Future tasking
Sometimes I drop a file on box and needed a reminder in the future to look at the file again. I wish that box had a function where I could task myself to look at a file or take an action on a file in the future.

We want to be able to see which external users are downloading the files they have access to and when they download them

Extract pages and request signature in Box Sign
It would be great to be able to extract specific pages from a box document and request signature on those pages, without sending the entire document or having to save/print the pages to a new file first.

Shield Classifications Available for Certain Folders Only
Currently, if you create a classification label it will be available to apply to any folder or file. The ask is for the option to make the classification label available to apply in only certain folders.
An example of a use case is for an ITAR classification label - users should only apply this label to content in a contained ITAR folder. While in other folders they should not see the option to apply this label in the dropdown.
Auto classification policies currently has a similar feature, 'Folder Criteria'. For the classification labels, it would be great to have a similar configuration, 'Folder Criteria' with the options, 'Available in all folders' or 'Available in only selected folders'

Leave the username on approval tasks intact even after account deletion
It is hard to trace approval history on a file after the related users are deleted. This causes a lot of friction with customers. It would be better if all usernames would stay on approval tasks even after their respective accounts are deleted.

Business Justification enabled in Access Policies, even if you block or allow specific domains.
In the Admin Console, when you create an access policy the security options allow you to restrict external collaboration. Then you can override this permission by providing a 'justification'. However, the if you configure the access policy to 'block' specific domains or permit only specific domains, the 'justification' does not activate. I would like to see the user justification still be active. This provides a secondary reminder for the user that is going to be sharing the information to someone else.

Groups exportable Report needed
I think every organization's admin could use a quick User Groups report. Essentially it would look like the Groups page, with the addition of Shared Folders and names of members.
Columns:
Group Name
Created Date
Number of Members
Group's Admins
Group Members (Names)
Group Description
Shared Group Folders12 votes -
New Metadata Types that Reference Files, Folders, Users, and Groups
Provide the capability to store and manage a relationship as metadata. This would allow you to model peer and parent-child relationships between Files, Folders, Users, and Groups. This would store the unique id for the Box object and provide a user experience that would allow you to navigate to each item by clicking on the metadata value.

Shareable links that have direct download. By clicking the link the image/file begins to download immediately.
Some of the new product set up forms are automated and require links that automatically download the image. I recently had to migrate all of my images to DropBox in order to complete this task as they offer this functionality.

Provide a Datastore to store Developer App Variables and Configuration
Following the same pattern as Slack's Platform 2.0 Datastore support:
https://api.slack.com/automation/datastoresThis would remove one barrier to entry for managing app-specific data for Developers.

Allow Pin Feature to files
Allow a Pin Feature to allow the user to fully customize filing. Make it possible to pin a file(s) in a folder so it will not move in a numerical or alphabetical order but in the order that works for your company or organization.

Add a Box eSign workflow as the final step of a Relay contract review workflow
On Box Relay, can Box Sign directly integrate with a contract review Relay workflow? The idea here is that they want to create a workflow that reminds legal that they have things needed to be reviewed? (I.E. legal is getting a ton of requests, some things are being forgotten)

allow opening of Recent Files in Microsoft app, not just the browser
In "Recent Files" clicking on the three horizontal dots/ellipsis/meatball menu allows you to open Microsoft files in the browser, but not in the app. It'd be nice if you could just open in the app from the Recent Files section. Thanks.

External files are displayed in Content Manager
The External Collaboration Report outputs folders and files that are invited from outside as "external folder" and "external file".
The Content Manager only displays external folders, which is not consistent.
Therefore, we would like the external folders to be displayed in the Content Manager as well.5 votes -
Manual pause syncing
Sometimes I want to reorder / organize / rename files before syncing.

Automatically enable the Dev Console in a new Developer Sandbox
When creating a new Developer Sandbox at https://app.box.com/master/sandboxes, it would be helpful to see the "Dev Console" button at the bottom left of the Box dashboard when logging in as the Primary Admin of the sandbox. You can access the Dev Console by navigating directly to https://app.box.com/developers/console, or by clicking a button in the invitation email, but if that button is overlooked, it can be confusing to figure out how to navigate there.

Relay: Trigger from External shared folder
Would like the ability to create Box Relay workflows where the trigger is in an External folder. My specific use case is our bookkeeping partner provides us dozens of files per day across several processes, and they use Box on their end to manage that process. We'd like to have for the folders that they share with us the ability to create a Relay flow that would trigger when they add files to those folders (e.g. When a new file is added to External ABC, create a copy in Internal ABC and notify some users).
This would allow us to eliminate a work step on our partner's end of constantly sharing files with us, and remove a work step on our end of downloading those files from their portal.
Understanding there are some nuances here, especially since in this example my organization would not be an editor on the external folder, but for actions that don't require edit privileges (copy, notify, etc.) would think this is feasible.
