Box Sync: Sharing file Message box character length too short
When sharing a file; in the Message (optional) text box please list the max amount of characters that can be entered in that box. Also, can we increase the number of characters in that box to maybe around 400? It was recently decreased and is now effecting my ability to do my job.

Create an auditor role
A Non-Admin role is required that is able to view reports and configuration but unable to make changes or have any access to the contents of users' folders... Basically the Auditor role.
• Inventory of Users and Roles
• Identify folders that has not been accessed in 180 days
• Identify folders that are accessible to anyone with the links
• Identify the links that do not have expiration date
• Review security settings

PLEASE bring back the pre-selected Share link
PLEASE re-add the pre-selected text highlighting to the Share popup box weblink.
Previously in Box, when you tapped the "share" button it brought up a highlighted, pre-selected web link that could simply be copied (Ctl-C) and pasted. You did not need to select this link, it was already highlighted for you, all you had to do was click Ctl-C (go to email), then Ctl-P to paste the link.
Since the update, you can set so that the link appears, but this link is no longer pre- selected – you have to physically go to that link and select it with…

Set up the Box Drive installer so the user gets to Single Sign On (SSO) by default
There are quite a few steps when logging in to Box when installing Box Drive. It'd be helpful for us if the users could get to the SSO window directly instead of first having to enter their email address and then click the (not so obvious) ”Sign In with SSO” link.
It'd also be great if the ”NORDUnet Box Service” could filter away the list of services based on the domain name in the email address the user just typed, especially since typing the name of the institutin and and then ”enter” (which I know one isn't supposed since the…

Link shared link expiration date to time zone other than PDT
In Japan, shared link is disabled the day before the set date because reference time is linked to PDT.

1. Search for specific file extensions. 2. Replace file extensions within box web
We should be able to type in a specific file extension in the File Type.
Ex. I'm trying to search for all .4tx files that we have, which are old 4sight Fax documents. These files are actually TIFF images, but we need to replace the extension on all of them so we can view them in our current environment, since we don't use that really old application. New "simplified link"
I hate the new "simplified link" deployment.
When I post a new file online to make it available to one of my clients, I simply copy and paste the link into an email I send them. With this new deployment, the shared link must first be enabled (it is disabled by default). This means you've just added at least a couple of additional clicks to my work flow each and every time I send a link to a customer. Share Link Always Enabled
The Share link should always be enabled or give us the option to have it always on. We do not use the collaborate function of Box but always use the "share link" function. To now add a step for us to use that function is not thinking of your current users uses.

SSO - Partial replication
Allow SAML assertion to translate Azure’s GroupID attribute to name and allow the option to only select a subset of IDP groups for Box synchronization.

Transfer Ownership Enterprise Event
Currently, when you delete a user the only way to show that the content from one user to another user in the enterprise events are track two separate events:
- UPLOAD (Creation of the new folder with the user's naming convention)
- MOVE (From unknown location/user, to the new folder)This mean you needs to track the newly created parent.name and the move event with the item.name. I'm proposing two potential enhancements:
1) Enhance the MOVE event to show the source user/item details AND target user/item details.

ReadOnly Downloads
Allow files to be downloaded via the API when the only Application scope checked is "Read all files and folders stored in Box". Preferably as well users should be able to go into the list of apps authorized to access their files and enforce readOnly access as well.
It is a completely unnecessary liability for apps that only need to download files, and an unnecessary security risk for a User/Organization's data.

Version Number Included on Download
When downloading any document, the "version number" should be automatically included in the file name to avoid confusion.

Add "Copy file" and "Copy shared link" to the horizontal bar in Box preview
When I get shared links for which I want to reuse to create my own decks I have to download the file , make changes and upload it back. Would be convenient for the user to just "copy" the file because at that point they had download rights anyways
When I get shared links and I want to share the file further its not clear to me that I could copy the same url and send it ahead. Some users end up downloading the file in order to share further which leads to data fragmentation

When copying a link that has a past due expiration date notify the user when they copy the link
When copying or emailing a link from Box Drive that has an already past due expiration date notify the user when they copy or attempt to email the link so they can update the link. That way the sender doesn't receive feedback about the link not working and appearing incompetent.

Ability to disable user from logging into Box.com for Salesforce Integrated
For Salesforce Integration, provide a per user permission to disable user from logging directly into Box.com. Business Case is to keep users in Salesforce and use Box there only.

Allow Enterprise Event API Endpoint to access 7yrs worth of data to match the activity reports provided by the web app
Enterprise Events API endpoint only allows retrieval of events up to one year back. Activity reports in Box go back 7 yrs. Events contain a lot more useful data than activity reports so the request is to match the retention period between the two so the same amount of data can be collected via the API or web application.
