1. Allow AppUser in developer sandbox to use API to create metadata instances in folders in production.

   Metadata is set up in folders in our production via API by AppUser in the developer sandbox.
   However, metadata templates belong to the production, and production-ready applications are not supported.
   Therefore, we can set item values for the configured metadata instances, but we cannot create metadata instances.

3. Ability to suppress the sending of email notifications of Collaboration invitation acceptances

   We would like to set up the following notification emails so that we do not receive notifications from users within the company,

   as they are confused with notifications from users of other companies.

4. Show only files that are not in the "Collections".

6. Search API for Tags

   The Box search endpoint should be able to query based on Tags.

   The Web App is able to do this already:
   https://obfuscated.app.box.com/folder/0/search?tags=Select

   That search returns tagged results as expected.

   The postman API collection offers a search endpoint example with:
   https://{{api.box.com}}/2.0/search?query=sales

   An error occurs when changing that to:
   https://{{api.box.com}}/2.0/search?tags=Select

   This should more closely match the web ui.

11. BOX Drive - Block local file/folder creation if user does not have write access

    We do not allow creation of root folder in BOX. Also certain folders are read only for select staff. When using BOX Drive if they try to add content to an area they only have read access, the content is listed and appears to the employee, that they uploaded it to BOX. There is a tiny red dot but to many this is not sufficient to let them know the data is not being protected. Please configure BOX drive to not allow a local creation of content within the local BOX path if they do not have editor rights at that level.

    If the shared link is also displayed, the collaborator will not be able to access the shared link when the shared link expires. If the display is up to the ID, the collaborator will have permanent access.

13. Cursor leaves folder name field after creating new folder

    I've found two bugs in the we-based box app. These have both been happening for a while now... several months at least.

    First, when you create a new folder, you can no longer just start typing the name, as the cursor leaves the Folder Name field upon creation of a new folder. Having to click back in the field is a bit of a pain.

    Second, often when I'm uploading something - particularly if it's hundreds of megabytes, or part of a larger upload, after finishing the list of uploads, it will begin uploading the list again. I've uploaded a list of files several times, and come back to find that all of them say V2 because they immediately got uploaded again.

    I've also seen this first hand after completing an upload, where I'll see the upload status start again.

14. Showing PDF annotations on mobile applications

    We would like the ability to show PDF annotations on both iOS and android, from different PDF applications. This would include Adobe PDF and Nuance PDF to name a couple.

    Currently, when a PDF annotation is added from Adobe or another PDF software application, it is not possible to view that PDF annotation from the Box mobile application. You would have to download the PDF to the device locally to view any annotations.

17. Enable Bulk Edit of Admin Settings for Box Sync

    My company is fully transitioning away from Box Sync and over to Box Drive. You can disable Box Sync from being used, but you can't perform a bulk edit on each person's account to uncheck Box Sync. Unless this is done, 'Synced' will still appear on the left hand side of a user's account. This will be a very time consuming administrative change when you have to manually uncheck this setting for hundreds, if not thousands of users.

18. Taskbar icon overlay for Box Drive to indicate if there are any "Problem Items"

    Currently for Box Drive (for Windows) you have to go into the program then Box Drive Settings to view if there are any problem files. Most users will never do this.

    Ideally there should be a red exclamation overlay on the taskbar icon if there are any problem files and they should be shown immediately when you click to open Box Drive.

    This would help end users to see that not all their files are syncing and then ideally also show them the local path of the problem file (that they can click on to access) AND also give them an option to click a link to view the file on box.com if it needs to be fixed there.

    Currently for Box Drive (for Windows) you have to go into the program then Box Drive Settings to view if there are any problem files. Most users will never do this.

19. Box Drive compatibility with MacOS Big Sur

    It appears Box Drive uses a legacy extension no longer supported with the latest MacOS release, Big Sur.

    In addition, the new M1 based machines have been widely applauded for their performance and battery life. I assume this will translate to increased sales.

    So when you do make Box apps Big Sur compatible, I would recommend building a universal app supporting both Intel and Apple Silicon.
