Request new report by file extension
While you can check rough file types from the storage in admin insights, there are many situations in operations where you need to understand capacity and file counts at the extension level. I would like to request a report that can show file sizes by extension. I also want it to support filtering by owner.

We want to change the owner of a file in the trash
There is some content that we do not want to completely erase, but we would like to change the owner due to capacity issues.
Therefore, we would like to change the owner of the files in the Recycle Bin.
17 votes -
Hubs permission model should be more granular
Currently in the Box Hubs Beta, all collaborators invited into a Hub receive the "Viewer" permission on files and folders linked in the Hub. This does not allow for Hub content to be view-only and block downloading of content. Alternative methods of managing this such as rolling out classification policies would not be scalable as Hubs usage grows. It would be great if Hubs collaboration could be more granular and there was an ability to invite users or groups into a Hub with other permissions such as "Previewer" so they are more restricted on what they can do after accessing…

Increase Multi-Document Querying Limitations from 10
The current system limits the number of documents that can be reviewed in a single session, which has led some public sector users to process eligibility documents in multiple smaller batches. In practice, screenings often involve significantly more documents (70 in some cases) than the system currently supports in one batch (10 max), resulting in added workload and inefficiency.

Deleted Shared Link Lookup Tool
In the same manner as below, we'd like the capability to search for disabled shared links as well. Currently, there's no way to locate files if the shared links have expired or become inactive.

Add Box Hubs to mobile app
Can Box Hubs be added to the mobile app, or is that in the roadmap already?

Open read-only in BoxDrive
Users with viewer privileges are not allowed to update files, but in the case of files that are updated simply by opening them, such as .xls files, an error will occur each time the file is opened in BoxDrive.
Is it possible to open files from BoxDrive in read-only mode?-in Japanese-
28 votesBox Drive doesn’t currently provide a built-in “read-only open” option. Instead, whether a file opens in read-only mode depends on the application (Excel, Word, etc.) and the operating system.
Here are a few possible workarounds:
- Download a local copy and open it outside of Box Drive.
- Use Box Preview in the web app, which always opens in read-only mode.
- Adjust application settings (e.g., in Excel you can configure certain files to always open as read-only).

Increased file limit for Box AI for Hubs
Currently, Box AI for Hubs is limited to 10,000 files per hub and 1,000,000 files combined across all hubs in an tenant.
For use cases such as distributing hubs on a departmental basis, this number is low, so we would like the limit to be relaxed.Box AI for Hubs
53 votes -
Ability to Reassign Group Admin Permissions En Masse
Via the GUI, it would be great to be able to reassign group admin permissions to a user for multiple groups in bulk. Use case is one user is admin for many internal groups, they leave the org, and their admin role requires replacement.

I would like the restrictions on Box AI to be lifted or reduced.
It's great that the Box AI query limit has been lifted.
Next, we would like to see the following three limits lifted or reduced.
・Limited to 1,000 characters per question
・Text content size limit is 1MB, with larger files only processing the first 1MB of text
・Non-English languages may produce lower quality resultsOf course, we would also like to see the accuracy of the AI improved. (Especially Bax AI for Hubs)

Box Preview - Support native preview of .XLSB format
For regulatory requirements, users are required to have the 'Previewer' access level on certain content to avoid Download permissions.
However, this means the user is unable to use Excel Online Previewer (due to this requiring 'Download' permission), nor open the file in another editor.
Unlike the .XLSX or .XLSM formats, .XLSB files do not generate a PDF conversion, which makes these files fully inaccessible to Previewers.
The request is for .XLSB files to be supported in Box's native Content Preview.

Redundant Shield alerts
Box Shield should be able to recognize when the same file or file set appears in multiple locations and treat it as a single item, rather than generating duplicate alerts across each instance. This would allow users to acknowledge (or dismiss) an alert globally—once for all occurrences—rather than having to clear it separately for every flagged file.

Support IAL2/AAL2 Identity Providers as a Box Login
Box should partner with identity providers like ID.me and Login.gov, allowing for enterprises to ensure a smooth and secure login process for managed users and external collaborators alike . Users should be able to use these credentials to access Box.
This is especially important to reduce the risk of unverified external collaborators accessing sensitive enterprise content. Ideally, admins can enforce these IdP logins for external collaborators (similarly to how the current 2FA setting for external collaborators works). These two identity providers can require IAL2/AAL2 identity verification and authentication in accordance with NIST 800-63-3 standards.

Change the wording in the log in / Homepage
Could the wording on the home page be changed to read "Employee of..." instead of "Part of ...."? We share Box with external users and the wording is confusing as they are part of the company but do not work for it.

Box File Request - no longer on brand for us - we would like to be able to change the picture or leave as a solid color
We utilize the File Request links regularly for our clients. Recently, there has been a change to the cover picture, and now our clients can't easily identify that it is, in fact, our branding and under our purview. We would like to go back to having a solid color that we can customize/match to the rest of our Box site or be able to customize the picture choice.

Shared Links Report Enhancement - Report from a specified folder and below
I would like a filter to be added to the Shared Links Report where you can specify a specific folder and the report will run with that folder as the top level and report on shared links for everything below that. This would run much faster than running the report for our entire tenant.
We have much of our data owned by a "Project Account" so it is not controlled by a specific employee. Because of this, running the report with this user as the owner using the existing filter option is much the same as running a tenant-wide report.…

API Support for Managing Shared Links on Hubs
This request is to add Box API capabilities to view, create, update, and remove Shared Links for Hubs. Currently, there is no API support for managing Shared Links on Hubs, which limits automation and integration with enterprise workflows.
Enabling this functionality would allow for programmatic control of Hub sharing, improve governance, and support scalable content distribution strategies.

Let me turn off Box AI
I have no use for AI. I do not want Box AI in my workflow at all. But since Box AI was implemented, my default sidebar on the Box web view is Box AI. This is useless to me, and more annoyingly, it replaced Activity (a very useful sidebar) as the default, making my experience of Box less productive and more annoying. I encounter this many times per day and it is infuriating.

We would like the number of contents per hub to be displayed in the Box Hubs management function
When using Box AI for Hubs, the current limit for the number of pieces of content that can be placed in one Hub is 10,000.
We would like to be able to check this upper limit in the Hubs list in the administration console.
12 votesHello! This functionality is already planned for development.
