Box Shuttle should allow Box as one of the source systems to migrate from
Currently, Box Shuttle standard tooling only supports migrations from OneDrive for Business, Dropbox for Business, and Google Drive as a part of Google Workspace. Box Shuttle should support Box as one of the source systems, so that Shuttle can be utilized for Box to Box migrations.
For example, consider this use case: a researcher is leaving institution A, and their research lives in institution A's Box instance. Their new institution, institution B, uses Box, and they need to get 10 years worth of research data from institution A to institution B's box instance, without having to download and reupload, or using a third party for privacy reasons.

Upload, copy and paste .DES files.
I can't paste in my Box Drive folder .des files that come from a software I use. I can upload them manually to the cloud in the web app, but those files won't sync either. This never happened with other cloud service software and I can't work without those files and the program won't run.

Shortcut to open file directly without preview
We would like to have the option to open a file directly without opening the preview first (or right click --> open with).
Maybe this can be done via a shortcut or a default setting in the user preferences?

Create Annotations/Markups with Viewer Role with Watermarking Enabled
When Watermarking is NOT enabled on files/folders, users with the Viewer permission are able to markup/annotate without downloading the file. As soon as Watermarking is turned on, that functionality goes away. The only option is to increase their permissions, which gives them rights to upload, which I do not want. Why does this functionality go away when Watermarking is enabled? Is this able to be fixed?

MFA self reset up
Currently, when a user get locked out from their own account when the MFA is turned on, they need to contact Box support team to get it usable again.
It would be great if users can self reset from the login screen without submitting a support ticket.5 votes -
Shield Dashboard to search files
I would like to have a feature in Shield Dashboard to search files to malware deep scan result. This is because the admin receive feedback about a specific file from end users and so the admin would like to check that file easily from the dashboard.

Ability to save Sort preference
Hello! I'd like to be able to save a sort preference for all my folders for the team. So if I number the folders they always appear in name, ascending order. Instead each time you enter a folder you have to sort it.

Force user email validation for external collaborators
In the case that Person P from Company B is laid off and p@b.com mailbox is turned off , the Box.com External Account is still active with whatever security it had. Person P can keep accessing Box.com and CNMLLP content without CNMLLP or Company B knowing about it. Also, external bad actors can guess passwords and gain access, and there's no visibility. If we can force an external collaborator to click a link in a email, for instance in a browser-initiated Password Reset that sends an email right away, then it proves that Person P still has access to P@C.com and is probably that person

When inviting people, I would like to search not only by name but also by photo, department name, etc. Is there a way to do this?
When making an invitation, please include not only your name and account.

Ability to see full name of Groups and Folders in the Admin Console
When adding or reviewing groups in Box new Admin console, we are unable to see the full name of the group and it does it does not appear in alphabetical order. Same is true for the folders collaboration section. The names are cut off and you cannot scroll or hover to see the full name. Even shrinking the screen does not help. This is very problematic for security reasons as you may grant access to the wrong group or the wrong folder or create duplicates if you miss seeing an existing group or folder. And it wastes alot of time. Please fix. It is very very frustrating.

Box Sign should be approved by the Certificate Authority in Japan
Currently, Japanese law requires that minutes of board of directors meetings be sealed by an electronic signature service that has been approved by a certification authority.
However, Box Sign has not yet been approved by the Certification Authority.
In order to make further use of Box Sign, we'd like Box, Inc. to get approval for Box Sign from the Certification Authority.

stop adding bullets to tabs when copy/pasting.
Simple, when copy/pasting, don't add bullets to tabs that don't already have them. Keep all formatting the same.

Bandwith warning
As there are quite dire consequences for overstepping the monthly Bandwith Limit, it would be good to have get some kind of Warning before it happens.
Maybe an E-Mail Notifikation saying something like "you've already used 80% of your Bandwith this month."Or at least have a graph in the Admin Console showing how much bandwith was used that month.

Update the user detail report so that the administrator can see status of the automatic acceptance of invitations
Invitation auto-acceptance settings can be changed for each user, but may be "pending" when an admin invites a managed user to a folder.
Please add an item so that administrators can check the setting status in the user details report whether the managed user has automatic invitation approval disabled or enabled.＜ユーザーの詳細レポートに招待の自動承諾設定をどう設定しているかを確認できるよう項目を追加してほしい＞
招待の自動承認の設定は各ユーザーで変更できますが、管理者が管理対象ユーザーをフォルダに招待する際に「保留中」になることがあります。

Box for Salesforce - Setting to choose auto-collab permission
We want the collaborating to be more restrictive, i.e., we don't want users to be able to delete content. Right now we have to customize that interaction.
One way is to add a setting that, rather than auto collaborating a user from SF, the SF Admin can choose the permission level to auto collab Users (for example as a viewer or viewer uploader)

Provide a sync client for Linux - like Dropbox, Nextcloud etc has.
When logging in to the shared area I've been invited to, I get a pop-up telling me to complete my set up by downloading the sync-client. But, there is no sync client for Linux to be found, at the download page.

Save Sorting Preferences
When using Box in-browser, create a setting to change the default sorting preference. For example, so you can make the default sorting for all folders Name, Ascending. This is not currently an option and means every time you open a folder you need to manually resort it, as the default sorting is always set to Updated, Ascending.

Provide an S3 Compatible Interface to Box. This will allow applications that have native support writing to S3 storage the ability to natively write to Box instead.

Grid View For Shared Links
For people accessing a shared link on Box, without having been invited to collaborate, there ought to be an option to view files/folders/etc in "Grid View". This is available on mobile devices and when you are a collaborator -- but if you're accessing a shared link from a computer, this option is not available.
I needed to share a folder containing several thousand photos with an email chain I was a part of. I wanted the recipients to only be able to "view and download" so sharing with a link was more appropriate than inviting them all to collaborate on the folder. However, the fact that those folks were only able to really look at a single photo at a time proved very difficult.
If the grid view feature that's available on mobile could also be added to the regular Box site, that would be great!
