Default sort order to updated descending
- Trash default sort is Name Ascending – Can we get this changed to Updated descending
- In any view, when clicking the Updated column, can we get the first click to be Descending instead of Ascending.

box-ui-elements content-explorer needs real thumbnails
The Content Explorer element needs at least the option to use actual
file thumbnails rather than the generic ones based on file type
currently shown. Otherwise browsing large collections of images and
videos is very cumbersome to the point of not even being worthwhile. The
API appears to have a thumbnail/representation endpoint so using it from

Support Emojis in file names
Box currently does not support Emojis in filenames, which means it won't sync if I drag and drop a file from my desktop into Box Drive. It would be great if Box would support the same characters in file names as current OSes

Upload embedded metadata for search
We would like to have the ability to have metadata search work for files that are uploaded to Box, if the metadata was already embedded on the file before the upload

Add a BOX datastore to allow native search on Windows
Box can only be searched with the box search window, ctrl+shift+alt+b which is a workflow downgrade because it is not possible to search in a file browser and also it is much slower.
The solution is to provide Windows with a BOX data store and send notification to the indexer when files are synced or changed, then search service will take care of everything for you and we win!
The benefit of this method is that you have full control over what you feed the indexer so there is no security risk. For example you can let only filenames for…8 votes -
Show date in the file area
In the file area, the most recently uploaded files are shown with a date of yesterday or today. Unfortunately, there is no current date shown on the page for reference. This seems like an easy fix.

box for outlook
Box for Outlook needs to support moving multiple emails to a box folder. Right now, I can only file an email to box one at a time, and the button is greyed out when I have more than one selected. Also ability to show some box folders in Outlook and drag and drop to those folders.

Improvements to Collaborations Report
The current report misses of two vital items of data when managing External Collaborators. Namely the data last logged in and the date the account expires.
This extra data would allow administrators to see who is using their Box account and who is due to expire in the forthcoming period.
Please vote for my idea.

preview print
Allow the permission to just "view" & "print" files.
(However, you manage to do this)...Maybe it's as simple as having a tick button for a Previewer to also allow printing
...Currently, a Previewer can view and not print,
...a Previewer/Uploader can currently Preview and Upload (Print is meant to work here but is currently not an option despite permission tables saying it should)
...a Viewer can currently Preview, Print and Download.

Silently sign in users to Box Drive using their Windows Credentials.
“Enable silent account configuration. For info, see Silently sign in users to the OneDrive sync client with their Windows credentials. If a device is not already joined to Azure AD, enabling this setting will join it.”

Remove collaborators from certain sub folder
We need some enhancement on the removing collaborator for certain sub folder. For example I grant Amy to the parent folder which consists of sub folder A, B & C. However, I want Amy to only view sub folder A & C. Thus, I need to remove her name from sub folder B but BOX doesn't allow me to do so. My suggestion to at least add a function in order for the owner of the folder to remove collaborators for certain sub folder. Thank you.

Automated Folder Actions
Under Folder Settings -> Automated Actions, the "Unshare this folder on a specific date" option is a little confusing/misleading as it does not indicate that this is only for folders with a Shared Link enabled, and has nothing to do with removing/unsharing collaborations. Recommend the language be updated in this setting, instead of saying "Folder must be shared first" to "Shared Link must be enabled first"

Support the use of Advanced Search with Metadata by External Users
Since the ability to search for documents was sold to us as a feature and now we discover that it is actually NOT a feature that can be used by external users, I believe we will start the search for a new product to replace Box.

Search issue
1) Searching in "File and Folder names" only will display results foun in file metadata:

Enable account upgrades without needing to have 3 members
I currently have a Personal Pro account, and I'd like to upgrade to get more storage. It seems, however, that all upgrade options involve at least 3 users. I am but one. As much as I'd like to clone myself sometimes, it's just not practical (or, frankly, ethical...but that's another story).
Can we make a way to upgrade a 1-person account without having to pay for two unnecessary users?
If not, you're essentially throwing up a middle finger to solo practitioners, which isn't very nice.

Ability to @ mention at a specific point in a document
We have a user group that wants to be able to @mention each other to take action related to specific points in a document connected with the @mention.

Set cookie to remember which Box enterprise the user last signed in as
The Box web app should set a cookie in the user's browser to remember the Box account they last signed in as, and take them directly to the SSO (or Box login) page for that enterprise, without the three intermediate steps where the user has to click "Not a part of External Org?", then enter their email address, then click Next, and only then get to their SSO screen.
This is an issue that often comes up when collaborating across enterprises.

Microsoft Teams - Attach a File using Microsoft Teams
Please add Box as an option for
“When you would like to “attach a file” (paper clip icon) menu using Microsoft Teams”
This would greatly improve easy file sharing and collaboration.
