Shared Link Details: Add 'Item is in trash Y/N' Column
Shared links to items don't work if the item is in the trash, but the link still shows up in the shared links report, which can result in confusion

Route files to a specific user via the embed widget
We would like to be able to pick what user content goes to with one widget.
2 votesI think this would be better addressed with platform elements. This way, you can build out the exact functionality you seek.

Indicators / Progress Bar for Large Folder Operations (Moves, Ownership Transfers, Delete, Copy)
When doing a move of a large folder or changing the owner of a large folder, users often receive a 'this may take some time' banner notification in the webapp, but that quickly disappears and the user is left wondering... "so...has it finished fully yet?"
REQUEST: Have more indicators (progress bar, e-mail updates, etc.) of progress in the operation, especially for folder moves/ownership transfers.
Example: In our mobile apps, we provide a 'job manager' that shows the user progress when they're performing various actions.

Upload multiple files simultaneously in embed widget without creating zip
We have a media-recorder PC that records presentations. We need to be able to upload these to our Box folder from there, but since it is accessible to many persons, we cannot be logged in to our Box acct and email for long periods while the large files are uploading.
They are large files (500mb-1gb), and up to 45 of them, so zipping and unzipping would take a lot of time and PC power, plus we'd like to be able to share them as-is once they are uploaded, without having to download on a personal machine, unzip, then re-upload.

Introduce a combination of version labels and version dependent permissions.
Compared to legacy ECM systems, versioning in box is limited to data states over time. There is no notion of a document lifecycle attached to a certain version (WIP, draft, published).
The mandatory check in/out of legacy ECM makes the system very user unfriendly. However, it would be nice if we could somehow label certain versions. The list of labels could either be fixed, or user definable.
If we combine this feature with a new permission: "view documents with status published", we could now have one directory where people work on their documents, but external people would only see the…

Access Stats: Ability for Users in Restrict Content Creation EIDs to Still Use Export Feature
Provide a folder picker as part of the Export flow to allow users in EIDs with Restrict Content Creation to still take advantage of the Export feature.

Additional information on folder activity report for root folders
We have 150 plus sub-folders. Information we would like it to contain:
Date / Time
Date
User's Name
User's Email
Action
Item / Name
Size
Contained in Folder
Change Details2 votesIt is technically challenging to run activity reports on all subfolders within a folder. We will not be prioritizing this work at this time.

Shared Link Details: Add 'Last Usage' Column
The Shared Link Details report is a great report currently that provides admins a wealth of information when performing an 'inventory' or security review of all existing shared links.
One additional column that would be very helpful to include is a 'Last Usage' column that would provide a date entry for each shared link.
Usage is defined as the last time someone actually used that link in a browser. This is helpful to admins to be able to know if a link is still being used or not (prior to disabling it for security reasons.)17 votes -
Add a Webhooks v2 event trigger for restoring a file version
If a file version is restored (via the webapp or API), there is no associated event trigger that captures this action. If an admin is monitoring a file for changes, no webhook is triggered for this action.
7 votesThis is not currently planned. We will consider it with additional use cases and customer demand.

Add ability to localize Metadata attributes and values
When adding new values/attributes to a metadata template, the same value is used by all users regardless of user's locale.
For companies that have users in a wide range of geographies, it would be helpful to be able to give metadata attributes/values different names for different locales.

Support Password-Protected Shared Links for Box Notes
There's a known issue/limitation currently (https://community.box.com/t5/Managing-Your-Content/Box-Notes-Notices-and-Known-Limitations/ta-p/340) where Box Notes do not work correctly when the shared link is password-protected.
REQUEST: Allow Box Notes to have password-protected shared links just like any other file on Box.

Sync Selected Items
Sync scans everything even when only adding 1 or 2 files. Include an option to only update Box Sync with the recently chosen files to prevent an extended scanning process

Ability to copy and paste formatted text from other text editors (i.e. Word, BBEdit, etc.) into Box Notes better
Our users experience a lot of trouble when trying to copy and paste formatted text from other text editors (Word, BBEdit, etc.) no matter the format they try to paste it in. They typically always lose numbering, bulleting, and more.

Make the digest header in the Commit Upload endpoint optional
Currently, Commit Upload endpoint requires passing a Digest header for the sha1 of the entire file.
Given that the integrity of each file part is already verified, consider making the Digest header in the Commit Upload endpoint optional
