Force removal of local copy of item which has been sync'ed
One of our common workflows on Dropbox was
- Move large file to the (Dropbox, now Box) folder
- Wait for (Dropbox, now Box) to upload that content to the cloud storage
- Right-click on the file and select an option to force it to "Online Only" mode, which would remove the local copy, freeing up the disk space
It seems that there is no way to do that last bit with Box Drive, and there absolutely should be. For many folks, the premise of cloud storage is "get this off my local disk", and waiting until some random cache times out days…

Enable online nonprofit members upgrade from techsoup.
current problem: nonprofit pricing is not available without contacting billling . request from online support does not seem to happen unless I have business level membership. So, I need to call in to get support. phone number is not easily available online. Fortunately, I had this before when it took me over a week to get someone to give me access.
Techsoup access should be setup to take me to the nonprofit pricing page so I can enable the membership level that I need.. (ie business plus)1 vote -
File Request uploads to Box include uploader's user information
The following would be ideal:
When uploaded via File Request and logged into Box, the uploaded file(s) will contain the uploader's user information such as name, email address, and more (more detailed information such as tracking code values) in metadata.This idea is based on a use case of a college where a large number of students submit documents via File Request, and college administrators want to make sure which document was submitted by who, referring to the document's metadata.

Enterprise setting for requiring authentication method by default (Box Login, SMS Authentication)
Currently on a per document basis require a user to authenticate into Box before completing a Box Sign request. Similar to file request we would like to see this as an enterprise default option under admin > enterprise settings > box sign

Add permission to grant user access to see (list) of folders and files but not preview any content within the files.
This would provide awareness to the user that a file exists and they can then request preview (or other) access from the owner/co-owner.

Add Tabs function to BoxNotes
Customer wants BoxNotes to add a tab function like Microsoft OneNote
Usability will improve very well

Set values for "external_app_user_id" of Managed Users
We are developing a tool to extract user data from AD, Azure and other IDMs and provision them to Box via API.
We want to use the user IDs on the IDM as a user external key for Box so that we can track the associated Box account when the email address changes on the IDM side.
However, the current attribute "externalappuser_id" of Box users has the following limitationsOnly the App User can be set as the value.

Allow to Update Description in the Upload Section in File Request via API
We would like the ability to customize the description field in the Upload Section of the file request via API.
Currently via API we are only able to update the Header and the Header Description and the
description under the upload section is only editable via the webapp.We are looking to automate the file request via API from certain templates. Certain information will get updated depending on what template we desire which includes the need to update the description under the file upload but currently that is not available via API

I would like to see a lock feature implemented so that tenants with the "Box for Microsoft Office" feature enabled can occupy and edit files
Tenants with the "Box for Microsoft Office" feature enabled will not be able to update locked files.
As an alternative, the following procedure may be applicable, but has the following disadvantages■procedure
①Lock the target file
②Download the file and update it locally
③Upload updated files
④Unlock■demerit
Many steps and cumbersome
If another user downloads > edits > uploads a file that is locked, the file will be updated.Therefore, I would like to see a lock function implemented so that files can be occupied and edited like Box tools.

Sort files/folders/etc by exclusively names
Right now can only sort files and folders by name separately ie. 04 folder, 05 folder, 01 file, 02 file, 08 link, 09 link etc. Would like them all in a row as they are steps to complete/fill out:
01 file
02 folder
03 link
04 file

Online-only applied recursively to mixed folder
It would be great if you could "online-only" a given folder when its contents within are a mix of partially online and offline.
My workflow often requires me to have individual files sporadically made available offline within folder structures, over weeks and months. Easy to lose track of what's locally stored and what's not.
I don't seem to have an option available to click on a given folder with partially offline / partially online files and just tell it to all become "online only" in a recursive manner.

Shared Link creation doesn't automatically add user to folder when adding file in Box for Office in Outlook
When adding a file to an email in Outlook and using the Box for Office integration to upload it to Box and create a shared link, you have the option to make the link visible to Invited Users Only. However, when doing this, it does not add all users as collaborators to the file so they can access the shared link. Ideally, the integration should add the users CC'd in the email ass collaborators if they are not collabed already so that they can access the Invited People only link

Alias files/ links to files
Oftentimes, a file has more than just one "right place" within a folder structure.
For example, if you have a folder for the HR-department and a folder for the legal-team, both teams need to access the subfolder "employment contracts".
On local Windows Explorer or Apple Finder it is possible to create alias-files that link to the "main-file", so you can access a file from multiple locations.
Such a feature is not available in Box. Since it is cruicial for files that needs to be accessed from different locations/ teams, I am asking you to implement this feature.Thank you!

Box for iOS Annotations
The pen and and marker options when using the Annotations feature within Box for iOS is limited as the lines are often too thick and obscure information on the documents used by our customers.
The suggestion here is to add a line thickness slider for both the marker and pen options so that users can experience the same pencil thin annotated lines in the Box for iOS Mobile Application as they do when annotating via Box.com

Add the ability for the board owner to lock some content so that people cannot move it by accident. It helps when collaborating on a board with multiple users.

External user verification via TOTP for shared links
Please consider adding a TOTP verification option for shared links. You could allow a link to be shared to an email address but require TOTP verification via that same email address. This would help verify that only someone with access to the email address we shared with can access the content without forcing them to signup for a free Box account.

Support for passing of special characters (as-is) in query (Box Metadata Query API)
Per the suggestions ...
Use of an "=" could be utilized
Unfortunately, this would break the ability for our search bar to also do loose matches around the "typed search term"
(e.g. "Broadway &" query will not return "Broadway & Commercial"Use of "%" wildcard to replace noted special character
Unfortunately, the results will then be too varied. Any characters will be up for substitution.
(e.g. "C&R" query will then also return "car", "candor", corridor", etc.)*** Could we confirm if there is an appropriate way for special characters to be passed and recognized as-is?
