Integrate Box for Office with Box Edit
Integrate use of Box Edit (Open files from Box.com, edit, and save back) with Box for Office (Create new files in Word, Excel, etc. and save to Box.com folders).
For example - I frequently generate a series of documents that originate in Box.com, but I want to use the Box SAVE AS command to save them back to the same Box.com folder (or one adjacent to it in the file structure) with a new name. Current functionality when I activate the Box SAVE AS option from an Office application is to treat it like a newly generated file, requiring me to navigate from the root folder to the intended destination. I would like a file opened from Box.com to prompt default navigation to the source folder. It doesn't sound like a big deal, but navigating four or five levels down, 20 or 30 times a day on time-critical tasks gets stressful! Any others using Box as a primary project drive finding this frustrating?
I have thought of a potential workaround (instead of open/modify/save-as, I will try copy/rename/open&modify) though I haven't tried it yet.

macOS SDK support
It would be great to see full macOS support in the Box SDK.
I realize that the name of the Apple-flavored SDK is "box-ios-sdk", but "osx" is listed as one of the supported platforms. It compiles and links just fine, but the code path bails on OAuth sign in support.
It looks like most of the SDK would work fine for API calls post authentication, so I think it's mainly a matter of wiring up browser-based sign-in like Dropbox does for their SDK: https://github.com/dropbox/SwiftyDropbox. This seems to be confirmed by a response from @sujaygarlanka in a submitted GitHub issue: https://github.com/box/box-ios-sdk/issues/702 where it's suggested that I could use developer token auth. With that approach, I can only access my account, making it so that I could never build a Mac app for other Box users (making the SDK not particularly useful for most use cases on Mac).
Thanks for your consideration!

Box CLI - need more output options for folders:items.
Specific to "box folders:items" but probably other commands as well:
1) If I'm asking for --csv, AND specifying the fields via --fields=, I don't need a header telling me the fields I just requested. I'd like an option to disable the header, or default disable it and make me add it back.
2) If I'm asking for specific fields as --csv, give me just those fields. If I'm asking for --fields=id I don't want it served back to me as "folder,#", I don't want to know it's a folder. If I later do something against that ID that is not compatible with it being a folder, let me handle that.
3) Same as above, but for --json, just give me id:#, not type:folder and id:#

4 votesHello,
We are not planning on changing --csv or --json behaviour in CLI.
Fields ID and Type are returned by API by default and removing them from the CLI would mean to modify the existing CLI behaviour.

more keystrokes = worse user experience
In the last month, when I create a new folder I've noticed I now have to tab into the field to name the folder. It didn't used to work this way. Previously, upon creating a new folder, the cursor would automatically be waiting for me to type in the folder name. This isn't the first time that Box has updated a feature to require more keystrokes. The same thing happened with the Share>Create Link feature sometime within the last year. It takes one or two more keystrokes to create an open sharable link now.
So this request is specific in the case of the New Folder feature (bring back previous cursor behavior), but it is also a general note to Box to please consider making your interface more efficient in terms of keystrokes required, not less.

Separate set of granular controls for Box for Mobile and Box for EMM in Mobile Tab of Enterprise Settings
Use case: Company uses MDM provider in tandem with MFA. Presently, the Mobile tab applies to all mobile applications. They need much stricter settings for MFA users than Mobile Iron users (e.g. only allow upload/view files)

Delete accounts on "Inactive" status
I’m hoping you can allow us to delete inactive account regardless of what is in their trash can, that’s just ridiculous. Please make this change so we can self- manage our Box accounts.

Support the use of Advanced Search with Metadata by External Users
Since the ability to search for documents was sold to us as a feature and now we discover that it is actually NOT a feature that can be used by external users, I believe we will start the search for a new product to replace Box.

Allow Box Drive Folders to be added to Windows Library
My company has a lot of folders on Box, but only a few are relevant to what I do. In order to facilitate quicker access to the folders I use I created a Windows Library (Windows 10) and attempted to add the Box Drive folders I use to the Windows Library. But my attempts to do this resulted in Windows displaying a message "This folder can't be included because it is on a removable device" even though the Box Folder is on my Computer's C Drive. This capability works fine with Box Sync, but not Box Drive. Please make it so Box Drive Folders can be included in Windows Libraries.

limit deletions
My staff need the ability to upload & download various files, but I don't want them (or me!) to have the ability to delete large swathes of my database. I can't find a way to limit this, in Box

Password Forgot Link should not be on the initial Login Screen of the Mobile app.
I believe the forgot password link on the initial Box Login Screen should be removed from the app. The scenario requires you to enter in your Username First (Email). At that point Box knows if the person is SSO or not. If the person is SSO it should bring them to their IDP. If it not it should provide a password dialog box and the option to reset the password.
An option to reset the password should not be present before you enter in your username(Email).

Shared Link Comments
We share our creative to our clients using shareable links. It would be great if non-box users had the ability to make comments on the files shared. We are switching over from dropbox and that was a feature that we use with our clients on a very regular basis. It gives us the ability to have all of their feedback in one place.
Please let me know if this is doable. It's top priority for our team :)
Thank you!

viewer uploader edit file name
Would like to explore a custom permission level - between Viewer-Uploader and Editor, which would have all of the Viewer-Uploader rights, as well as the ability to "Edit File Name".
The use case for this is the following - some users upload documents to a folder, but then need to be able to rename the documents. Renaming the documents before upload isn't an option due to specific workflow constraints. Giving Editor permission is not an option as there's been negative experiences with users accidentally moving or deleting customer folders.
Thanks

Create a group and then assign them tasks all at once
When assigning a task we have to add each assignee one at a time. Can we create a group and assign all at once? I send off to 11 and Barbara has 18 names.

Limiting Box integration locations
When creating a Box Integration - the ability to limit which folder(s) the integration appears in would be helpful. Some features are not applicable to all folders.

Limit the resources being used by Box Sync
Users would like an option to limit the resources being used by box sync. This is affecting coworkers; it is not just an issue with machine.
11 votesWe are not planning to implement controls around this in Box Sync. You may consider trying Box Drive to see if that improves the resource utilization issue. Since it only uses bandwidth for content users access, it may help to improve things here.

Ability to control access to Box Mobile App per User/Group
Ability to control access to Box Mobile App per User/Group.
I file the request on behalf of the customer.
The customer would like to control access to Box Mobile App per User/Group but it seems that Box can only disable Box Mobile App per Enterprise at this moment.6 votes
