  1. Recommend an automated, timed backup onto a secure Duke folder for ToolKit folders/files to improve deleted file recovery options fora team

Recommend an automated, timed backup onto a secure Duke folder for ToolKit folders/files to improve deleted file recovery options for a team. Now it appears that recovery of files that were deleted in a shared Duke Box Toolkit folder can only be recovered by the individual that deleted the file (not the co-owner or admin without the assistance of the individual that performed the deletion). For critical files this is a security risk to just store the files on the Box Drive because it severely limits identifying and recovering deleted files. The individual that deletes the file could do it…

  2. A snapshot of contents within a Box drive folder

Have you ever looked at a top-level Box folder and felt overwhelmed by the prospect of having to dig through and drill down to every sub-folder just to know what the contents are?

Do you get discouraged at the thought of looking for a single file that could possibly exist way down the rabbit hole of Box folders and sub-folders?

Would you rather have the ability to glance at a snapshot of an entire Box folder and all the sub-folders and files that exist within it?

A simple yet effective solution is a "tree directory" view. This is a feature…

  3. relay in progress view showing too many tasks

Box lacks a dedicated way to see what tasks require my immediate attention.

Tasks "in progress" show all tasks I haven't worked on, plus all tasks that my (former) colleagues have not yet finished. As we have some group tasks that not all colleagues respond to, the list of tasks is getting very long and makes it very hard for me to organise my work.

A dedicated view "my open tasks", holding only the tasks that require an action for me, would greatly help.

  4. Don't files separately from directories.

Currently a click on the "Updated" column will sort the contents of a directory by the updated date, except all folders are listed first followed by files, rather than a complete sort of both. This is frustrating and unexpected. Please just sort the entries, regardless of file or folder, so items show up where they are expected and are easier to find.

  5. Collections items are not allowed to be dragged and dropped onto Trush.

Users can drag and drop folders and files registered in "My Collections" and "Favorites" to "Trush".
In this case, the folders and files will be moved to Trush.
On the other hand, the user recognizes that this operation unregisters "My Collections" and "Favorites".
This difference in perception caused operational problems.
A user has moved a folder containing tens of thousands of files from "My Collection" to Trush, which has stopped the business of that person.
    My request is:
Folders and files displayed in "My Collections" and "Favorites" are prohibited from being moved to Trush by drag and drop.

  6. WoW Storage Usage Metric

I'd need week over week total space used report that can be exported for the past several years. (ideally 7 years, same as other reports)

Part of this data is currently available in Insights (Admin Console), but it only displays for the past 30 days and doesn't have ability to export in CSV or Excel.

    Background:
To calculate our ROI on Box and to report to our executive, we'd need a way to find out the historical data and its increase rate.

  7. ability to upload direct from a clients google drive to Box

We have found that most of our clients use google drive for storage of content for us to work with. We could really use a tool that assists us in transfers direct from google drive to our Box

    Thank you

  9. Improve to view the status of tasks

As users are currently able to view by icons whether or not shared link is on files and files are locked at a glance in the "file list" view, we would like to view if tasks are done or not at a glance

  10. Admin Console insights for Daily Active Users, Monthly Active Users and Power Users

We would like to see insights for users in Admin Console like the Box Customer Success Manager visualizes. For example,
    - Monthly/Quarterly/Daily/Weekly User Active User
    - % of Monthly/Quarterly/Daily/Weekly User Active User versus Deployed Users
    - Who are Power Users

  11. Add a 'description' for folder and files at the top of the page, just below the folder/file name.

A description of the folder at the top of the page will save time for our users, stakeholders and team members. It can be used as a way to describe what a user can expect to find in a given folder; and if this option extends in all sub-folders and files, it can help save a lot of time, bandwidth, and storage.

The following format example will work well:

Account name > Project name > Research files

In this folder, you will find data about the project research and all the research files that are available. For any information on…

  12. Extend Box Notifications and Tasks to systems of engagement

Provide a framework that enables Box partners to extend Box notifications and tasks to their systems of engagement. For example, when content in Box is shared with a Space in Webex, users should be altered via Webex of any updates, changes, comments (including annotations), tasks applied to the respective shared content.

  13. Nested folders

With the current collections capability, it looks like collections don’t have any organization within them. If you wanted to organize things into “folders” within your projects you’d have to title collections all at the top level with a naming that implied a hierarchy in order to map shared items into groupings one layer of organization down. Something like:

    Collections:
    Project1-folder1
    Project1-folder2
    Project1-folder3
    Project2-folder1

I would have preferred to build an arbitrary folder tree and place shared items into specific places in my folder hierarchy.

Obviously it would be more useful if this organization was available in Box Drive too.

  15. My folder has disappeared on 25th Feb

For some reason my folder called "NewCo spin-off" has disappeared on 25th of Feb. I talked with IBM support for 2 hours, the girl said that she will raise a ticket but she didn't. Below is the chat. Can you please investigate this issue - why did it happen? People were using it and all of them ask me where the data is.

Hi, thanks for contacting Win10 support in Beijing, This is Kathlyn, Please allow me few moments to read over your inquiry and create a support ticket for you.

  16. 2fa

Title: 2FA – Session Level NOT Machine Level

    Category: 2FA

    Idea:

    After enabling 2FA:

    Steps followed:

    Quit Safari (v14.0.3) (Cmd+Q)

    Launch Safari

    Navigate to account.box.com/login

    Login without 2FA (2FA enabled)

As a separate test, I also removed my Safari session from Box security, quit Safari (Cmd+Q), opened Safari and was able to login without a 2FA credential.

When a user removes an active session (or saved login location), any new login attempts should be seen as a new computer, and thus prompt for the credentials setup by the user logging in.

I was able to get Box to prompt for…

  17. Delete the history of "Inbox" and "Recent Notes" in Box Note.

Delete the history of "Inbox" and "Recent Notes" in Box Note.

You cannot delete the history of "Inbox" and "Recent Notes" in Box Note.
It is not necessary to display Notes that are no longer relevant to the user or that they no longer need to access.

By deleting the history, only the Notes that are relevant to you will be displayed, which will improve the efficiency of your work in Box Note.

    Box Note

  18. restrict by file type at folder level

Would like the ability to restrict File Types at the folder level, (with Waterfall rule would be ok, but ability to break waterfall would be a bonus).
Currently we use Quarantine Policies to restrict .msg files in Box, but does not allow us to make exceptions by folder. (eg. to allow certain departments this ability, but block from others).

  20. Password Protect Folders Designated as "Invited People Only" Collaborators

I would like to add passwords to folders that are tagged as "Invited People Only" to increase the level of security on the content. I would like to create a folder that is shared only with invited people, and also add a password for the folder to ensure content is as secure as possible, e.g., pre-lease earnings reports, HR terminations, pending litigation, etc.
