Hope this is still under consideration. It's so difficult to identify the correct content to restore as it's quite possible to have multiple items in Trash with the same or similar name. We need to see the folder path from which the item was deleted to determine if it's the correct item to restore AND know which folder it'll be restored to. The current functionality assumes that the user is a single user with no collaborators and isn't part of a business or enterprise where they may have access to many GB or TB of content with often deeply-nested folder paths. So this really needs more attention.

Also, PLEASE REMOVE THE "RESTORE ALL" BUTTON ALTOGETHER. Pretty Please!!!!!

Without such a feature, Box greatly limits the ability of administrators to work intuitively to troubleshoot and investigate issues that come with have a large number of users working in (and breaking things in) a large set of files.

Example: Unknown user deletes an unknown number of files with unknown file names on an unknown date... from a known folder.

Solution: Search trash for "<Source Folder Name>", and see all files/folders that have been removed from that parent folder.

I believe there are 3 basic problems that need resolving with Trash.

1. The Folder Path needs to be clearly identified for both deleted Folders and deleted Files

2. If a Folder has been deleted then it should be possible to drill into the contents of the folder to determine whether it contains the required file(s) prior to a restore of the entire Folder or allowing restore of an individual File from within the Folder.

3. It should be possible to restore Folders and/or Files to a location other than their original parent location

I agree with the points made by Mike Westley on having the ability to sort and filter by the Folder Path.

I would add that a sort by Folder/File Name would also be useful rather than just "Relevance" (the logic of which is not obvious) or "Updated"

The Folder Path should ALSO be displayed in Bin, whilst using Box Admin, viewing a user's Box account Bin

Totally agree - whether intentionally or unintentionally, users may delete large quantities of files and folders, and it not be noticed for days, weeks or months.

Having user Box Admin/Reports to identify content moved/deleted/etc from a particular folder, it is crucial that ONLY that content is restored, either by Box Admin going into the Box account of the user who deleted the content, and restoring; or by doing so as the Data Owner

Because file/folder content can be the same in different folder locations, it is critical to identify the folder path before restoring content

It would ALSO be useful for this Folder Path column to be SORTABLE and FILTER on

I've been invited again to add to this conversation, but my comment directly below covers off the scenario adequately, and for whatever reason continues to post anonymously.

the Trash folder from a user point of view (and also the Admin console) is just a random list of files and folders that offers virtually no functionality for ordering or organising content to be able to find specific items in any meaningful way. Users and admins either need to scan through pages of lists to hopefully recognise the item or use a search on the assumption they know or can remember the item name.

This fundamentally contradicts the logic and use of normal or 'non-deleted' content where users organise content into related groups -by folder, as has been the case since personal computers were invented, and is the principle applied on PCs regardless of OS.

So Box has a retrieval system that doesn't replicate the typical use of every user.

If I have two files with similar names or the same names but in different folders e.g "meeting notes.docx" and both were deleted how would I know which file to recover if one was deleted by accident? I need to know the folder path to figure this out.

When you delete a folder by mistake, you only see files in trash. So you can't easily recover a full folder hierarchy from the user point of view.

We just had a significant data issue and this feature would have helped greatly

management of files/folders in large quantity is next to impossible. Admin colsole file recovery process and options needs dramatic improvement
