I would like to see 4 hours added to the session duration section.
I would like to see 4 hours added to the session duration section.
【Current Specifications】
In the current pull-down menu for session duration, there are only 8 hours after 2 hours.【background】
We feel that the current 2 hours is too short and 8 hours is too long.
We would like to increase the number of items for session duration to better meet the needs of users.(日本語)

UI enhancements for easy viewing of pdf files on iPhone & iPod
When displaying pdf files using the Box App on iPhone & iPod, after scrolling to view the top of the file, the app seems to take control over the display and auto-scrolls the file upward causing the top of the file to be outside of the screen. Is there any way to correct this? Thank you! 8-)

Industry Vertical Specific view of Integrations
Customers are interested to see what the ecosystem is like for their industry sector. Can we have views of our integrations for each of our main industry verticals? For example in M&E, our customers use 5th Kind. However, 5th Kind is not tagged for that sector.

UI alert on invite message when character limit is exceeded
It is VERY annoying to write a nice detailed note to the person you are inviting and then have it just disappear bc the character limit has been exceeded. Box should either not allow you to exceed the character limit, or at least have it refuse to send the invite but not completely delete everything you have just written!!!

Add auto-lock/unlock feature in Box Drive or provide a configuration tool
Add auto-lock/unlock feature in Box Drive or provide a configuration tool
In Box Drive v2.21, it is possible to enable the ability to automatically lock/unlock files when they are opened in Box Drive by modifying the registry.
However, it is difficult for end users to modify the registry, so we would like to see Box Drive include the feature to automatically lock/unlock files, or provide a configuration tool (such as a batch file for registry modification) to modify the registry.17 votes -
Enforce Box Drive naming limitations in WebApp
It would be great to be able to enforce Box Drive file naming conventions in the webapp. This would prevent users from naming files with unsupported characters or . at the end of the file name. This would limit the number of Box Drive errors.

Not inviting a user on a single file via SFC when the user is already collaborated through group
Currently, when single file collaboration (SFC) happens where an invited user is collaborated via Group, it doesn't catch the fact that the user already has an access permission

I would like to see two buttons, "Go to My Account" and "Log in", or be able to go back to the preview screen after logging in with "Go to M
Currently, when accessing a file link in an invited folder in Box without logging in to Box, [Go to My Account] is displayed in the upper right corner of the browser.
When I click "Go to My Account" and log in, the page moves to "All Files" instead of the preview screen that was open.
Previously, the "Login" button was displayed instead of "Go to My Account".
Also, the "Login" button is still displayed instead of "Go to My Account" in browsers that do not have a login cache. If you use the "Login" button to log in, you will not be taken to "All Files", but to the preview screen of the file opened by the link.
After opening a file from a link in a browser with cache and moving to the preview screen, I would like the [Login] button to appear as it does in a browser without cache.
Or, after logging in, I would like to be able to go back to the preview screen of the file opened by the link.

現在、Box内の招待されているフォルダのファイルリンクを利用し、Boxへログインを行っていない状態でアクセスを行った際、ブラウザの右上には[Go to My Account]が表示されます。[Go to My Account]をクリックしログインを行うと、開いていたプレビュー画面ではなく、[すべてのファイル]へとページが移動してしまいます。

Always on top and transparent window
Hello. I use box notes to track and later share everything happening in an incident. So I need to type in or paste things in the note constantly... might be from a chat, whatever. So it would be very useful to have it always on top of the screen while I open and close other apps... and for Notes to not mess with my view when I only have 1 monitor, it would be very useful to be able to play with the transparency of the window. Thank you!!

Box drive hide folders
With Box Drive ALL my folders are displayed on my desktop. While I like having access to them all without having to sync them, I would like a feature which would allow me to hide the folders I am not currently using. The Box Sync environment, which only showed those folders that I was currently working in (and had synced), was a much more efficient solution.

Allow Relay workflow steps to be reordered
Allow edits to re-order Relay steps after workflow is live.
For example, if there is a multi-step (5 person) approval needed on a document, and the team/individual who is currently set up to approve a document first now needs to be moved down to 2nd approver, it would be helpful to be able to reorder the steps without having to rebuild the workflow.
Thanks!

