Add link to file location to problem file report page
Many users are prevented from troubleshooting their own problem files because they do not navigate to the actual location of the issue, or they do not really know what file has a problem. This is also a very common sense UX improvement (that would be easy to do)

Persistent Box Drive login for non-persistent virtual environments
Persistent Box Drive login for non-persistent virtual environments. Currently, our employees working in Citrix have to login to Box Drive every day, but they do not need to re-login to other Box tools, such as Box for Office.

As a user, I would like to be able to link the new Box Sync folder to the existing Box Sync folder when I uninstall/reinstall Box Sync.

Ability to Suppress Login Screen from Popping Up
Often times customers want to deploy the Box desktop apps, including Box Sync, prior to users actually being able to log in and create their accounts. Currently, Box Sync auto-starts upon startup to a user's computer, which causes the Box Sync login window to constantly appear.
This request is to provide a simple way for admins deploying the apps to suppress that login page until a later point in time.
4 votesWe’ll look to improve this behavior in Box Drive. No changes planned to Box Sync.

Show amount of time left to complete upload and the number of files remaining
It only shows a progress bar but I would like a % complete and time to complete on the progress bar as well. Also if it could show number of files that are being uploaded and how many are left. That would be very helpful when I am uploading a lot of documents and want to know long it will take to upload.
4 votesWe currently have a progress bar in the upload manager that indicates percentage complete. Adding an estimate for time could be helpful for users, but we won’t be able to prioritize this ask due to conflicting priorities – I’d suggest using the percentage complete as a benchmark for now.

Ability to set different permissions based on where the user is accessing from (i.e. either from inside or outside of the company network)
We want the ability to control permission based on where the user is accessing from. For example, if the user accesses from inside the company network (IP range) they shall have editor permission. But if user accesses from outside, they shall have preview only permission.

Unable to see folders users have access to through Group invitations
A group is given access to a folder on Box (ie Project A). When the admin views what folders a specific user in Project A has access to, it does not show the collaborated folder for Project A

New 'Limited' Content Manager Permission - No ability to preview or download files/folders
A new co-admin option that's more even more restrictive than the current 'View users' content' Content Manager role with the following abilities:
--View users (like currently possible)
--Browse user folder trees (like currently possible)
--View file properties (uploaded, version #, modified, name, description, etc.)
--View collaborators on folders and add new collaborators to folders
--NO ability to preview or download files or folders (this is the critical item that's missing currently for Coke as even the 'view' Content Manager role currently allows the co-admin to preview and download files/folders)This could possibly also be solved by breaking up the Content…
4 votesWe may tackle this as we look at a broader re-work of Content Manager.

Bulk Edit - Add Ability to Change Primary Email Addresses
Bulk Edit currently allows admins to change various settings for users, but it does not allow the admin to 'bulk edit' the primary email addresses for their users. This functionality would be handy in various scenarios, including when a company goes through an email domain change.
Right now, customers must come to Box (Customer Success) to have us run scripts in Internal Admin to do bulk email changes as we do not have this feature natively in Bulk Edit within the Admin Console.

The User Filter is built to only look at the list of current, managed users, so it would be quite difficult to include deleted users.

Report on who deleted from trash
Currently we have configured our Box instance to disallow end users to delete files, only for Admins and not even auto-delete items after X days. However, we are looking for some record/log of this.
4 votesIt will be super helpful to understand the business impact to report on who deleted from trash. At this moment, admins can configure rules to delete trash after a certain period time. This doc would be helpful: https://community.box.com/t5/Managing-Files-and-Folders/Trash/ta-p/19212

Make folder retention policies non-removable (or always visible) to Editors
Today, Editors can remove the visible retention policy from a file or folder’s details panel, even though the underlying non-modifiable retention policy remains active in the background. This means that after an Editor removes the visible policy, there is no indication in the UI that retention still applies, which makes it appear as though the content is not under retention at all.
This behavior causes confusion for end users and admins, and makes it harder to support clear records management and compliance because enforced retention is not transparently visible in the interface.
