Viewer-Uploader Copy Experience
As part of our workflows, we copy template forms into other folders. Our users are not all comfortable using keyboard shortcuts to copy the forms so everyone needs to be an editor in order to use the UI to copy and paste.
We would like to see the UI for copy introduced for viewer-uploaders.

Allow End Users to run a Collaborations Report for Content they Own
As organizations scale, IT Admins may want to enable end users to manage their own content and who has access to this content. Users being able to run a collaborations report and/or a folder and files report on content that they own is important for enabling users to manage their own content collabs so that these responsibilities can be distributed, and don't necessarily fall solely on the admin and security teams who manage Box to audit content and associated collaborations. End users that own content should be empowered with all the tools necessary to manage who has access to content they own at scale, and reporting is a crucial aspect of this.

Get Rid of Waterfall Permissions - Allow Subfolder Security To Be Set Differently
It is absolutely ridiculous that a company as large as Box is using waterfall permissions for all enterprise accounts.
In a business environment, it is absolutely necessary to be able to set specific permissions on subfolders within a large data folder that all users have access to. This is a simple feature included with every other cloud file provider we've ever used.
Needs to be included ASAP.
27 votesHi, I am a Product Manager for Box's File System, I am looking for real world examples from your business needs where the waterfall permissions doesnt work. The more elaborate the example is the better it will be. Would you be willing to share?

Ability for people outside the company to be able to upload to folders via an editable shared link. Currently this is only available for files and not folders.

Enable File Upload Notifications Programmatically
Ability to turn on File Upload Notifications when programmatically creating a File Request. https://developer.box.com/reference/resources/file-request/
This update allows users to do this manually but the API cannot turn on these notifications.

Workflow to delete all files in a folder on a schedule
We have setup request folders we send to external users to upload files. Currently we need to manually review the contents of each folder and remove any uploaded files before sharing.
We would like a modification to the delete workflow that would allow us to delete the contents of a folder. That way we can setup a scheduled workflow to remove all files in a folder at the start of each week. This way we can reuse the request links and know the contents will be deleted after a week.2 votes -
use @mention in the Office suites of software (Words, Excel, PowerPoint)
Currently, we are able to do commenting of the document in Box by using the @mention. But we are not able to do the same when we are editing document in the native Ms Office software eg Words, Excel & PowerPoint. The @mention does not work.
Would like to have the same feature when we are working in the native document?

Enhance Content Insights for Box Notes and Box Hubs to Include Detailed Access Statistics and Click Metrics
I am requesting an enhancement to expand the current Content Insights feature for Box Notes and Box Hubs. At present, Content Insights only shows basic statistics, such as whether a file was accessed, edited, or downloaded. However, it lacks detailed insights into user interactions with specific links or images within these documents.
As many users publish content through Box Notes and Box Hubs, having access to metrics like link clicks and image views would be invaluable. This data would help users better curate and optimize their content to meet their audience's needs.
By adding these detailed insights, Box can provide users with a deeper understanding of how their content is being consumed, enhancing the utility of Box Notes and Box Hubs.

Shield Classifications Following Content in Drive
In Box Drive, the classifications do not follow the content. For ITAR customers, I can copy a file from ITAR folders (with a shield policy) to another folder for non-ITAR content and share it without restrictions.
This works in the web app, but not in Drive.

Enhancing Box with ERP System Integration
Hi everyone,
I’ve been using Box for a while now and appreciate its collaborative features and secure storage solutions. However, I believe there’s potential for Box to evolve further by integrating more deeply with ERP systems.
As businesses continue to adopt digital solutions, ERP systems play a critical role in managing and automating core business processes like finance, supply chain, and human resources. By enhancing Box's integration capabilities with ERP platforms, such as SAP, Oracle, or Microsoft Dynamics, users could:
Streamline Document Management: Automatically sync and organize documents related to invoices, contracts, and reports directly from the ERP system to Box. This would simplify compliance and audit processes by keeping everything in one place.
Improve Collaboration Across Departments: ERP systems are often used by various departments within an organization. Integrating Box would allow seamless sharing and collaboration on critical documents, ensuring everyone has access to the latest versions.
Boost Efficiency with Automation: Implementing automated workflows between Box and ERP systems could save time on repetitive tasks, like approving purchase orders or updating financial records, leading to more efficient operations.
Enhance Security and Compliance: ERP systems handle sensitive information, and integrating with Box’s secure platform could add an extra layer of protection for sensitive business data. Plus, Box’s compliance certifications would help ensure that documents meet industry regulations.
I believe these enhancements would make Box an even more valuable tool for businesses looking to optimize their operations and maintain a competitive edge. I'd love to hear others' thoughts on this idea and whether you've encountered similar needs in your organizations.

When multi-selecting folders, have the ability to invite users to the folders you selected
Multi-selecting folders is an amazing feature. We would like to add the capability to invite people to folders users have multi-selected.

Please allow us to set the default sort preference for individual folders.
It is very frustrating, that the folders all default to descending order by file name. This should be able to be set for each folder.

Require 12 characters for External Collaborator Passwords
Currently, if 'Require Strong Passwords for External Collaborators' is selected, the external collaborator will be required to use at least 8 characters (along with additional criteria). The ask is to require 12 characters, rather than 8, for increased security.

Retain "Request Viewed" timestamps on cancelled & expired Box Sign envelopes
We are not able to easily see the View history on cancelled or expired Box Sign envelopes -- it only reads "Cancelled" rather than "Request Viewed," so it is unclear if the recipient saw the document prior to its cancellation. This would be extremely helpful for confidential documents, etc.

Not able to filter tags on images

A function that allows users to check classification labels at the folder level from the mobile app.
When storing highly confidential information in Box, it is necessary for each end user to recognize that the folder as a whole contains confidential information.
While BoxWeb can recognize folders that confidential information by using classification labels, the mobile app (Box for EMM) cannot.
Since users need to be aware that the folder as a whole handles confidential information, please implement a function that allows users to check classification labels at the folder level from the mobile app.<モバイルアプリからフォルダレベルの分類ラベルを確認できる機能>
11 votes