Big Sur - File copy
Since updating to Big Sur when I drag a file from BOX drive to my desktop it MOVES the file, deleting it from BOX. In prior OS the file would be copied to my desktop, leaving the file on BOX as well. Please revert back to the previous behavior where dragging a file to the desktop makes a copy.
Also, I no longer have a BOX folder on my desktop. I found this helpful as well.

Ability to preserve metadata when overwriting a file
In order to overwrite a file, if you download it and then upload it again, metadata and other information that is set only for the file will be lost.
Please make it possible to overwrite files with metadata and other information only on Box, without downloading.
Or, please add the ability to copy metadata only. This would allow for more seamless sharing of data handled by different companies and departments.

shared links need to remain the same if file is revised
We create PDFs from InDesign files, which I then right click the PDF and "Copy Shared Link" to send to our coworkers and place in a shared file. If we make changes to the InDesign file and resave the PDF with same name and address, the links should remain the same. Right now if we revise the PDF the links are broken and we have to resend new links to everyone and place in the shared files. (We used to use Egynte, and if we made changes to a PDF like this (same name, address) the links would still work - this is a tremendous time saver.)

Notifications sent on a specific date through Relay
We have files that need to be moved/copied on a specific date. It would be helpful if it were possible to use relay or comment to send a notification that a file needs to be moved or copied when the date is reached.

Shield classification user permissions
Request to make classification application settings specific to the classification. Currently, the setting for who can apply/remove a classification is for all classifications, but there are cases where it would be helpful that a classification to be only applied by owners and other where co-owner, or even editor would be allowed to apply certain classifications.
Examples:
1. A classification tied to a Shield access control rule that only owners can apply or remove
2. A classification tied to a Shield access control rule that owner/co-owners can apply or remove
3. A classification identifying a type of content that owners/co-owner/editors can apply/removeCurrently there is one setting button that affects all classification. This proposal is for a setting option for each classification.

Box Sign capability for Enterprises with restrictive shared link policy
We are not able to initiate a signing request using existing content from our Box instance however, we can by choosing and uploading a file from our file system. Support is telling me that our organization's shared link setting of "Shared links can be accessed by: people in your company and people in this folder only" is causing this behavior and that Box Sign will not work unless we change it to "People with this link" Can the capability to use Box Sign with our current settings be enabled?

"inactive" or "archive" flag maps to less-expensive storage
FEATURE IDEA:
Provide ability to flag/classify files and folders in a way that allows Box to move them to a less-expensive storage offering on the back-end. This can be referred to as an "inactive" or "archive" flag.BENEFITS & BACKGROUND
During the Box Higher Education Community Monthly Open Discussion on January 11th, an idea to submit to Box Pulse was formed, and seemed to have support from all in attendance (25-30 institutions).
Box acknowledges that there is a growing concern around constantly increasing storage, and the costs associated with it. The majority of files stored in Box are perceived (or actively reported) as being "inactive" and yet those files are costing Box and their customers the same amount. As a result, organizations are searching for alternative cost-effective solutions to move their data into. Implementing a separate solution for a subset of Box data requires significant technical, administrative, procedural, and support overhead.
Given a user or admin-driven active/inactive flag, Box could engineer their platform to use cheaper back-end storage for inactive data, and more permanent storage for active data, ultimately providing a more cost-effective service.
Administrators could be given the ability to set the parameters for what makes something an "inactive" file, and then allow end-users to tag their own content.
Allowing a view and controls around "active" vs "inactive" content, means Box could then provide X amount of "active" storage, and Y amount of "inactive" storage quota either included in the price, or for an additional fee (at better a less-expensive per TB rate). Organizations can then choose to deploy the associated quota controls and processes based on their own budget and needs for active and inactive storage.
Market opportunity -- other cloud providers do not provide user-initiated controls for this kind of approach to data storage and management. If the providers are implementing anything like this, it is not transparent to the user. Box may have an opportunity to retain users and their data, by providing a more cost-effective glacier/cold-line/archive/inactive data storage offering, side-by-side with the rest of the Box platform.
