Enable external users to have Editor or Co-Owner permissions
External users can only be given Viewer permissions which limits the functionality of Hubs. It would be useful if they could have Editor or Co-Owner permissions just like they can for folders.

Enable Deep Research Mode for Box AI Hubs
<Current Observation>
Box AI Hubs provides fast responses, which is great. However, for complex queries, users sometimes need more comprehensive and well-rounded answers.<Suggestion>
It would be helpful to have an optional "Deep Research" mode, similar to ChatGPT's approach, where the system takes more time (even up to 30 minutes) to review all relevant files in the Hub and generate a deeper, more thorough response.
This feature would make Box AI Hubs significantly more useful for detailed research and decision-making.<
Box AI Hubs
4 votes -
Metadata Taxonomy Searches MCP Server
We use taxonomy fields in some of our metadata templates. Using Claude.ai to access our data via the Box MCP Server we are unable to search taxonomy metadata fields. Enabling this would be very helpful for our use case. Thank you.
2 votesI'd love to hear more about this. Would you be willing to jump on a quick call to discuss this use case further? Here is a link to my calendar:

Embedded Widget wont load on my website if third-party cookies are blocked in the browser
Recent changes by Box have made the embedded Widget I have been using for years useless. None of my clients allow third-party cookies by their browsers. They have been uploading files to me for years but now must "grant access" and approve cookies by Box, sometimes a four-step process to get access via the Widget on my website. Not workable. Will use a One-Drive link to solve, but disappointed. Your support team suggested I send my issue to you.

The number of entries in the view and graph do not match.
I would like the specifications to be changed so that the total number of entries in the view and the graph match.

Update Salesforce SDK Automatically using Box OpenAPI Spec
The current SDK (https://github.com/box/box-salesforce-sdk) is very outdated and not well-maintained. With Box's ability auto-gen SDKs, we would like the SDK team to evaluate adding Salesforce Apex to the list.

Administrators to be able to monitor when a BOX sign is sent
BOX sign
BOX sign

When a BOX sign is sent, for example to an external party, we would like a method implemented to verify that it is a legitimate signature request that has gone through the proper route, and to prevent such misuse. We understand that this is possible when combined with Relay, but creating a combination with Relay for all contracts and other documents requiring signatures is not practical. Therefore, we request a function to notify administrators as described below.
If administrators (e.g., contract managers) are automatically notified when a BOX sign is sent, they will be able to verify whether internal approval has been completed and whether the contract details are correct.

Restrict CLI authentication to specific users
In Box Clients, the only options for CLI authentication are to enable or disable it for all users. I would like to be able to enable it for specific users only.

About the Box AI Agent in Copilot
When using the Box Admin Console, it is possible to identify which files the Box AI Agent accessed and when.
However, there is no way to determine how many prompts each user has submitted to the Box AI Agent via Copilot, nor the number of times they have done so.
Similarly, there is no method to understand, at a system-wide level, how many prompts are being submitted to the Box AI Agent overall.
Unlike general generative AI services, we understand that there is no cost incurred based on usage frequency (i.e., the number of prompts submitted).
Nevertheless, from an administrator’s perspective, it is important to understand usage frequency. By providing a way to track this information, organizations would gain value by being able to report how extensively generative AI is being utilized.
We strongly request that a mechanism be provided to monitor and understand the usage frequency of the Box AI Agent.<<<

The upper limit on the number of file requests that can be "bulk deleted"
Due to Box's specifications, you can delete file requests all at once using the following steps.
However, if you try to delete nearly 1,000 file requests, you'll receive the error message "Failed to delete link." The following steps prevent you from deleting them.[Admin Console > Content > File Requests > Select multiple file requests > Click the trash can icon that appears]
For security reasons, we need to periodically delete large numbers of file requests to prevent unnecessary requests from being available for a long period of time.
However, currently, the only way to delete nearly 1,000 file requests is to delete them in parts.
This requires a lot of time and effort, so we'd like the limit on the number of file requests that can be deleted at once to be increased.【

Box drive should only show and sync the selected folder and left the unselected online only
Box drive now allows you to hide folder. Be frankly this is useless. Because for most the IT users, we normally enabe showing hidden folder/files option in Windows explorer. So for more prefessional usage, the Box Drive should only show and sync the selected folders. The folders not selected should be left alone online.
One example, I have a box drive hosting many folders. Each folder hosting one project. The projects could be from different client. When I work with client A, I only want client A project folder to be sync and shown on my desktop. But now the other project folders are also included in the sync set. Even it is hidden but as said as long as you enable showing hiddeng folder/file option, you can still see, more importantly access those folders and files. This leads to potencial data leak.

Box for Outlook - Allow Configurable Setting that will autocovert an attachment to a link when over a certain size
Sharefile's Outlook add-in allowed for you to define a size threshold for attachments. When that threshold was reached, it would automatically upload the attachments to Sharefile and then insert the link to the file(s)
This feature made it simple to share larger documents, or multiple documents that would cause bounce-back emails for trying to send an email with too large of size. This was also much quicker than taking the time to create a new folder, upload the documents, then attach the links for those documents to the email.
I understand that this would require some other types of decisions to be made, such as where does the file get uploaded to? Perhaps there is an autogenerated folder for each user account that it sticks the files in, similar to Box Reports, Box Shuttle Reports, My Box Notes, My Canvases, etc.
You can find some of their documentation here:

Security Control - Download and Print Restriction, possibility for Owners/Co-owners and Editors exceptions
Security Control - Download and Print Restriction, possibility for Owners/Co-owners and Editors to be excluded from this restriction.
Currently, for managed users it's possible to restrict all users except Owners/Co-owners and Editors.
It would be beneficial to have a similar option for restricting external users1 vote -
Convert Box Drive File to Box Link when Emailing Copy of File
We use Box to store company documents, and most people prefer to work with the Box files natively on Windows via Box Drive. The issue is when someone wants to circulate a copy of a file stored on box. The standard practice is to drag a copy of the document from Windows Explorer to an Outlook email. This results in a copy of the document, so future collaborators are not editing the Box document, but rather a copy.
This is a common feature in most established DMS products, where the user is asked if they want to upload the actual file or instead, a link to the file so that when the recipient opens the attachment, they are directed to the file on the server, not the copy of the document in the email.

Enhanced Granular Access Controls for External Collaborators
Current Limitation:
- Existing shared link and external collaborator settings apply a uniform 30-day restriction across all external users
- No ability to create differentiated access rules for trusted partners or affiliated organizationsProposed Feature:
Implement a multi-tier external collaboration access control system that allows:
1. Configurable access duration and permissions based on organizational relationship
2. Ability to create exception groups with extended or permanent access
3. Granular control to distinguish between:
- Completely external users (standard 30-day restriction)
- Trusted partners/affiliated organizations (customizable access duration)
- Specific trusted domains with distinct access rulesUse Case Example:
An organization wants to:
- Maintain strict 30-day access for unknown external collaborators
- Provide longer/permanent access for trusted partners like subsidiary companies or closely affiliated academic/research institutionsBusiness Value:
- Increases flexibility in collaboration management
- Reduces administrative overhead of manually managing access
- Provides more nuanced security controlsCurrent Limitation:
