Launcher app would be as simple as a regular Web URL linking to the box content, which would result in that content opening in the Box App, whereby the OS would ensure that the Box App installation Page from the store is shown, if the app is not yet available.

We support deep linking and universal links on iOS. All regular Box links should with the Box app today as long as their app invokes universal links the right way (ex: redirects ignore universal links).

Restrict content creation at the user or group level
Request: Root content creation to be set at user or group level instead of the tenant so that the majority wouldn't have to sacrifice a open folder structure for a small subset of users with constraints. Ultimately looking for a hybrid solution.

Control when/how Box Drive updates are deployed
End users don't have local admin rights, so IT has to frequently add the new installers to JAMF and SCCM policies

Tighter integration with Box Notes and Outlook
Box Notes should better integrate with Outlook similar to how OneNote does. From an Outlook event on your calendar, users can easily create a OneNote meeting note file, as well as assign tasks and include emails/contacts on the OneNote file as well.

Add a safe guard/warning for items deleted in local Box Sync folder noting they will also be removed from the Web App
Currently dragging items out or deleting them from the Box Sync folder removes them in the cloud. To my knowledge, there is a warning window when deleting collaborated content, but none for personal content. Please add this.

Create templates for the "Personal Message" when inviting collaborators
This will help us standardize how we contact external vendors.

Add ability for users to open a folder in Box Drive from the Web App
Add some kind of "open in Box Drive" option for a folder. Clicking this would cause Box Drive to open the appropriate folder locally.
16 votesThis seems like it would be better solved with a search improvement to Box Drive. If not, let us know in the comments.

This is currently not planned, but we will consider with additional customer demand.

Ability to set folder notifications for external and internal collaborators within a folder.
Companies with many external collaborators have to walk each user through changing their folder notification settings so the external collaborator will be notified whenever a document is uploaded to a folder. This is extremely manual for us and their external collaborators. It would be easier if folder owners could set folder notifications for everyone within the folder so external collaborators receive the sames notifications as internal collaborators.

Manage external collaborators en masse.
Some Ricardo users have over 50 external collaborators on a single folder. They cannot find any facility to download a list of current collaborators or a way to change the permissions of multiple users en masse.

I see the value to track the history of the settings but it is not on the roadmap due to other priorities.

Folder level comments and tasks
Being able to comment or assign a task on an entire folder would be easier than @mentioning a user on one file and referencing 3 or 4 other ones. It would be helpful to assign a task to someone on an entire folder (and not leave that sort of information in the folder description).
72 votesWe understand the request, but unfortunately this is not on the near-term roadmap. We will be exploring improvements and enhancements to Tasks in the next 1-2 years and will take this into consideration when we do.

Device Trust separate desktop and 3rd party apps
We're trying to limit Box to managed devices. We enable DT on webapp, deploy Box for EMM, but when we try to open/edit a file in iOS Office, DT considers it a 3rd party app and blocks it.
Decoupling the two would leave the desired state of blocking webapp on unmanaged devices, controlling mobile through EMM, but also allowing editing in apps as desired on that managed device.
