Reporting function for file size and type by folder
A reporting function for file size and type by folder, including a breakdown of this information for enclosed folders, per-folder.
For example, we are interested in the space taken (per-folder and by file type) for a body of data in Box, but the aggregate of these folders has roughly 1.1 million files and takes 3.5TB of space. We would like to see a breakdown such that we could see, for example, that of the 3.5TB, XX% is PDF, pictures, music, movies, MS documents, etc., as well as the size of each enclosed folder.
I started running a "Files and Folders" report on Wednesday, 02/24/2021 and it is still not done a week later. The output from that report is far more detailed than I need and obviously takes too long to run to be practical. It is also difficult to parse data of this scale into any readable format.
Thanks for the consideration, I hope this reporting feature can be added.

Remove folder from desktop
I would like to be able to not have the Box folder sitting on my desktop and only sit in the Finder's sidebar, along with GSuite, or Creative Cloud for example.
The reason for this is: 1 it adds clutter to the desktop. 2 on Macs, having folders and files, especially big files there, actually will slow down the performance of the computer. Not many people realize this. The items on the desktop are constantly being pinged by the computer using resources.

Set enterprise settings via api
We have an open risk item on the Box platform due to lack of controls on change management.
Specifically:
Box console settings must be manually performed across dev, test and production environments.
Lack of automated mechanisms to maintain consistency with the settings across the environments may allow weaknesses in lower environments (dev/test) to be exploited to exfiltrate data or modify data or inconsistencies between functionality tested in lower environments and what is configured in prod.
We would like the ability to be able to configure the settings via API so we can build environment management into out CICD pipeline. We believe many other customers with tight security and compliance controls would be keen for the same.We have an open risk item on the Box platform due to lack of controls on change management.

Allow enter date for tasks within a workflow
Today the initiator of the workflow can enter recipients for a task outcome, but cannot specify date. This is very limiting in case the tasks should be completed by a certain date that can only be known by the initiator.
I have a use case for a highly valuable workflow, but because of this missing capability it cannot be implemented.
I believe that adding this capability make a lot of sense and would make the use of tasks in workflows much more powerful.1 vote -
Sidebar is too dark
Font needs to be legible in sidebar of Favorites. Currently the font is white when viewing list of all files, but font turns black when viewing a specific folder. It's too hard to read black words upon blue background. Please revise, thanks.

Make an Exit Button Available Again
The new update removed the ability to exit a document from the File tab. Now I have to type in Box in a new tab and go back to the folder I want by hand every time I want to exit a document and edit another one. Also, it does not always automatically open a new tab anymore when I open a document, which prevents me from being able to have the folder open in another tab.

Dropdown list is overlapped
When there is not enough space for dropdown list to show on direction of bottom, currently it shows on top, but top is not a appropriate choice because maybe there is less space on top of the menu button.

Update Issues with creating new folder and naming folder.
With the new updates, when you create a new folder and the window pops up to name it, you have to click into the type box to name the folder. The typing cursor should just automatically be ready for you to type. It used to be this way until the last update. Messing up my workflow...

Ability to restict folder view to only show folders the user owns
Allow ability to restrict folder view to ONLY those folders which the user owns. Either a separate view or something like a checkbox to enable/disable the restriction.
For example, a user is leaving the company and wants to transfer ownership of their folders to another user. There is no easy way to see what folders you own. With hundreds of folders it could take a long time to find the ones you know to transfer them.

I want to be able to check the checkbox on the "Group Administrator" setting screen when I click the checkbox.
In the setting window of "Group Admin Permission",
the items cannot be check/uncheck although the operator click the check boxes.
(The item can be checked if the operator clicks over the item names, but not in the check box.)
It would be nice if the item can be checked as its check box is clicked.3 votes -
Upgrade Box Drive-G Drive 100 MB Limit Size Limitation
I have a ticket number - #2250687 that has been closed because we need a feature request. When a file is created in Google Docs via Box, most of our users at Apeel keep having issues making changes, saving, sharing or downloading files.
What happens is Google makes edits to the file, the file grows larger than 100 MB, Google then fails to send those changes to Box. While this scenario is not desired it is technically expected; because of the Google error, Box is unable to receive new information and update the file size or content. Please upgrade your 100 mb limit to at least 500 mb so we can work seamlessly with Box since we rely on Box to work with other teams within our company. Thank you.

Marker based paging for search
It would be great if the public search API supported marker based paging to avoid duplicates coming back in search results. Currently we're only able to search based on limit and offset but that's not stateful so each "page" or results may have overlap with previous results. I believe there are other marker based paging APIs for Box. This would bring search in line with how we handle paged results elsewhere.

Microsoft Office, most recent documents
• In Microsoft Office, if you want to open a recent document, it only shows you your 3 latest documents from Box, whereas with our old server (or items you save directly to your computer), it goes back MONTHS.

drag and drop jpegs
• You currently do not have the ability to simply drag and drop a JPEG from Box in to PowerPoint (or any other document), which means you either have to open the doc, take a screen shot and copy/paste the screen shot OR use the “insert” function on PowerPoint and them go through your files to find it

Save the message body in the box folder (as you already do for attachments)
Box allows to create e-mail address for the specific folder and upload files to box by sending them as attachments.
Please add the feature to save the message body itself, not only the attachments.
As a pdf, as a text, or as a msg file, doesn't matter3 votes -
If users log in from "Microsoft Edge", send them a notification saying “Box login from "Microsoft Edge".
Users receive the notification mail of login activity saying “Box login from "Windows Chrome" even though he login from “Microsoft Edge“. It should say "Box login from "Microsoft Edge"

Error message when sharing due to inclusion of URL in message
When sharing a file or folder, the optional message will trigger an error if the user includes a URL in the message text. Instead of just validating the message body in context, the validation cancels the entire sharing popup interface and all of the email addresses that the user carefully entered and the entire message body that the user carefully crafted is lost. Why not just prompt the user to not type a URL and leave the sharing popup interface intact for correction? Also, an email address included in the message body is apparently considered a URL, which is not clear from the error.

Allow default to full screen view on iPad horizontal view (like portrait view)
I like to view box in full screen and because I use landscape view often, I have to hit the double arrow every time I go to a page. In portrait view it automatically goes to full screen view. I'd like an option to automatically go to full screen in landscape.

According to BOX, this is what is being Watermarked “For App Users, it is their user id and current timestamp. The default watermark cannot be customized at this time.”
Right now the Watermark is their “USER ID”, and we need it to be their USER NAME or NAME.1 vote
