IP Whitelisting - ability to block WebApp except Box for iOS/Android because Device Trust cannot configure it.

Custom messages, settings and language depending on geography.
We need a different trash setting to the global instance due to european law.
We would also like to push different messaging, welcome screens, languages to dependent on regions for adoption purposes.

The ability to limit the options for extending the retention period
We only want content to live in Box for a set period of time and want to limit the ability for content owners to extend retention after period is up.
1 voteThis is currently not on the roadmap as we have not heard this request from many other customers. We will consider it in the future if there is increased customer demand.

Ability to Obsolete Folders & Notify Owner
Add an option under the folder settings ([?] button), under Sharing, add an item for Obsolete Folder which upon selecting would go to a simple page stating that clicking Ok will notify the Folder Owner(s) that you believe this folder is obsolete and should be deleted.
Additionally, when selecting Remove, to Remove as Collaborator, that page can also have an option to notify the Owner(s) that the folder looks to be obsolete and is suggested to be deleted.

There is also a current way to achieve this by emailing the owner to ask them to delete the folder.

This is available to set up in a custom environment. However, we do not plan to create an in-product solution to address this need.

When the Allow Content to be Deleted by Users option is selected, allow admin to customize follow-up reminders
For a retention policy, the retention notification is sent to the owner 14 days prior to the expiration date. It looks like this is the only reminder the owner receives.
REQUEST: When the Allow Content to be Deleted by Users option is selected, all admin to customize follow-up reminders to the Owner/Co-Owners once the retention period has passed. This option does not auto-delete the content so reminders would help ensure that they review the file and delete if necessary.

This is an interesting request! However, we have not prioritized it in the short term.
With additional customer feedback, we may reconsider in the future.

Add Templates to the 'New' Button
We often work with very templatized documents on Box.
REQUEST: Add the ability for admins or users to define or 'save' templates to their 'New' menu in Box.

Add User Email Address to 'Account Creation Notification' Emails
PROBLEM: Admins in Box have the ability to receive emails when new accounts are created (via the Account Creation Notification setting in Enterprise Settings -> Security). However, this email only includes the NAME of the user, not the user's email address.
REQUEST: Add the email address for the user to the email (next to the name) since names are not unique within a company (but emails typically are).

Force the Box iOS / Box Android / Box EMM applications to re-authenticate more often than every 60 days.
Ideally, we would like for the timeframe to be user definable.
This is an important security requirement for us as we move into supporting non-GFE devices, so please do let us know if you need additional information.
1 voteThe mobile app is built on top of our APIs and therefore adheres to the standard token durations. Applications that are managed through an EMM provider already provide an advanced level of security that reduces overall risk.
As a workaround, through your EMM provider, you could revoke the Box application and force users to reinstall on whatever basis you deem appropriate.
Some providers may also allow you to revoke the managed app config which will force Box for EMM to log the user out.
At some point, however, you would have to push the managed app config back down to the device.

Add admin setting to change default view for user folders to descending.
Create a setting in the admin console to automatically be able to enable descending order filter for all named files for the whole enterprise. This way each user doesn’t have to do this individually.

Auto Provisioning for Japanese name (lastname->firstname)
When Auto Provisioning option is enabled, the user's name is set "firstname lastname", but we hope to have "lastname firstname".
Currently, Japanese users set firstname information to "lastname" and lastname information to "firstname" in SAML Response.
Firstname and Lastname should be separated like in Salesforce.

Ability to get all folder/file information by "Splunk Add-on for Box"
When we tried to get all folder/file information in our Box environment, Splunk can't get it because the "Splunk Add-on for Box" package simply gets information only of the API key user who is actually an super admin.
if all folders are owned by a super admin, there is no issue. However, we allow all end users to create their own folder on root level.
1 voteSince this app is owned by Splunk, Box has no control over additional features. Please send this request directly to your Splunk account team to get this prioritized on their roadmap.

Provide a Box Note Realtime API so we can create new Box Notes from our custom apps
Our users would like to be able to create a new Box Note from their own custom app menu bar.
This note would be saved in the folder from which they clicked the icon.

"Failed logins" on Enterprise Settings should clear the number of failed login when a user logins successfully
Currently, the number of failed login piles up even after a user logins successfully. It's strange, so it should be cleared when a user logins successfully.

Ability to create a custom group name that will be displayed on the collaborator list without affecting the SSO integration
Currently, groups only have names unlike user accounts that have names and aliases. However, since we have SSO groups enabled, we have found that is impossible to rename groups without causing issues.
Because of SSO groups, we had to have a specific naming convention for our groups so we can know which groups to send to Box. All our group names begin with COMPANYBOXPD and then the corresponding team name. Since these groups are shown as collaborators, it will be nice to be able to edit the group to display a user friendly group rather than the technical…

Pre-Render Previews After File Upload
Currently, Box will only go through the 'generating preview' process when the first user goes to Preview a file.
Request: pre-render files once uploaded such that users (even the first to preview a file) don't have to see the 'generating preview...' progress bar anymore.
1 votePre-conversion (converting the file when it’s uploaded) will only benefit a small amount of users. We will revisit this if user behavior changes.
