Tags are viewed to be an ad-hoc method of collaboration between users, whereas metadata is the recommended admin-managed structure for your whole enterprise. With metadata multi-select fields, an admin should be able to manage particular values applied to all files within the enterprise.

Make the problem files screen more usable
Make problem files hyperlinked back to the Web App so users can easy click to take a look at the document on box.com.
It's not always clear whether a problematic file exists only on my desktop, only on Box, or both. Clearer signals about that would be appreciated too.

Provide ability to see what piece of the policy a document met that flagged it for quarantine.
Some of our documents are over 100 pages, so it is time consuming to have to sift through them to find what triggered the policy to quarantine it.

Prompt users that Hidden/system files will be ignored/deleted.
Unsyncing folders that have ignored items (hidden, system files) will delete the items without prompting users.
Some users had files intentionally marked as Hidden. They lost their files when they unsynced a folder that contained these files.

Moved to trash report
We would like to run a report for a user and understand who deleted their content. Currently you will need to run this for the whole enterprise with the option moved to trash, and the results will only show who deleted the content and not who owns that content.
The only work around at moment is to pivot table with files and folders report of the owner they are looking to run the report on.

Blocked Files: Allow Users Not to Be Prompted Every Time They Launch
We keep .qbw files in Box and we are aware that Drive does not support them. However, every user gets a Drive error every time they launch and it's confusing for end users.

Need to get all the activity logs listed in the notification email
We want to get notification for each activity in the body of the email because sometimes some of the actions are not displayed, and "view all" button is displayed instead.

Multiple files in one shared link
We would like to send multiple documents from separate folders in a single shared link.
Currently when you select multiple files, you are limited to files within one folder, and the files are sent with a shared link for each file.
Possible solve: "Bundle zone" in the web UI where you could drag and drop files from different folders, and once you have all the ones you want, tell it to generate a single shared link which would display like a folder to the recipient, without the user having to rearrange their content.

We are not planning on supporting this feature in the near future and will revisit if we have more demand from customers for this functionality.

Map AD groups to co-admin roles
Like many large companies, we use AD groups for privileged roles like reporting and team management. There is no current way to map these AD groups into co-admin roles and the Box admin must set these manually.
This does not scale and is a major admin overhead for IT departments to have multiple places to administer something as simple as being able to generate reports or edit metadata templates.
8 votesThis does sound like a huge burden for admins and I’d like to hear more about how you’d use existing AD groups to grant co-admin permissions. We are looking into extending our APIs to allow admins to set co-admin permissions, which may alleviate the pain of setting the permissions manually.
However, we don’t currently have any plans to take the AD groups and map them to co-admin permissions at this time.
